Airborne I have heard so much about it....Where can I get some I feel like I am getting a cold too....

Deanna,
Have fun on your date and let us know how it goes...Sounds like the kids will have fun at MIL house tooo....

Kristin

You can get it at most drug stores (CVS, Walgreens etc). It goes fast so I usually get mine at Target and buy a few boxes. You could probably really benefit from it. However, ask the pulmonologist on Tuesady first!

Airborne is pretty decent dose of vitamins, etc...I'm not sure that it's helped with my cold, but I know I feel like I'm getting a supershot of vitamin c! You can pick it up at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc., I've used the store brand. It's a yummy way to start the day. I like it in hot water. :)

Kristin, that is very sweet of your husband, and you are so good to treasure it. I bet you two are really great together.

Bucki, glad the talent show audition went well. I'm not surprised!

Scott and I met in college, too, when he was a freshman at UMASS and I was a senior at SCSU, long story, but we're both marching band geeks and brothers in an honorary band fraternity. Met in 1989, married in 1991...married 14 years, and now we're embarking on a new marriage, a new life together...an answered prayer. :fish:

We're in line for that blizzard, too, and since we're on the CT shoreline, we've not had much snow so we're pretty psyched! Especially since it doesn't interfere with our flight Tuesday morning. Now I have NO excuse- I must stay home, clean my house, do laundry and repack. I swear, I'm only taking one carryon for this 10 day KeyWest then RC cruise adventure...I'm just going to have to take some stuff out of the bag to make it fit. I don't really need 20 shirts and four pairs of shoes, do I? *sigh*

Oh my gosh I did nto know you were from CT also..us tooo....you are supposed to get more snow than we are in ct...
Wow I went to CCSU..that is such a small world...

Dh got the airborne stuff and I tookit but now Jen has me worried that I should not have since I am seeing my dr. on tues...maybe I should have waited I am hoping I do not have some weird reaction..But is is just vitamins so what can happen...Right??

When do you leave for your cruise again???
I do treasure Dh and what he has written so one day I can look back on it and think about what we have been through..

SUBJ, you say a new marriage did you just renew your vows??We did that on our five year anniv., in st. thomas with our friends who we met on our honeymoon in st.thomas..I know we are loosers but it was so romantic and fun...

off to bed I am soo beat and soo run down..talk to you all tomorrow since we will all be snowed in...dave and fran bet you do not miss any of this stuff...we can all chat on the boards all day long....

Ohhh.....

I get it now. Thanks ....

And would anyone believe that it's 9 PM here and I have NOT started packing for the cruise yet? LOL! ..... yeah, I'm waiting til the 11th hour to keep things interesting. OK, maybe I won't wait until 11PM. And my spouse has pretty much finished packing... and I can pack pretty quickly in under an hour.

:thumbsup2

OK....

Leaving for the port now....

Happy Valentines day to all! :thumbsup2

have a great trip can not wait to hear about it...

buckifan - I am glad to hear you married your soul-mate as well. :goodvibes

I have also taken airbourne and I truly think it helped me feel better a lot quicker. It would be a good thing to take while cruising to ward off other's germs. :stir:

captaincrash- Happy :boat:

sjcubedofct- I got married in 1988. It is sweet that you and your Husband found your way back to each other. You must have been meant to be together. :lovestruc

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Teri

Mmmm...we did not renew our vows...it's a long story...short version is our marriage was very broken, we divorced in September, and through the grace of God (He's the God of redemption, forgiveness, restoration and love!), we're committed to each other and hope to marry each other again in the coming months. In the meantime, we're praying and rebuilding our lives. It's a wonderful opportunity, we've both been abundantly blessed!

We're looking forward to the next 10 days together in Key West and on the cruise, since he's living in NC right now...we can't wait to be together. :) Hence, maybe I do need 20 shirts and five pairs of shoes...I need the ability to choose!

And trust me, the thought of Key West, Jamaica and Grand Cayman kept me going today while using that snow blower, clearing that 15" of snow from the driveway this afternoon!! I'm excited to think that in 36 hours, I'll be someplace warm sans snow!!

I'm back! And I'm finally thawed out! I promised GoofyDrivesACar a complete report when I got back. SO, here it goes!

London was really cool. No, I mean REALLY cool. Almost Minnesota cool. lol Actually, it was pretty nice (32-45) most of the time. We actually saw the sun briefly one day too!

Of course, this was a business trip. So, we started out by visiting a pub. Thank fully, I took both doses of the beer tasting class on our last cruise. I carefully inspected each beer, took a sniff and proclaimed, "It smells like beer!" We quaffed a few of the local offerings and moved on to the local curry.

