Holly and Joe... Welcome aboard!

And I suspect we'll have a fairly large crowd on the ship - and we may very well have to host a HUGE ice cream eating contest. Last time we had 104 on the thread - about 70 at the meet and 50 joining in on the DIS private events. And for my ice ream eating contest I had about 16 in the deal - with half under and above age 15. We can easily add or subtract - it's just that we have to order the ice cream from the front desk and I imagine there will be a practical limit. I may eventually have to set a limit at some point as I suspect we'll have a larger following then 104 on the thread. Hence - we may have more who want to join in the fun. SO - I will set aside 5 slots for your family for now... and that puts us at 6 so far.

::yes::

Kritter...............I use to find the teacher icon in the box to the right of my reply. I never pasted it in my signature.......I just always added it to my name. It use to be on the bottom row of smilies. It's gone, and when I click on the "more" button, nothing happens.

:teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher: :teacher:

Here are your teacher icons :rotfl: :rotfl: I will help you with the "more" button tonight. :rotfl2:  :love2:

For me......No tux here. I go to PALO on formal night so that I only have to dress in a tie once. Living in Florida we are very casual so we do not get dressed up much. DS 14 would cut his leg off before he got dressed up. To him, wearing long pants is getting dresses up.

Have a good night

Dave

fran...do you have a pop up blocker?? ( No dave...be nice) cause that may be why you don't have the additional faces pop up

Great ideas thanks so much everyone keep them coming...Please.....

Also thanks for telling me when pirate night is...I think we will just do halloween costumes for this one and no pirate attire..

Capt, What will you be wearing?? Since youbought such a great halloween costume will you use it or will you do the pirate theme?? Inquiring minds want to know.....I go with the Halloween costumes since you made us guess and all.....

what do they do for the kids if they have sea sickness???Just wondering...

Ok all just wanted to check in ...Be back later .....

Fran,
Glad to see the teacher icons back....

I think our thread is growing which makes me happy....

Capt,
Could my kids participate as well in the contest?? Or are they too young?? If not oh heck sign them up too....

Here are your teacher icons I will help you with the "more" button tonight.

Heh, Heh, Heh,..........I'm sure you will!

Oops! Sorry, this is a DISNEY board! :rotfl2:

As XLT said.................we do Palo on formal night, thus preventing us to have to dress up twice. The kids like that, and always choose to order room service or go to Topsiders that night. Works for us!

Wish me luck tomorrow kritter........Wednesday is the 100th day of school. We're painting t-shirts tomorrow with stars and a "100" stamp. (with fabric paint, of course) to wear on Wednesday.
23 six year olds and fabric paint...........no headaches there, right? :headache:

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Kristin,
I would speculate that because Halloween is a special event in it self the Magic will hold a seperate night for pirate night. I know from reading the last Halloween thread that pirate night and Halloween were two seperate celebrated occasions. The characters dress in Halloween costumes on Halloween and Pirate costumes on "pirate" night.
The other thing I HAD to have was a light up alarm clock. I bought a 15.00 cheapee at Target. I HATE not knowing the time if I wake up at night. We brought the 2 way radios and NEVER used them. Also the day you arrive make sure your bathing suits and sunscreen etc. are packed in your carry on. Luggage gets to your room later than you do and the kids LOVE the pool. I'm already imagining you and I with our "Miami Vice" half strawberry and half pina colada at the sail away party!
ps. GET the Passporter asap. Order on Amazon, I know you're a fan!
I have second graders tomorrow :crazy2: Day before long weekend kids will be crazy!!

Wow! I was out for a few days, and I missed so much!

Kritter, How is your Dad? I'll keep him in my prayers. And I read what Jen wrote about you in the Mary Poppins outfit, is that really you? How cute! Tried your chicken recipe last night.....it was really good thanks a lot!

Now, I could very well be wrong about this (and I probably am) but I asked when I called Disney if the Pirate night would be on Halloween, and the woman told me that they would most likely have Pirate night on a different night. So we were thinking we'd have to bring outfits for each night. Maybe I'll call again and speak to someone else as it gets closer to our sail date.

Princess.....glad you're back. How is everything going?

Buck,
Thanks. I was thinking of you too. Things are fine. Settling back down after a bit of chaos. That's not really Kristin. I was just kidding around with her. I figured out how to get my pics on my computer (as you know I was clueless) but I only know how to send them to email. If you want to PM me with your email I can send some of the cruise so you can see Olivia and Cameron. I love the new pic of Drew and Kylie. How are they? Olivia LOVED Felicity and Elizabeth. I have pics of that too!! She'll be 9 at the end of this month and she wants Jess. Have you seen her? Very cute.

I just can't do the "pirate look" well. I'll do what I did last year and dress in tropical wear. Sounds like a beauty pageant.....and now for the tropical wear....
Tink? Absolutely!! Love it!!!

