Congrats Olivia!!! So, when do you go to NYC for the finals? How exciting!

Hope your feeling better tomorrow, Jen.

....... I had to get up to get Olivia to competition. This is ADDA, a national competition that qualified us for the finals in NYC. We won high silver. They did great. We're all tired and my chest is hurting far too much to be comfortable so I think bed is the only option for us right now. I hope I'm feeling better tomorrow. I noticed Kristin called a couple of times while we were gone. I hope she's having fun. I really miss her!

Crash, I'll be at the MGM the 14th-16th. Have you pin pointed the dates for your trip to Vegas yet?

Wow!

Congrats on the high silver... it's glamourous NYC on the horizon now!!!!! :thumbsup2 I can only dream about my little girl being hot enough as a gymnist to qualify for such wonderful achievements!

And time WILL heal you... guaranteed! Just continue to try and take it easy... and enjoy the relaxed schedule you'll be giving yourself. :rolleyes1 HECK... every day is so busy around here I almost wish I were ill a little so I could slack off a bit. OK.. maybe that is NOT such a bright idea....

and on the Vegas thing... I only saw that Ballys/Paris was OK for hotel costs and such... we're still looking at which hotel we'll go with and which dates. Plus gotta see if my Dad wants to go... and that will add complexity to the deal...

Cheers t'all til tomorrow! (I assume most will be catchin some ZZZs now)

:confused3 seems to be a quiet weekend without Kristen around ta stir up a conversation! :confused3

I'm still working on T-shirt designs. Who was it that was going to volunteer a shirt silk screener for us? I imagine we need pricing for this and dat - or simply put me in touch and I'll get the info and post the options and costs here. I need to know what format my artwork has to be in for the t-shirt maker to use.

AND shortly I'll have a few designs for our community to review and vote on.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

Hi all,
Seems like our little thread here has been really quite since I left what is going on here???

OK had a blast in Dallas and got a sun burn and then spent to much money shopping but what else is new??

Hope you all had a great weekend...

Missed talking to everyone....!!!

Boy did we have a busy weekend! Three dr's Appt., two birthday parties, a soccer game, and a baseball game! I think my weekend's are more hectic than my weekdays!

Kristin, Welcome back! Glad you had a nice trip!

Off to watch Desperate Housewives and Grey's! Will catch up some more tomorrow!

Heather

Welcome back Kristen!

We missed your cheerful banter this weekend. :thumbsup2 I've been busy lurking though the Fire and Med threads. And it looks like we'll not be pursuing the DCL Med sailngs as the expectations are not good for getting everyone in our party to agree on going. Plus some DIS folks were citing fares of $48,000 for a party of 8 in a catagory 3... versus my observation that we could get 7 day sailings for 8,000 for 8 (inside cabins) with NCL or $12,000 for a 12 nites on Princess in a window cabin. AND thats with no advance booking advantage - as these were for July of 2006! Advance booking discounts would enable a one or two catagory bump for similar money most likely.

SO... unless my expanded family reasserts a strong desire to sail DCL we're gonna shop Princess and Celebrity for 2007.

ANd otherwise, it's been quiet at home around here. A bit of yard work and a relaxing bit of putterring around town locally for the most part.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome back...Missed the computer while I was gone....But I really did enjoy the rest but feel as if I am getting sick......

Capt,
I did look into the med. cruise as well...Expensive is the key here and you are totally right my aunts, etc. along with my parents have looked into cruising to Italy in a suite and it is soooo much less on other lines...I wonder if Disney will ahve trouble filling up the ship....????

yeah....

Even though everyone has $ no one really throws it away wholesale... and when the the scale gets above a certain varying point folk compare and talk. My family of 4 in a window on DCL in JULY 2007 would be 8800~12,300 depending on capacity when they got to taking my request. That's including the on-board rebooking discount I'd be transferring from my OCT 28th sailing! AND by comparison I could sail the RCCL Voyager of the Seas (142,000 tons, 1999 launch and 42:1 space ratio) in a 211' window for 7 days on Oct 28th 2006 at $2479.39 including a $14 TA fee! Granted this is July 2007 on DCL versus OCT 2006 on RCCL... but the per day difference is DCL at $880-1230 a day versus $354... which is 59% to 71.2% less with RCCL. Shoot... I could even book a 506' "owners suit" with 64' veranda for $5479.40. On a per day basis that's $782 a day... still less than a DCL window for the 2nd highest catagory on RCCL. AND as another alternative... which I might add is a bit odd but features certain advantages... We could sail Holland America's flagship the Rotterdam IV(59,000 tons, an intimate <?!> 1300 passengers, launched 1997 with a spacious 47:1 ratio) for $5800 for 15 days from Lisbon to Rio De Janiero docking at 3 continents with 7 sea days and crossing the equator.... WOW. That works out to $387 a day for the 4 of us in TWO 182' window cabins. If we had connecting cabins it would be like having a 364' double suite w/o veranda. They were not quoting triples or quads so the twin suites were the only comparable alternative. However, I could go cheaper by taking inside cabins thus saving about $380 per inside cabin taken... but 15 days without sunlight in the cabin is intolerable IMHO.