We did, of course, have to do some business while we were there. We visited a partner and a mutual customer site. Of course, the day was topped off by visiting a pub or two! Now, that the business was pretty much out of the way, we had the rest of the week to see the sights (in between pubs). We viewed landmarks like the Gherkin (phallic building), the City of Westminster's award winning public restrooms,

IMG_2307.jpg
IMG_2281.jpg

We even tried some of the local cuisine, like fish & chips, bangers and mash, toad in a hole (pictured),
IMG_2284.jpg

and the beer...
IMG_2294.jpg

In retrospect, we probably should have skipped the local cuisine. There is so much good foreign food, there isn't much need to eat English food - which often involves much the same processes as creating baby food.

My boss' brother works at the BBC and we got a nice tour of the facility from him. We watched a rehearsal for a show that takes place in, you guessed it, a PUB! That made us all thirsty and we retired to the pub before a nice dinner (not English food).

We really did do a lot of sightseeing, but I had already done most of it on a previous trip to London with my DW. We did visit the Tower of London and Tower Bridge at night, which was amazing! Well, we visited it during the day and stayed in a pub until it was dark.

If you can find a London Pride or a Greene King IPA on tap, I would wholeheartedly recommend trying one. Those were my two favorite beers that we tried on the trip. And if you need a good curry, you need to visit Brick Lane. I probably won't eat Indian food at home for a while in fear of growing a hate for the best I have available to me!

I WON'T miss smelling like an ashtray. DW had to wash some of my stuff two or three times! And we might have to burn the suitcase I took!

4 more days until DL! I'm going to take a lesson from the Captn and pack at the last possible minute (and not in the suitcase I took to London!)

BTW, I'm really impressed with all of the Valentines ideas and the romantics on this board. But, you're really making me look bad! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I hope everybody has great week! We know sj^3 & the capn will!

Okay, what exactly is "toad in a hole"? :confused3 I think I might have to pass on that. It sounds like you had a good trip, and the beer tasting on the boat sounds like it came in handy for you.

sjcubedofct --well I am glad to hear that thigns have worked out for the two of you...and itsounds like you guys were so meant to be together...Have a wonderful trip,,

Awol-welcome back and great pictures thanks for sharing...we were getting worried as to where you were...Did not know when you were coming "home."
Looks like it was a fun trip..I hear you with the whole smoke thing..that drove me nuts while we were in Ireland...

Hope anyone who had the snow is shoveled out by now..Jen, Did the kids have school????

Toad in the hole is also known as Turd in the hole. Aptly named. It's typical English fare - a sausage draped over the top of mash(ed potatoes), with some nasty sauce (gravy) dribbled over the top. I think that bread like substance is yorkshire pudding, but I can't be sure. I DID NOT order or EAT that thing. But, I did get a giggle out of the seeing "turd in a hole" on the menu. I had fish and chips which was served with Gerber baby food - but, they called it mushy peas. I also didn't eat that!

The beer tasting did come in handy, although I'm afraid I *MIGHT* forget everything I've learned by October! So, I think I'll have to do the beer tasting again on our cruise ;)

I agree on the beer tasting :drinking1 , especially since the teacher will be new this time. Do you think they will have two sessions like the last time? If so, do you think it will be as easy to ditch me again for the second session? :rotfl:

If the only have two, we might have to lead a session or two on our own! And yes, I think it will be easy. But, I won't have Chip&Dale&Fun to save me from drinking alone this time.

Kritter - Thanks for the welcome back!

sj^3 - I just caught your post about the T-shirts. I think it would be great to have T-shirts for the cruise. Any idea on specifics - minimums, cost, lead time, etc? I know you're out for a while, so enjoy yourself and answer when you get back!

Awol, welcome back. Cool pictures. I would have loved going to the BBC. My favorite show is The Office and I know it originated in England. Do you travel anywhere else in Europe for business?

Kristin, yes the children were home today.

Sjcu, wow! I am truly happy that things are working out for you. I understand where you've been and although I'm not sure I'll ever be where you are now; I admire your strength, trust, and love to try it again.

Jen I bet you can not wait till tomorrow when the kids are in school....

I will be thinking of you tomorrow....HE HE!!!

awol.....let me know when session 3, 4, and 5 are held. I refuse to let a man drink alone. I have not done the beer tasting yet but we did do the tequila tasting last time, that taught me that you get what you pay for. No more cheap tequila for me. Glad you had a great trip, thanks for the pictures.

Ok ladies.........Let me know how bad I looked today. Let's hear all the romantic things your DH did for you. Tchrmom, I will speak for you: "My DH did nothing romantic today" :rotfl: I am going to take her out for mexican on Friday!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!