So weird. My best friends dad. Pillar of our community, was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the outer lining of his kidney, liver and urethra in October. They are bringing him home from the hospital this week so that he can die at home with his family. Most likely in the next 3 weeks. Been crying for days. My heart breaks for her, they are so close. They built an in-law on her house for her parents. Her mom is not doing very well either.

I'm sorry for your friend. I am continuously amazed at the challenges life brings our way. What surprises me even more is our human capability to handle it all. Shock, sad, bereft and then accepting and healing. It truly is all a circle. I will think of you and your friend tonight and and me and mine and pray for all.

On a lesser note. I think the girls could be frightened pirate night. Kids were definitely crying. Just prepare the girls before. I'll tell you about it later and you can explain to them. On a very cool side they do play AC/DC Shook Me All Night Long during the "scary part". 'She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean, she was the best'......... you know the rest! Interesting choice for Disney. However, I admit to rocking out!!! Yes, the pop princess likes rock and roll too!!

Oh my gosh love that song...Dh does tooo....That was one of my girlfriends and my favorite songs when we would go out dancing...those were the days....Love it shocked that disney would do that?????

I know for sure the kids will be scared they hate captain hook and run if they see any thing from peter pan that is scarey...I think I will be passing of the dressing up for pirate night...Maybe will do what you did....We can all match...

It does amaze me what we can handle...Even when we think that we can not handle it we somehow are able to drudge through it all time and time again...It really is hard the stuff we all have to endure but somehow with the support of family and friends we all can make it through it..God I sound like someone from Desperate housewives....

glad to have you back Princess....

I hear that! Not only did I buy a tux, but I had to buy long pants so I could go to any other dinner! I get to wear shorts at work, so I hadn't seen a pair of long pants in the prior nine months! It's terrible living in warm places, isn't it? Thank god we didn't go on a nordic cruise or I might have had to long sleeve shirts and a jacket (where do people get those?)! I guess I could have eaten at topsiders by myself all week... ;)

Hello all....

.... just saw King Kong tonight... it was ... OK. Sort of scary at times and a bit thick as well. But beautiful CGI artistry for the most part.

.... and Kitter.... All your kids are fine (including the spouse) regardless of age - as it does not really matter who wins - it's the involvement and antics :flower: that count! SO forgive me for not recalling how many "critters" you're bringin' aboard. But at this stage - we can sort of set aside capacity for any who step forward. Later we may have too many folks - and at most we might break up the two age brackets into west and east coast "stages" with a real time on the winners. So we don't have to actually stage 20 people at a time in the races. But then again - this is assumed to be "MY event" so I may amend the rules and process as we go. It's just from the last time we did this we learned a few things and I tend to be evolutionary in how I do things... as opposed to revolutionary and spontaneous.

At any rate, I'm happy to see we'll get seperate pirate and Halloween costume nites. And if we did not have seperate events then I would have worn both costumes on the same nite - simply because I'm certifiable... or so my spouse sez. And, on tuxes... I'm happy to see others are nutty enough to bring a tux like we are. I must say it was sort of fun to dress up for formal nite last September. Now - I need to buy a BLACK tux - but I don't know whether I'll get one in time for the Carnival cruise we have for valentines'. SO I guess I better look up that site referral and start lookin' through EBay! :confused3

So ... just out of curiosity is anyone a digital photography enthusiast? I'm sort of into it - but not very skilled (yet). I'd be quite enthusiaasatic about sharing ideas and such. I just bought a new zoom that was just introduced in Aug of last year - the Canon 70-300 IS from B&H. It has not arrived yet - but it was more or less so I would have a new "toy" for the Valentines trip.

OK... gotta go a lurkin' and browsing through the other forums for the evening.

TTFN :hyper2:

Good morning to all........Not much planned for the weekend.

DCL must be trying something new because we got our "cruise Packet" for our May cruise yesterday. It lets you know when final payment is due and when you can start making reservations online. It has sections on excursions, and talks about the rest of the ship including dining options. It is a very nice packet.

Dave

Kritter, Hope I didn't insult you by asking if that was you in the Mary Poppins outfit. I wasn't sure of your age, but now I know you're probably younger than me! But I still feel like I'm in my 20's.....isn't that what's really important? ;)

Princess, I've never PM'd anyone.....I'll give it a try. Would love to see pix of your kids! Glad to hear Olivia liked her dolls. I have seen the new doll....she is very cute. Kylie has the last two limited edition dolls....Marisol & Kailey. Kailey has the same hair and eye color as Kylie, and their names are so similar, I just had to get it for her. Did you happen to read about Kylie giving Kit a haircut? We are sending her back to get a new head! I don't think she'll do THAT again!

Drew doesn't know it yet, but he is going to be cap't Jack Sparrow for pirate's night. I want to look for a cute outfit for Kylie.....Dh and I probably won't dress up that night. Still not sure about our Halloween costumes. Dh not wearing a tux for formal night, just maybe a nice suit. He's not a fan of being dressed up. He's a Landscape Architect and dresses casual for work everyday.