AND if we were to compare July 2007 DCL versus JULY 2006 it is difficult because just last week to today the fares have sold out for capacity in quads/triple AND doubles in some cases. The only doubles in July I could find were for Princess 12 nites inside for 2 cabins at 9,000 not counting taxes yet. So clearly, for 2007 a booking for July would have to be made early.

At any rate, July is a PEAK demand period... and my BIL prefers July. I'm gonna have to chat with him a little more on that. He's a medical school instructor (I don't recall precisely the term for what he does except he sees his "residents" and I think he's "attending"?).... so he has strict restrictions on when is convenient to travel at length. My retired MIL and FIL will go anytime of course. And we can more or less travel when-ever with modest restrictions. The other family members can match our calander if they can or want to. They're a bit more complicated (or rather they were extremely conplicated 2 years ago when we tried to plan this and we could not reach consensus quickly enough to book air land and cruise. There is a 330 day advance for use of frequent flyer miles and 12 of 15 in our party were using miles... and 8 of these 12 were comng from Hawaii with very limitied capacity for award seats to the main-land; let alone connecting through to Europe!). Needless to say it was complicated.

At any rate, I think we'll be making plans with the easiest 3 initially and see if the others will join or not this time around. We tried to make it easy for all 2 years ago and I am not as compliant this time.

Oh well... sorry to digress so much... I guess I was venting a bit at the "values" obtainable in the MED for different times on different lines and so on.

SO, anyone have anything fun planned this week? We're seeing our CPA tomorrow... oh boy what fun eh? :stir:

My sister is the Tshirt maven... we need to determine some sort of volume. Either a survey (can we do a second survey on one thread?) or folks will have to email me. Once I get her a volume, we'll be able to talk designs and prices. :)

Good Monday to all.....Everyone must be busy today. Pretty quite weekend here. Hopefully had our last shot of cool air for the year (Remember that 50 is cold to us)

For our May cruise we have to have orders for our shirts placed by April 7th. This will allow time for shipping. sjcube....do you have any idea how much lead time they will need? We can start sending you PM's with our number needed if that will help you.

Dave

Hi all! Thanks for Olivia's congrats. She did well. I feel much better today. It may be the adrenaline. I got a GREAT deal for Vegas. I booked through (after looking at MANY other options) US Airways vacations. I got 2 direct flight round trip tix plus 4 nights at MGM Grand (with an upgraded room) for $880!!
The second part of my high comes form the quote I just got back from my TA for adding my favorite cousin (more like my niece) age 16 to my mother's reservation on the cruise!! She is so good natured, mykids love her like she's their sister. She's never been to Disney or a cruise so we are all thrilled!! Plus my mom won't be alone in her room and that makes me feel better.

For the ladies,I was happy to find Olivia's "formal" dress it's white with a pink sash and pink rosebuds on the bottom. Very pretty. In the store they commented that she looked like cinderella.......of course she was thrilled princess:

just checking in you all had a great day!!!!

Hey...

... we just got another "VOTE" on the cabin poll... anyone notice WHO it was? I can't tell anymore. SO... if the new voter is LURKING... please step out of the shadows and introduce yourself... we won't bite. We just might snicker a little... that's all! :cool1:

And welcome (in advance) to our little variety of insanity! :rotfl2:

Ok...

SO who was it among this list? Ginger", 4wood4one, akghutton, big jack 2002, captaincrash, Holly&Joesmommy, joksten2000, kchartsf, Keggy, lUVTOGO?

I think we can pretty much eliminate captaincrash, joksten, akghitton and ....?

Can you add to the list? You know... I'm amazed how many folks it seems are either lurking or just casual visitors here. You suppose we're scaring folks off? :lmao: Maybe I should not have posted those photos of me tossing the baby over the guard rail of the MAGIC..... :rotfl2:
