Halloween costumes at dinner?

We are going on the 3-night Wonder cruise from Oct. 30 -- Nov.2. I read somewhere that people wear their costumes to dinner. Is that every night or just Halloween? Children AND adults? Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated. This is our first Disney cruise, so we really have no idea what's appropriate.

We Cruised on the MAGIC last year for Halloween. No costumes showed up until Halloween day. Children dressed during the day, some all day long. Some DIS friends arranged a Trick or Treat for the children on their thread at cabins of people on the thread who wanted to pass out treats.

Some adults dressed in costumes for the photo op with the Captain, shows and dinner. Others only dressed for the costume judging after dinner and some did not change into costumes at all.

If you wear costumes any time in the day, be sure to stop by the stores as those CMs cannot leave their jobs and will not get to see the costume judging.

No matter what you do, you will not be the only ones unless maybe you decide to wear costumes each night for dinner  that may cause you to stand out.

Have a great time!

Hunneybee -

We sailed on the 7-Day in 2001 and had a great time. I was one of many "mommy" Snow Whites at dinner that night. DD was Cinderella and DH was a ghoul. Wearing our costumes to dinner was a big part of the fun. We had a great time at the Halloween Deck Party and afterward.

Also, it has been mentioned on the boards that little girls often wear their Princess Costumes to formal and semi-formal night instead of dressy dresses on the regular cruises (vice just the Halloween one).

WELL! I for one would just be destroyed if I had to share a dining room with someone dressed in some sort of gharish costume. How dare you think you could wear that into the dining room. You should be in a tuxedo and/or formal gown. At the very least a jacket and tie. My dinner would be just RUINED if I caught a glimpse of sneakers and not italian leather shoes. Oh the horror of glancing up from my appitizer to see, out of the corner of my eye, someone who did not share my desire to dress appropiately for my station in life. I am getting a migraine just from the thought of how dessert would be a complete debacle. I must go back to my chaise and rest.

(takes tongue from cheek)

Okay now, we can go back to the original question. I would dress up in a costume in a NEW YORK minute if I were on a DISNEY cruise on halloween. I say costume up and have fun.

LOL!!! You had me there for a minute!!
We're bringing costumes for GS & GD...DH refuses so I won't. I hope we're not the only ones...but so be it! With my luck we'll be seated with Fireplug's alter-ego!!

We went on the Halloween 2002 MAGIC cruise with college friends. The lady wore a Maleficent Costume from the Disney Catalog that was superb. Her husband would not wear a costume. We told people he was dressed as "a retired engineer on vacation." (Of course he was always dressed as a retired engineer on vacation, but it was all in good fun. )

BACRD: If you want to dress in a costume and DH does not but does not object if you do, then go for it.

GINNY: Thanks for reminding me that little girls go to dinner dressed as a Disney Princess. I had forgotten since I do not have a DD to travel with.

Apparently, Hunnybee, for some it's every night - even on non-Halloween cruises...
