Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

Why all the credits? Nice surprise but I would like to know why. I didn't get a credit.

I never get anything....if my name pops up for some credits....they just shake their heads and move on to the next person....:rolleyes1

I am going rebook on board, but most likely will not sail until 2014...I'm hoping it will be on the Fantasy...I really want my daughter and grandaughter to come along on that cruise....so will see how things pan out....

Crazy day at work today.....tomorrow will be just as crazy....nothnig else to report, except I'm liken the way the tickers are lookin:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DH and I and my parents will be attending the cruise meet at 3pm after all. I wasn't sure so I was waiting until I really thought we were going to join you all.

So our info is this:

Me... Ana 36
DH... Rudy 40
My mom... Ada 70
My dad... Felix 68

We are staying in staterooms 6612 and 6614 (connecting rooms) so if anyone wants to see the rooms, just let me know. Cat 5C - Verandah.

I think I am going to the FE but I am not 100% sure yet. I will know by next week or so.

How much do you need to put down to book on board and is it per person? And do you know if you can add people to your cabin afterwards?

Okay! I've decided! Please add me to the FE list. Sorry I took so long to decide. I've been having lots of personal issues that I've been really overwhelmed with lately but thinking about it... getting things for FE's will make me happy and get my mind off things. So please add me to the list for my fam.

Thanks!

Welcome to all our new families! :cheer2: I'm glad to see our group growing! I'm Summer, and I'll be traveling with my hubby, Bryan, our four kids, and my mom and dad. No pets for us - our house is crazy enough as it is! :rotfl:

The kids and I are getting so excited for the trip! It's pretty much all I think about most days. :thumbsup2 We'll be arriving in Florida on the 23rd and spending a week at Port Orleans Riverside before the cruise.

Hubby and I are planning to dive in Grand Cayman, so we are currently working in our SCUBA certification. We just bought all our basic gear last week - and man, that stuff is expensive! :scared1:

I'm glad all you Easterners are surviving Irene! We are enjoying the last few days of summer here in Washington before school starts next week.

Gail, I'm so glad that your Dad is doing better! :yay:

Keep the posts coming, guys! I love hearing your updates!

It's hump day!! For this M-F lady anyway! I can not believe that today is the last day of August - how did that happen? While it means that we are closer to our cruise - it also means summer is coming to an end. Time just seems to go so fast. My grandma used to say that actually - I thought she was nuts but at this stage of my life I think she is right!

And - I lied and apologize to all of you - we upgraded our cabin last night to 5648. I just asked DH because I was actually thinking not and he wanted to so there you have it - it was HIS idea!!

With that, I have nothing else to report. Have a good day everyone!

Sumlee, have you ever stayed at port orleans riverside before? We loved it! Its such a nice place! We stayed way back in 2004.
Its exciting you and your hubby are getting certified. My dh loves to dive but I can't swim so hes always stuck trying to find another buddy...lol. You aren't kidding about the dive stuff being expensive! And he normally brings most of it with him on vacay, he refuses to wear anyone elses because it doesn't fit right he claims(he would know more the I)... If you ever get the chance do the dolphin dive at Anthonys Key resort in Hondorus, he loved that, and we bought a video of it. So cool! Last year in Oahu he did some diving at Hanauma Bay(lots to see), and the shark cave. He loved the night manta ray dive on the big island!

I did a little researching and saw we will be in Key West for the last day of Fantasy Fest and in Cozumel for All Souls Day. This may have already been disgussed but I wonder if anything will be going on. Seems that fantasy fest can get wild and thats not our cup of tea...lol Does anyone know anything about these events?

Hey, we're going to be neighbors - we're in #5650.

Don't worry, we're quiet and we're non-smokers.

Good job with the researching. We are not doing much in KW anyway other than walking over to the winery so it won't make much difference. In the 3 times I have been to KW, I have never seen anything wild, but we get back on the ship before dark/sunset. We are heading to Nachi Cocum for a beach day in Cozumel. Guess I will go and do some poking around.

Ana...I'll add you to the FE...I feell the same way..pre-planning and making FE gifts helps me take my mind off all the personal DOO-DOO ....Disney calms me...wooo sa...

those of you that got credits back from DCL, did you see it on your cc or will it be an onboard credit??? We got a credit according to our DCL page, but I have not seen anything on my cc.

I might be able to shed a little light on the credit issues. When I booked this cruise back in 2009, the Government Taxes and Fees were 167.38. After I swapped cabins this morning (yeah, I did it again but only changed cabins) I noticed that the fees are now 144.68. I knew that when I saw the amount on my credit card for the change that it was not as much as I anticipated that something was up and this is what my research showed me. I would presume that everyone will see credits (depending on what you paid to start with) on your cards but you could also call your TA or DCL and ask when and how the refunds will appear.

Nope, we've never stayed at POR. Actually, this will be our very first trip to WDW! I have read so many nice things online about POR, plus, they offer a trundle bed to sleep a total of 5 people in a standard room. So with baby in a pack n play, it will be perfect! We can't wait! :cool1:

Yeah, we are super excited (and a little nervous, I'll admit) to dive for the first time! I think we will leave our gear at home and just rent this time; I'm afraid luggage for 6 people for two weeks plus Halloween costumes is going to be a nightmare as it is! :scared1: Thanks for all the dive site recommendations! We will actually be cruising Hawaii in April, so I will have to look those up! I have snorkeled only in hanauma bay once and it was fantastic! :woohoo: Will your hubby be diving in GC this time?

Summer:

Your profile says you're from Washington; DC or State? I assume state since you refer to we Easterners.

We're in the DC suburbs - Odenton, MD, near Fort Meade and the NSA.

I can't wait to meet everyone in person.

Does anyone know if DCL publishes nutritional information on-line?

I don't think it is going to be a problem, but I'm newly diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, so I need watch what I eat.

Timmer my understanding is there is a form online you can send to DCL..and/or you can talk to the chefs before you dine...I know i've read plenty of trip reports that people have to watch what they eat...I say start by calling DCL and asking them...sorry

Timmer - there are lots of options for anyone looking to eat healthier. Your servers are a great place to start. There used to be menus posted on the DU site as well so you can get an idea of what is offered. Part of being type 2 is knowing what you can and can't eat and what causes your body to spike (different for some than it is others oddly enough). DH is type 2 and heaven knows - he finds more to eat than he should.

But seems to me I also remember someone posting on the main board in the last month or so asking the same thing. My suggestion would be to call DCL directly as they may have exactly what you are looking for.

Edited to add: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2751618&highlight=nutritional+information
Turns out it is Weight Watchers (which is by no means bad) info but there are menus as well so it may help.
