Halloween Candy...

What we do.. is I allow the kids like 4 pieces a day, sometimes more;) . The older kids, they can take 2 pieces in their lunch, and then have 2 after dinner. Mostly after about 2 weeks, they are over it.ALl the good stuff is gone the first week LOL..(mom and dad help with this, expecially the chocolate YUMMY :))...after that, they forget its there. At Christmas time I give it away on freecycle. YEP... ALL I do is post "Left over Halloween candy"and I get more replies then I can count.:confused3

Ten pieces?!? That's a bit over the top unless we're talking full size bars.
I always let my kids eat all of it they wanted, with the exception of whatever "disappeared" after they went to bed...;)

That sounds like my house too! I never limited their candy consumption but they did have to have help to eat it all. ;)

I never restricted my children's Halloween candy. My DD on the other hand allowed her daughters to have what the wanted on Halloween night. The next day they could choose 20 pieces each.

We dig through it for a few days and then we send it to the fire station with my husband. My youngest barfed all over Monday night from eating too much junk, so I probably could have done a better job limitting her! She hasn't asked for any since!

I just read about bit-o-honey and now I am going to go get their pumpkins and dig around for some! Yummy!!!!!

Honestly, we get soooo much from all of the various parties that the kids have at school/dance/gymnastics that even if they didn't trick-or-treat we would have way way way too much.

My kids pretty much get free reign on Halloween night, with the warning they WILL get sick if they eat too much. (this has happened in the past and they remember)

The next days they get about 5 pieces a day (we are talking small candies, 1 starburst just doesn't cut it LOL). Mommy takes care of the chocolate and makes her own stash.

By the end of this week, leftovers go w/Daddy to the ship for him to share. :)

I let my kids each have a couple of pieces on Friday night.. Then i let them eat as much as they wanted on Saturday.. THe little one got sick. :rolleyes1 After that they have been getting a few each day. Most of it is gone already... Thanks to me. :lmao:
