UPDATED LIST: :dance3:

We seemed to have fallen off the list some how. It will be me(Amanda), dis sister Annette (acourtwdw), dismom Lorraine and dis dad Clare.

Does anyone know if DCL publishes nutritional information on-line?

I don't think it is going to be a problem, but I'm newly diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, so I need watch what I eat.

Dont forget if you are insulin dependent to bring an extra rx for your insulin just in case you forget it or run out and if you will need to get a sharps container from your room stewart for your needles.

Summer:

Your profile says you're from Washington; DC or State? I assume state since you refer to we Easterners.

We're in the DC suburbs - Odenton, MD, near Fort Meade and the NSA.

I can't wait to meet everyone in person.

Yes, Washington State. We are in Olympia, about an hour south of Seattle.

We were able to visit DC back in '08 during the Cherry Blossom Festival and had such a great time! What a beautiful part of the country!

Good morning everyone - happy September 1st! That was a fast summer.

Nothing much new to report. Our weekend is predicted to be pretty chilly beginning Saturday but in the upper 80's both today and tomorrow. DH is heading back to Clare and scout camp for the weekend to run the trading post. So, home alone with the dogs - and that grand pup too.

Thanks everyone for the nutritional info advice. I'm not insulin dependent, but I will need remember to bring plenty of my meds for the trip.

My diet is very reasonable, there really isn't anything that is totally disallowed, it is really a game of making trade-offs and portion control, but as they say "forewarned is forearmed."

Thanks again,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line® vacation. We look forward to sailing with you and want to take this opportunity to share with you some important information as you prepare to pack for your vacation.

We’ll be celebrating Halloween on our ships this year with several themed events, including traditional trick-or-treating and a special costume parade for children on the following sail dates:

Disney Magic® - October 22, 2011 and October 29, 2011
Disney Wonder® - October 23, 2011 and October 30, 2011

Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes for these special events. There will even be a costume contest for our adult guests on one evening with prizes awarded based on the following categories:

Funniest
Best Group
Most Spooky
Most Original
Most Disney

More information on themed nights, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom.

All Guests are invited to wear costumes; however, we ask that you choose costumes which are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

Again, we look forward to sailing with you and hope you have a magical cruise.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew of Disney Cruise Line®

Awesome, however, I am not bringing a costume.....but I think the kids will have a great time.

Thanks Ana for sharing that! And thanks to DCL for planning ahead and letting us know. I honestly didn't think we would see anything before October.

Nothing else to report from here. Have a great evening!

Now, at least, we know when Halloween will be celebrated on board (October 29) and it won't be on Monday, which is Formal Night (October 31).

Now, at least, we know when Halloween will be celebrated on board (October 29) and it won't be on Monday, which is Formal Night (October 31).

We got the same email. It states sail dates but does not say that is Halloween will be on the 29th. I am assuming until we know otherwise Hween will be on the 31st. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I plan on calling DCL tomorrow to verify. You are right acourtwdw that it says SAILING date....I for one will throw a fit, and I mean a HUGE fit with DCL if they actually celebrated it on the 29th. I mean, some people dont even get their luggage before dinner so how in the world would they be able to dress up and go Trick or Treating?!?! And the first day there is way too much going on to actually do it then. That would be a huge mistake on their part and I feel they are not that stupid (please DCL, don't prove me wrong!)
So...I for one and against them changing a holiday...if Halloween is on the 31st, we should celebrate it on the 31st....JMHO.

You've got a point there.

Happy Friday! And to a 3 day weekend at that :cool1:!

You are all correct - it actually doesn't say anything about wearing costumes to dinner, just that there will be activities. More suspense. But, no cosumes here so we will be in 'street' clothes, whenever and whatever happens.

Enjoy!!! Eight more weeks..........

Morning....thank goodness it Friday :dance3: looking forward to the 3 day and sleeping in.....

Anyone have any plans for the weekend....??

Nothing really here...we are discussing cleaning the basement :sad2: It really needs it and I want to "dust" off my treadmill....so maybe I will be willing to work at least one day on it.

Have a good one all

Denise:banana:

Do we know how many people we need to get gifts for or how many families? Do you know how that works? Do we get gifts per person or per family? I need a number.

Ok I just read my email on the Halloween and the way I read it it sounds like the costume parade and trick or treating will be on the 29th....
I'm just sayin that's the way I am reading it??? :confused3

Denise

I read it as the sail date...there's no way we can do it on the 29th...I personally would rather do halloween on halloween..but if they do it on the 30th I won't be so mad...

so does anyone know if they'll serve lobster at Topsiders on formal night...I don't really want to dress the boys up and myself its not easy being so dressed up with the kids...

Could you change your Palo dinner to Thursday night? They do serve lobster there (or they did the last time I was in Palo for that menu). We have actually never gone to Topsiders for dinner - I have tried but DH just likes to go to the dining room - it is actually a push to get him to go to Palo for dinner.
