Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

Thanks for all the kind words and pixie dust!:goodvibes

I told DH that we are cruising no matter what! LOL! And my boys want to go so badly, so we really dont want to cancel. So here is to positive thinking!!!:cloud9:

Anyone hear what they plan to do about formal night being on Halloween?? Seems strange that they would keep it that way.

kamgen= if there's a will theres a way? :wizard: here's some pixie dust..

I know about budgeting since I am a one income family..just me and the boys. if I had to fly to a port.. i think our cruising would be every other year...that's why I dont plan on moving until we are ready to buy an RV and live on the road..yes I said it..:hippie:

Did you upgrade your seats for the extra leg room? We did that on our January flight and they changed the plane to a 757 (3 rows each side) from the 2-3-2 (or however many seats were in the middle) and I ended up with a window seat - hated it. While my legs had room, there was no hip room at all, I was hot and miserable most of the way home. But, whatever it was we got, included 2 bags each. That was a good thing - and I upgraded our flights to first on the way to Florida so we had free bags then as well.

This time I will have to pay for 3 bags I am guessing but 2 for sure. I did start a list and will try and cut down on my 'day' clothes as that is what I always seem to over pack on. I don't want to do laundry on the cruise although I expect to before we leave WDW so that what we wear there is clean. Going to Palo one night helps as well as something will be worn twice.

Well, DS and DDil are bring dinner over this evening. Not so sure what we are having but I told them no oven (as I have no air) so I am having something on the grill. I can manage to make mashed potatoes and throw an obligatory green veggie on the table without much effort, stress or heat generation. :thumbsup2

Take care, enjoy your evening and stay cool!

We did up grade for the "stretch seating" , I fly frontier airlines a lot going to colorado to visit my daughter, and I upgrade to stretch on thoes flights, $25 each way, United charges $49 each way:eek:....talk about highway or should I say skyway robbery!!! As if the cost of airfare isnt enough...

Oh well, the price for a few extra inches of leg room!!!.....priceless:goodvibes

gotta run

If you purchased the Premier Travel 'add-on' - you also each get 2 free (well, guess that is a relative term) checked bags each. And I agree on the skyway robbery.

I have gotten past my 'snit' with Delta - just going to rent a car as a backup plan and not worry. It is only 120 miles from one airport to the other. Just not worth the effort.

Enjoy - and stay cool. It is only Monday for about 15 more hours :woohoo:!

We had thunderstorms but no wind to speak of. I work in an older building on the third floor and can generally hear wind and nothing yesterday. But there certainly was lots of rumbling going on. Sunny this morning and not supposed to be so warm.

I am another week closer - 15 to be exact.

hey all...weather over here is cloudy...we've been having thunderstorms...but didn't catch any rain yesterday?? we'll see what today brings...

Beautiful day so far, just got back from the pool...it was relaxing but nothing like sitting at the Quiet Cove! LOL!:goodvibes

Hello everyone. Cruising with my daughter, kamgen and family. Can't wait to cruise with my grandsons and to play some Bingo!
I don't post a lot but will try and check in from time to time.

Beautiful day so far, just got back from the pool...it was relaxing but nothing like sitting at the Quiet Cove! LOL!:goodvibes

It is about that time of day I head to the Cove Cafe for a coffee - partly as a snack and partly as a pick me up (read keep me up through dinner :lmao:). I think it is kind of cute when you see kids sleeping with their faces on their plates (clean of course) but it wouldn't look so good on me!

I was cleaning this weekend and came across a eye glass band and was worried I would loose it so I got a tote bag out and put it in there, along with the Bonine left from the PC cruise so I guess, less the suitcase, I have started packing! Guess tonight I should hunt down my Cove Cafe punch card and get it in there as well - don't want to forget to take it.

Current temp here is 77 with sunny skies and 57% humidity - it is going to be a beautiful evening!

Well glad I'm not the only one thinking about packing and putting things together when I think about it....I was thinking of doing a "dry run" on packing to see if I can get away with one check in and two carry on's....if not, I guess I will have to bite the bullet and pay the extra cash to check in the second bag...I dont want United to go bankrupt if they dont get all my money for this trip.....I should have the plane to myself for the money its costing me to fly there!!!:thumbsup2:goodvibes

Well its not to bad out now....not so much humidity as yesterday...and tomorrow they are only calling for it to be in the 70's...nice little break.

