Was this the Thursday before the Daytona 500? That sounds like a lot of fun. We will definitely have to check into that. My husband lives and breathes NASCAR!!!

Melissa
Yes :thumbsup2 , the Thursday prior to "The Weekend"
In the old days it was called the "Twin 125's"
in 2005 it was called the "Gatoraide Duels"
(it's 2 races that determine the starting grid for the 500)
==========================================
I saw Busch, Iroc, and Truck Practice that morning;
then the Gatoraide Duels; then more practice
and qualifing. :Pinkbounc
==========================================
Buy an additional ticket for the fan zone to watch upclose
the Inspection Stations and inside of the Garages. :woohoo:

Any ideas on what I could have waiting in my mother and Julia's (will be 17 in December) stateroom? Food isn't a good option for me because Julia has food allergies.

Questions on excursions; if we are going to do the tours on both St. Marteen and St. Thomas, do we bring US dollars to buy lunch or do we have to exchange currency? Both tours include time for us to get lunch in a local cafe.
Also, has anyone done the Under 2 flags tour or the St. Thomas tour?
If the tour says it starts at 8:45am, what time would we have to meet? (your best guess)

Also, once we are on the ship, can we switch to a different time if it is available for one of the tours?

8:45 is a little early....

Thanks!
Jennifer

What about a spa treatment or an onboard credit so they could get what they want...??????

Teri have a fantastic time! I double the Ghirardelli request only make mine a hot fudge sundae!!

Good Idea Kristin.

Miss....... I don't know about the excursions but I'm sure someone will.

Olivia got picked (so proud :goodvibes ) from the competition dance team to be the dancer who will compete in 2 difficult shows in early spring, hopefully continuing on to NYC :cheer2: She is so happy!!

We had no problem spending dollars in St. Marteen, so I am guessing you should be fine. :teeth:

Did you check the recent Navigators (http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/DCL-Navigator-Eastern2-April/index.htm)? It looks like the island tour meets at 08:00. Also, remember that you have to get up early on St. Thomas day to go through customs. That doesn't leave much time to eat, does it? You could order from room service.

I don't think it would be a problem to switch if there's room. But, then again, I've not done a Disney excursion and aren't this time either ;)

We also spent plenty of dollars in St. Martin! I'm reasonably sure that we used our credit card in almost every store, too. Our plans were cancelled last year because of weather, so we had nothing else to do but shop!

Erin,
No docs here, but it won't be long now! I bet they start showing up next week.

Anybody with a GTY got a room assignment yet? I'm patiently awaiting our upgrade :rotfl2:

AWESOME! That is great, give her a great big CONGRATS from us!

Jen,
That is so cool for Olivia. How fun for her.

So....I've read that our docs come fed ex. Is that true?

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats to OLivia... :cheer2: :cheer2:

Should we be getting our docs. soon?????

Thanks everyone. Olivia will be thrilled to see all of your congrats.

I think we got our docs three weeks before the cruise last year.

I've gone in to major stress zone. Our pug Lilly got her vaccinations yesterday. When I got her home she was acting funny so I put her in my room thinking she just might need to rest. I went up about an hour later and her whole face had swollen shut with red welts. She was having trouble breathing. I rushed her back to the animal hospital where they gave her more shots and kept her for observation. She's better now but we were sweating it for awhile!

Then I came home and started trying things on for the cruise and because I was tired and stressed I decided I hate everything. I think the first night at dinner is the hardest to dress for. Last year we didn't get our luggage until after dinner. It's a lot of rushing if you have early seating. The sail away party starts at 4:30 so getting dressed and to dinner on time is difficult. What has been everyone elses experience with the first night?

This is what I'm afraid will happen, so I'm taking dinner clothes in our carry-on. I don't care if it is a pain to lug around for a couple of hours....I don't want to be dressing LAST MINUTE, or worse not get luggage until after dinner, like you did.

As soon as I get my upgrade, I will let you know. This is the 1st time that we have tried GTY so we better get upgraded.

Dave

As long as there is no hurricane and we get on the boat on Saturday afternoon....I can just wear whatever I wear for boarding to dinner that night!! I used to really sweat all of the clothes, but it seems like it only flustered me and no one else so I have let it go.

Heck, we don't even know what we will do at the 2 ports yet......

We are late dining by choice though as well, probably has something to do with this "whatever" attitude. So we will have our luggage I am sure.

All of the planning though is part of the fun.

Have a great day everyone.
Missy
