Sorry Annette and I have been MIA for the last week. It has been one of the worst weeks. I posted last week that i needed a pick me up well let me tell you about the week weve had and its not anywhere near the end of the drama yet.
Last week Annette had some back pain so she took some OTC med and thought it would go away. On Wednesday she called in sick to work at 12:30 because she could not put on her socks, I was working late and she called me to come home because she could not get out of bed she was in so much pain. So i took her to Hosptial #1 they said it was siatica(sp) gave her an injection of steriods and sent her home with steriods and pain killers telling her that it would be better in a few days. Friday came and she now had extreme cold feet, 15 out of 10 pain and cramping of her calfs. So we went to Hospital #2. They tried to take xrays but the pain was to great and they started to give her pain meds. A couple of hours later and alot of pain meds they did a couple xrays, blood work and a doppler. They said everything looked fine and gave her different pain medication and told her she would be better in a few days and to give it time. Over the weekend she continued to get worse. Monday night when i got home her pain was even worse, her feet were blue and she could not wiggle her toes. So we went to hospital #3 which she is still in. They took more xrays, did an MRI and she is waiting to be scheduled for surgery. She has a ruptured disc in her back and stenosis. They say that if she has the surgery she may have the feeling back in her feet within 24 hours. When I left her at 11:00 tonight she has absoultley no control of her feet what so ever and the only way they move is if you pick them up and move them.
We spoke to the resident for the surgeon last night and she said she should be able to go but they are not sure until after they do the surgery. If it gets any worse before the surgery she may have other complications. Needless to say I cant sleep and I'm so worried about her.
You never know how much you depend on someone to be around until they are not. I dont know why being home alone is bothering me so much because she is suppose to be in Minnesota this week at a corporate meeting so she would not be here anyway.
Thanks for letting me ramble, now back to happy things.
Oh, PS...DH and I completed our open water scuba certification!!!woo-hoo! I'm really pretty proud of myself, especially considering what a bad experience I had on the first day! I can't say that I really enjoyed it, as I was still nervous and really struggled with controlling my buoyancy, but I passed off every skill and went as deep as 45 feet, so I'm feeling pretty good!
I think once we get out in that warm, clear Caribbean water (without the stress off passing off skills to an instructor), I'll relax a bit more and have some fun! That's my plan anyway.

Happy Saturday! Four weeks to go! Didn't think we would ever get here and now time can just slow down a tad.
Annette - hugs and pixie dust from us up here in Cadillac for a speedy recovery.
Amanda - hugs to you too, and your folks as it is so hard to watch and wait.
It is a tropical 37 degrees here this morning and headed to 50. But at least it isn't raining (or heaven forbid snowing) and we are in for a bit of some warmer weather next week, might even make it back to 70! I keep trying to lay things out for the cruise but I end up wearing them again. The packing list is complete at this point so it will all come together.
Take care and enjoy your day!
I only have 19.5 "working" days left before we sail. I wanted Friday off, but someone beat me to it, but the boss is letting me take 1/2 day off...which will work...when I leave work, my plan is to head and get my mani and pediThen when I get home straighten the house and then work on all last minute packing.
Bill: we received a notice that they were going to do Halloween on the 29th, trick or treating at least....havent heard anything since.
