Okay so if you go to the DW Halloween Party, do you dress up? If so let us know what you plan to wear this year.

We are going to MNSSHP this year  and we WILL be in costume! Not sure what DH and I will be wearing, but I am going to try my hand at making a costume for my DD (attempting a Belle dress). Looking for idea's for DH and I :goodvibes jen

We'll be there Oct 4th:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: DH is going as Indiana Jones, I'll be a hula girl and DS wants to be Captain Jack.

I should have added undecided. I'm not sure if we will dress up ourselves, but the kids are already talking about what they want to be, and only one of them is Disney related... oh, well. If I could sew I'm go as Ursula, it would work perfectly on my not so slim :rotfl: frame!

This is our first MNSSHP, and DH may go as Capt. Jack. DD's have several cosutmes to choose from...and as for me I haven't decided.

Our family was just discussing this the other day, and this will be our first MNSSHP!:cool1: My kids are going in their soccer uniforms(CHEAP!), I am going to go as a nurse I think(buy some scrubs, and we have the stethescope, and I can wear gym shoes. Comfy). My DH works part time for the Indy Racing League and has to wear a uniform when he works the races. So, guess what he wants to go as...yes...an Indy Racing League Official. Very unique!!!

September 30th will be our first MNNSHP and I just ordered the cutest costume for myself on clearance. It's a one piece dress but it's make to look like a blouse and a poodle skirt. It comes with the belt and the scarf, I bought a pink head band and I have white ankle socks and plain white sneakers to wear with it.

DS wants to be a superhero he created himself and DH won't want to dress up but he wears a cowboy hat, jeans and cowboy boots everyday. Kids always tell their parents that he's a real cowboy anyway.

This will be our first MNSSHP. I am thinking of being a Mouseketeer. Dh too (he doesn't know yet, ha ha) and Ds as Mickey.

this will be our first too! But I think that we are going to be peter pan, captain hook, tinker bell & wendy!! Don't really know in what order yet ( I don't think that DH knows that he is going to get dressed up yet!) But we ARE going to get dressed up, I still need to think--they have to be COOL (as in heat) costumes!!

It started because the the toddler size Captain Hook costume was just way too cute to leave in the store, so I had to buy it. In August. Eventually I found Tinkerbell and Peter Pan costumes on line (sorry don't remember where - this was in 2005) for my and hubby. I'm not the least bit artsy-craftsy so me sewing anything was out of the question.
I have to tell you my husband was initially not thrilled about being Peter Pan, but once we were there and he saw so many people in costume, he was fine with it.

We're going as Snow White (me), Prince Charming (DH), Grumpy (DS7), and Dopey (DS3). I'm making all of the costumes except mine. I got a $75 Snow White costume for $15 at the Disney Catalog Outlet 2 years ago...I could not pass that up!! I'm making DH's costume from a Civil War Confederate soldier pattern (modified slightly) and the 2 dwarf costumes are coming from a Peter Pan pattern (again slightly modified). I love to sew and haven't started any of them yet, although I have all the material. Which reminds me, I better get moving....October will be here before I know it!! :scared1:

We all dress up! Two years ago we were a pirate family and this year we are all going as hippies :hippie: ! I plan on attempting the ty dye Mickey shirts for DH and DS...wish me luck! Part of the fun is dressing up!
Me :cloud9: , DH :cool2:, DS(8) :yay:

This will also be our first MNSSHP and DD will be Tink and DS will be Peter Pan. I don't know if we are dressing up or not yet. I wanted to but heard they don't like adults to dress like Disney characters :confused3 . I would want to be Cinderella since DD is being Tink. Now mind you I'm just over 30 but am blonde and on the smaller side. I don't see how there would be confusion but I fear they won't let me in. Most Disney Princesses are 10 years younger than me.

DH and I went alone last year. There was this woman there dressed as Belle in the gold gown. She made it herself, but she looked like the real deal!! I was sitting beside her and she told me that CM's took her aside and told her that she was not to pose for pictures, sign anything or impersonate Belle in any way, shape or form. This was because by doing so, she would be impersonating a CM and that could open Disney up to a whole slew of legal problems if something were to go wrong. If I didn't see the candy bag on her wrist, I too would have thought she was a cast member. Actually, her dress was more detailed than the one the 'real Belle' wears. I think that is really the only reason Disney doesn't want you to REALLY dress up. But there were tons of adults dressed like Disney characters. Mostly in the bought costumes and trust me, you can tell that they aren't CM's. I plan to dress like Snow White, but you'll be able to tell that I'm not a CM...just a mom.

DH and I didn't dress up last year and let me tell you.....we felt like the only party-pooper adults there. Mostly everyone was looking great in their costumes. We're not making that same mistake this year!!

I wore a shirt I designed last year (went with another adult friend who also wore a {different} shirt I designed).

This year I'm going with my family and we are ALL dressing up! It's gonna be FUN!!!
Me: Wendy
DH: Smee (much cooler outfit than Capt. Hook!)
DS: Peter Pan
family friend/trip nanny: Tiger Lily

I'm making all the costumes.

This is the design my friend wore:

Well then I will be dressing up, it sounds like fun. DH said no way is he dressing up though :rolleyes1 . I guess I might be stuck being Wendy since DD is being Tink. She is perfect for the costume too.

We went last Oct and poor DS was a skunk, of course they had a horrid heat wave and the skunk costume lasted about 10 seconds, something about a fur fleece lined full body suit was too much for him at 90 degrees. :sad2: This year the 2yo will be a monkey and the 3 week old will have a banana bunting for hte MNSSHP. We're going to hit it 2 days so if it's too hot the first date we'll dress them up the 2nd which will be actual Halloween and dressing up is a must!:woohoo: :yay:

I'm still trying to talk my DM into waring one.But anyway yea go for it ! it's great fun 4 the whole family!:thumbsup2

I'm looking for some type of t-shirt with a picture of Grumpy the dwarf on it. That would fit my FIL perfectly!! Everyone in our party is dressing up except for him. My parents are going as Dorothy and the Scarecrow and MIL is going as a 50's girl. FIL is such a party-pooper adult!!

Well so far the kids want to be
DD7 (8 by then) Tink
DS6 Venom
DD4 Cinderella

I tried to talk them into something that we could have done as a family, but it's a no go at this point. My son won't go for anything Disney... it's Venom or nothing. And Cinderella seems so boring, but that's all the little one wants... I want her to be Alice... well they never want to go as anything I suggest :confused3

If I could sew I'd go as Ursula or The Queen of Hearts, but I can't and costumes cost so much, especially ones for us big girls. Hmm, maybe Merriweather if I could talk the girls into being Flora and Fauna.... yeah right.