I found the coffee card - it only has one punch/stamp but that is one punch on the way to a freebie. So that is in the old Castaway Club bag.

And, speaking of those CC gifts (for those that get them) mine is up for graps on the ship unless they change what they are between now and then. I will never use the bag and have no desire to give it house room - or luggage room. The drink containers as well. DH is diabetic and doesn't need the rice krispie treat and I don't like them so if you want them, I will happily give them to you. Otherwise, I will see if the cabin steward won't take them back.

Well, nice evening although someone let in a dang mosquito (stupid dogs for not knowing how to open and shut a slider without letting one in) and I have been dinner. I am just not quick enough with the 'death by clapping' action to get one.

Have a good evening!

My mom would love the bag and stuff! She collects tote bags! LOL!! And since most of the time we travel together, I take the cc gifts! :rotfl:

I can't seem to even think about packing yet...too much going on between now and then. I will start on Oct 1st...or maybe the week before. I could pack like my mom, she takes 7 sundresses, Pj's and a swim suit!:lmao:

Happy hump day! Lovely morning here - 54 degrees and might get to 70 today. Love this but the weekend appears to be back in the upper 80's - not my favorite kind of weather.

I am pricing luggage..as I threw away my humungo suitcase...I saw one for $50 at Ross. it was HUGE..and it should be enough to fit my clothes and some of my kids clothes.

last time I checked in 6bags, and carried on 4 bags.

Since I'm by myself this time..I'll probably check in 6bags and carry on 2 bookbags. 1 bag will be the diaper bag/purse/nebulizer and 1 bag will have all our bottled waters :) but I will definitely have the stroller..which one I'm not sure yet..I want to bring the double stroller again not becasue Miguel will need it but I can use the extra space to put the bags in for boarding. I don't know you all might see me looking crazy at the terminal :(

I'm trying to teach miguel to walk by me..he does good for awhile but he has a tendency to dart off. I know he'll be all excited at the terminal..because last time he was running around and only calmed down when mickey and pluto came out.

We are probably going to wear our swim suits under our clothes. So I don't have to pack swimwear.

I typically start packing like 2-3weeks before my trips..I'm so crazy when it comes to trips. then the day before I repack everything...:rolleyes1

This sunday I'll be working on my FE gifts..I can't do anything with the kids around...so their dad will have them and I'll get a couple hours to do my things.

Gee, you sound like me when it comes to packing, I normally pack a few days before with a check list, to make sure I have everything, then I go thru the list, I have it checked off, but did I actually pack it mode......so then I unpack to make sure its in there,(which it always is)....
I think I get like this, as one year, years ago, our limo picking us up at our house came early, and we were running around (think Home Alone) and I forgot to pack all my combs and brushes:eek: ....none....I had to make due with what my daughter had packed....which did not really "work" for me.....so I think I get crazy about that kind of stuff.....plus I think I just have a tad bit of OCD in me....:rolleyes1 just a little!!!

:welcome: to our merry little band - except you were kinda here all along.

SIX bags - I need to let DH read this as he thinks anymore than one is too many. I don't listen to him and pretty much do as I choose ;).

Beautiful day here, why can't it be like this everyday until it is time to go??

well if I had to fly..I'm sure that it would be less bags. well you know what thats a lie..because I flew twice to chicago this year and I took 4 bags and I didn't even have enough clothes. :confused3

I am doing this in 3 bags. DH will wear a rented tux so that knocks out a lot of space. I have really short hair now and could manage not bringing my shampoo/conditioner but I will still need a blow dryer (beats the full size dryer, rollers and iron from my past). I just don't think I can do daytime clothing (even wearing the same capris a few days) and dinner stuff in just one bag. And then how on earth would I get my souvineers home? If I make it, I make it but 3 is the plan and the amount of money I have budgeted.

Well I'm hoping that I can get away with 3, but there may be a possibility I will take 4. The last time we cruised together we had 4, I had 2 when I went with a girlfriend.....so I'm thinking we may up with 4......I'm just a chronic over-packer:thumbsup2

It was beautiful out today....too bad its not going to last...back in the 90's by this weekend.

later all
