Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

ok so what all happens on the halloween cruise, is there trick or treating for the kids or anything like that.

We have been to disney during the MNSSHP, but never on a cruise and I cant let my kids miss out on Trick or treating, o kcant let me miss trick or treating they are just along for the ride.

I think you can enter us in the FE should not be an issue, if she doesnt want to then I can take care of it. Not as crafty but better with the computer.

Would love to get some shirts made this year, we have never done it but thought it would be fun.

Ok so we are new to cruising, kind of, we went on a 3 day last year and loved it.
so I have some questions for you vets,
1.what is the captains dinner. 2. How dressed up do we have to be for dinner, is it really formal ( suits and ties for all or just adults)
3. How good is Palo, should we do dinner or brunch, can we do 2 brunches if they are that good. 4. what kind of shows do they have on board, on the 3 day there was a show each night.

we are looking at doing the island tour and snorkeling with stingrays on Grand cayman and we wanted to do the Fury catamaran sail, snorkel and beach party on Cozumel. the latter one doesnt get back in until 530 and we may miss our dinner. any thoughts on them

OK, I will give your questions a shot. Dress code seems to be a hotter than hot topic but I will give you my opinion. First for your questions.

1. Captains Dinner - I would think that is formal night which is in question with us because that is also Halloween. I called the Castaway Club line last week - the week before and they had not heard anything specific as to if it was changing. There is also a Captains Welcome Reception on formal night in the atrium with free drinks prior to dinner.

2. Attire - Formal, semi-formal and our Palo dinner - DH will wear a tux and I will wear a long dress, I enjoy getting all dressed up. DH, not so much but he is a good sport about it. I follow the suggested attire for the dining rooms - others may not. DH wears Dockers and either a polo shirt or a button down, I will wear a skirt or sundress.

3. Palo is great. You are allowed to book 1 of each (brunch, dinner and tea) but it never hurts to ask to be placed on their waitlist if someone cancels. It has happened to others. IMHO - brunch is the best meal on the ship but that being said, we are doing both brunch and dinner this trip.

4. There will be a show each night, either a production or comedian, juggler, musician or some combination of each. The acts that they get onboard also do an adult show and a family caberet show. I have not done the family shows but those adult shows are a hoot.

Something that might help you - on the header for Dreams Unlimited above, under the Staterooms tab are Navigators from past cruises that will give you further info and an idea of what may be. Some things change, and some don't.

Halloween - this is our first Halloween cruise so I can't offer up much there, particularly on the kids activities but I do know there is Trick or Treating. Also, people (adults and kids) wear their costumes to dinner (which is the formal night issue).

And, as an FYI - Cozumel night is usually Pirate Night (and the night you spoke about missing dinner). Just want you to know.

OK, I think that is enough blabbering from me for now. Hope some of it makes sense.

Morning:

my comments on formal night, I will wear a dressy pant suite and wally will be wearing just a suite and tie.....we did this on our first crusie together. For Palo dinner, tho, trying to remember, I think Wally wore his suite and I wore a pair of black slacks and blouse/blazer.

I agree with Gail, I really prefer the Brunch for Palo, IMO I just thought that they had a better selection....I was not that impressed with the dinner, so I dont think I will book on dinner on this cruise. I would however, would like to do 2 brunches.....I might add my name to the cancel list:thumbsup2

Well our temps will be 98 today.....will spend my time in the house, I will around 8pm tonite water my tomato plants....

Nothing else going on

stay cool:cool2:

I don't know how you feel about outside excursion vendors but you might want to check out Nativeway sports in Grand Cayman. We are doing their Rays, Reef and Rum Point tour, will be on a boat to Stingray City where they control the number of passengers. I have seen boats at SC that hold well over 100 people - takes way too long to get that many people in the water, and then you have to stand around with all of them too. Not my cup of tea. http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/
This is our third time with them. We also did their island tour/stingray city excursion once but this one is my favorite.

We will do Nachi Cocum in Cozumel, just an all inclusive beach day.

Good Morning! Hope all those in this dang heat are doing OK and staying cool. We have some relief in site - as in cooling off to better than 79 at night. It is still supposed to be in the upper 80's today but that beats the mid 90's.

Nothing much else to report from here so stay cool!

Have fun - and stay cool.

No rain here today, they said maybe but I am not thinking so, yet anyway. Probably about the time I walk out of the grocery with bags of stuff but it would be welcome as it is dry here.

What a difference a few miles make(100) I rained for about 4 hours here in the middle of the mitten. I almost felt like fall today when it was raining.

Raining here...since 2pm! Lots of lightning too....
This week has been so busy. We stayed over at Kidani Village from Mon-Thurs and had a really nice time. DH had a few days off and we got to spend it there and the kids were so happy!
Thursday and today I spent baking and decorating for two clients...I was crazy enough to do a wedding and a shower in the same weekend:eek:
And now the kids have vacation Bible School starting Monday...
I cannot believe July is almost over!

And what will you be doing 14 weeks from today??? Umm - I will need to check my calendar!

So, no rain at all yesterday here in Cadillac. In fact, it stayed in the 70's all morning and early afternoon and then it got muggy and up to the mid 80's. I can see clouds headed toward MI now on the radar but they are still south of us by several counties. No offense to the middle of the mitten but you all can have the rain today as we have a lake day planned on a pontoon boat.

Well, I guess I should run the vac and tidy the kitchen. Why does it seem that those tasks always need done???

Afternoon:

Gee Gail, what will we be doing 14 weeks from today???;)

Just got home from work.....Wally had to work today also, he is now on his way home, most likely will just go and do some grocery shopping....and thats about it.

Totally over cast here today, was drizzling on my way home....its ok, we really need the rain, plus it has cooled down some...only in the 80's today...

enjoy the rest of the weekend
