I'd like the whole family to dress up, but I'm just not sure DH will go for it. I read somewhere about someone's DH dressing as Gilligan. So I thought maybe he'd go for that, then I could go as Mary Ann. DS5 is thinking about Capt. Jack Sparrow. Not sure what DS2 will be yet. We are going in Sept. so I better start working on it sooner rather than later!

I bought Juliette a JoJo costume at an amazing price online a couple of months ago, so she'll be JoJo the clown and I will be Goliath, her pet lion.

I have NO idea how I am going to make the costume, but I am hoping to do something simple enough that I will be able to go to MGM earlier in the day and get our pictures taken with the real JoJo and Goliath. We'll see.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any links to any stores/websites that has clearence (okay..down right cheap) costumes for sale? I cant pay those high prices for halloween costumes for the whole family:goodvibes Thanks

I bought DD4 a golden sleeping beauty gown at the Disney Store for her BBB appointment. She doesn't know anything about it, its a surprise for our first day at WDW.
That gown will double as her costume for MNSSHP. I couldn't let her dress up alone ;) , so I bought myself a Malificent costume, with the staff and all! :rotfl2:
I can hardly wait!:cool1:

Our whole family gets into the costumes when we go to MNSSHP. DH will pretty much do anything I ask, so whatever costume I toss at him, he is ok with it. The kids are appeased by me allowing them to have two different costumes-one for MNSSHP and one for Halloween at home. We try to all go with one theme, but there have been years we all went our separate ways on dressing up. This year it looks as though we are going as pirates once again as DD is totally into anything with Johnny Depp or POTC and of course the boys LOVE being pirates. Guess I will suck it up and get out my eye patch! :rotfl:

My mom was supposed to go with me on my Sept/Oct trip, but canceled on me. I had already bought us costumes on ebay--a cavewoman for me and a 1/2angel 1/2 devil for her. If I can get her MNSSHP ticket changed to another night I'll be going to two parties solo and will be borrowing her angel/devil costume for the second party.

Hi,

This will be our first MNSSHP - we will be dressing up. :thumbsup2 I have been trying to talk DH into dressing as Bert (chimney sweep) with our 3 DS's little chimney sweep and me, of course, as Mary Poppins. DH wants to be a bowling team - that might be cute and cool (temp-wise). I'm pretty excited to be going to MNSSHP - anything we dress up in will be fun I'm sure! :woohoo:

I am looking at Sept dates and realized that there is a party friday night. It will be me DH DS11, and DS14. Are they to old for this??? I know you are never to old for disney, but I think a few of you know what I mean. What really happend from 7-12 anyway, are there rides open or just trick or treating?

Sorry this is long

This will be my 4th trip to WDW and the first time going in October so it'll be my first time going to the Halloween party...we did the Christmas one when we went last December.

My husband refuses to dress up...not even so much as a tshirt with a halloween theme or character on it...but my son and I will be dressing up. I'm going as Snow White and DS (who turns 2 in October) will be a pirate pirate: . I had hoped to dress him as Dopey but I can't find a costume and I'm not able to make one.

The party is so much more than the rides and trick or treating, but some folks do go solely for that. Of course there is the special parade and fireworks show (which should not be missed IMO)-the headless horseman is awesome. But there is also face painting, dance contests, hula hoop contests at Cosmic Ray's and tons of other activities they have going all over the park. The characters in costume are cool to see. The photo ops are endless too...in years past we had pics taken inside the doom buggy's and in front of HM with some of the hitchhiking ghosts. I just like the transformation the park makes. While we enjoy MVMCP, we like MNSSHP soooo much better. We always dress up-even DH...maybe your DH just isn't sure about being in costume because he doesn't realize that so many folks DO dress up. Oh well...not much you can do, but you will have a lot of fun. Now my oldest DS is 16...he does not tire of the party and we go every year. He still gets a kick out of dressing up, getting candy and riding the rides with relative ease (although it does depend on which night you go, on how crowded it is). We normally try to go early in the week, but in recent years the crowds have increased no matter what night you choose.

DGD has several to shoose from including the new one of Elizabeth form POTC3...I'm going as the Queen of hearts...daughter is white witch of Narnia....remember all of you it still real hot at Halloween down there!!!!!I went as a pirate last year and the layers made me so hot I felt like I'd been dipped in crisco....ewwwwwwwww

You guys must get really fancy with the pirate costumes to be so hot! OMG...I can't imagine being that uncomfortable! We've done pirates 3 years already, but I have a feeling we do a light version because we go the end of September or early October (when its still plenty hot) and we've never had a problem. We do billowy shirts, cut off jeans and a handkerchief tied around the head. I think that no matter what kind of costume you decide on, the heat and humidity have to be your #1 thought...otherwise you'll be miserable.

I went twice last year.
Adults can dress up - the only ones that were TOO good was a set of the Sleeping Beauty fairies - they were incredible, but all of the cast members were nice to them, but they did tell them not to do autographs.

I wore a Minnie Mouse dress and was treated like royalty. I had a cast member bow down to me and another one say "Hey look! It's the boss's wife!"
I had a lot of fun.

BE SURE TO WEAR SOMETHING COOL! It's hot as all get out, even in October.

I'm taking a 2 year old with me this time. She loves Ariel, so I'm thinking of getting her an Ariel costume.
Does anyone know where we can get a good deal?

Last year for Mickey's Halloween Treat at DCA the kids went as the 4 Pevensies from Narnia. It worked out great because the girls got to be princesses and get their up dos and tiaras at Libby Lu before the party, and the boys got to have swords and shields.

If we get to go again this year I'm not sure what the kids will dress up as. They want to match, so I'm think perhaps the Flinstones and the Rubbles? :confused3

I made the mistake of wearing a leather vest...full length pants tucked in boots...OMG was I HOT...this year I'm wearing a dress....atleast air can circulate lol

I went to party city this afternoon and found a cinderella costume for $5 for the kid we're taking. :cool1: I'm excited!

My girlfriend and I are both in our mid (to-late) 20's and we are going to our not-so-scary Halloween party. We are going to dress up, but will get our outfits once we are out in the US. We don't really celbrate Halloween in the UK so can't wait. I want to be Spiderman! :woohoo:

DH - Red and white striped knickers, black pirate shirt and belt of sorts
Me - White short sleeve chemise, black and white striped bodice, red skirt
DS - 14, he is insisting on being Kurt Cobain but I am going to bring some pirate gear
DD - Princess
