I'm getting REALLY annoyed with Hallmark's new multi-movie format. I know it's their way of hooking a viewer into watching their channel more often. I just prefer standalone movies. This recent "Holidazed" was too drawn out. (Although, it was great to see Virginia Madsen.)

I kinda agree. It seems like most of the new movies have been in this format for a couple of months. I liked it at first, but it's repeated enough now that I'd like it to end. :) However, I guess Providence Falls will be another series as well for August.

I never got into the Holidazed series. I caught a couple episodes of Christmas at Sea, which were fun to watch.

Yes, Providence Falls is another three parter. This must be the new Hallmark CEO's idea to do all these series.

It starts with Providence Falls: Chance of a Lifetime on tonight at 8pm ET/PT, 7CT.

Starring: Katie Stevens, Lachlan Quarmby and Evan Roderick.

This is apparently based on a three part book series that's available on Amazon.

Hope that means this series is more in-depth than the usual stuff.

Description:
In one century she loved him madly, and in another she wants nothing to do with him
In 1844 Ireland, Liam O’Connor, a rogue and a thief, fell madly in love with a squire’s daughter and unwittingly altered the future. Shy and naive Cora McLeod thought Liam was the answer to her prayers. But the angels disagreed and they’ve been waiting for the right moment in time to step in.
Now Liam finds himself reunited with his beloved Cora in Providence Falls, North Carolina. The angels have given Liam a task. He must make sure Cora falls in love with another man—the one she was supposed to marry before Liam interfered. But this Cora is very different from the innocent girl who fell for Liam in the past. She’s a cop and has a confidence and independence he wasn’t expecting. She doesn’t remember Liam or their past lives, nor is she impressed with his attempts to guide her in any way.
Liam wants Cora for himself, but with his soul hanging in the balance, he must choose between a stolen moment in time or an eternity of damnation.

I cannot wait for Countdown to Christmas! Looking more closely, I think this is the 2024 schedule, however. The dates and days don't match (Oct 18th is a Saturday this year whereas above it says Friday) and also some of the movies above premiered last year so wouldn't be new this year (e.g., Hannukah on the Rocks, Chiefs Love Story, Three Wiser Men and a Boy). Side note I liked all of these especially the first so well worth watching and I'll watch again.

I found this unofficial list tracking everything that has been announced so far but doesn't seem like Hallmark has published their official printable guide yet. Should be soon though!

My apologies. I've removed the incorrect information.

Thank you for sharing the unofficial list.

@Kennywood & @2xcited2sleep : Thank you BOTH for keeping an eye out for the Countdown to Christmas list. 🎄🥰

My work schedule changed a while back and my "reminders" have been appalling. Some have been posted almost when the movie starts, or the next day as a "would have been a reminder had it been posted on time." :headache: When I do remember to post early, it's on Tuesday, when I have a day off, instead of Thursday or Friday when I think that would be a reminder.

Thanks for this link, I found my favorite Hallmark source is back and up and running: SleepyKittyPaw. She retired from posting last year. She had THE most comprehensive lists for every upcoming Christmas movie. But, she wanted her time and life back as her blog took over her life. I had a feeling that all that extra time on her hands would be too much. :lmao:So, she's somewhat back and posting about other genres of movies too, but on another social media format, similar to Instagram in style, which may be better.

Apparently, you guys aren't the only ones. According to SleepyKittyPaw:

Ho! Ho! Holiday Viewing!‬ ‪@sleepykittypaw.bsky.social‬
PROVIDENCE FALLS: CHANCE OF A LIFETIME got off to dreadful start on Hallmark Channel Saturday night with lowest ratings of 2025 at just 695k live viewers. It was terrible night for cable overall. Even with this meagre number, Hallmark still most-watched entertainment show (non-news/sports) on cable

That's too bad. It wasn't a bad movie at all. Give me an Irish accent and I'm hooked anyway. :p (Kinda funny because the lead actor is Australian!) Anyway, the story hooked me so I'll be watching part 2 tomorrow night. I'm also intrigued as to when Henry Cavill's brother (Charles) shows up. I think he plays one of the characters back in time but I'm not sure he's been shown yet. I do like having some new actors, although Brendan Penny is somewhere in Providence Falls according to the cast list.

We'll see how I feel after watching another two hours this weekend and still won't know how it all ends. :teeth:

It's currently floating at 6.5 on the IMDb .com, which is good for a Hallmark movie. SleepyKittyPaw said on a different post that the Providence Falls series wasn't well promoted. So, that could be one of the reasons for the dip in ratings. Usually Hallmark knows there is a post-Christmas in July withdrawal that sets in, and they hit us hard with ads bring us back to summertime for August with a variety of movies. As this is a series, they couldn't do that very well.

Here is the description for Part 2 of tonight's movie:
Providence Falls: An Impossible Promise on tonight at 8pm ET/PT, 7CT.

Starring: Katie Stevens, Lachlan Quarmby and Evan Roderick.

Description: this episode will see detectives Cora and Liam facing a challenging murder case that tests their skills and their friendship.

As the investigation unfolds, the tension rises when Liam begins to encourage Cora to explore a romantic connection with Finn Walsh, a man believed to be her fated match. This unexpected push from Liam adds an intriguing twist to the storyline, as Cora grapples with her feelings for both Finn and the complexities of their current case. The dynamics between the three characters will bring both drama and heartfelt moments to the screen.

Viewers can expect a blend of mystery and romance as Cora and Liam work together to uncover the truth behind the murder. The episode will delve into themes of destiny and choice

For those wondering if these series themed movies will ever end, probably Hallmark wondered that too. Four days ago, it was announced that they (re-)hired a person as the new head of programming. (So, we just have to get through all the series that are already filmed.)

From Variety.com: (<- Full article at link)

Michelle Vicary Returns to Hallmark as Head of Programming as Brand Evolves With ‘One Hallmark’ Vision (EXCLUSIVE)
Michelle Vicary is returning to Hallmark, this time as head of programming. In her new role, the longtime exec will oversee all production and original programming across Hallmark’s content platforms.
Vicary was part of Hallmark’s media business since its inception. After serving multiple positions, she exited the company as executive VP of programming in 2021 after 22 years at the company.
During her tenure, she spearheaded some of the most successful series and films for the company, including “When Calls the Heart,” “Good Witch,” and “Chesapeake Shores.”
Vicary expanded the company’s commitment to diverse storytelling, hiring multiple LGBTQ+ actors and greenlighting movies like “Wedding Every Weekend” and “The Christmas House,” the latter of which earned the network its first GLAAD Media Award nomination. One of her main focuses while at the company was to hire actors of all ages and from all beliefs and backgrounds, including Holly Robinson Peete. Vicary oversaw the development of Peete’s “Christmas in Evergreen” film franchise, and the network’s first-ever unscripted series, “Meet the Peetes.” The hire comes at the perfect time as the company delves further into unscripted storytelling with “Finding Mr. Christmas,” “Celebrations With Lacey Chabert,” “Baked With Love: Holiday” and more to come.
Vicary was also responsible for introducing some of the most popular actors into the Hallmark family, including Tyler Hynes, Jonathan Bennett, Luke MacFarlane, Kimberley Sustad, Nikki DeLoach, Paul Campbell, Ashley Williams, Erin Cahill and Andrew Walker.
As she reenters Hallmark now, four years after her exit, it’s a bit of a different world than it once was. Vicary will report to Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott. Since he began in that role, the retail and entertainment brands have become more of a cohesive unit than ever before.
“We call it One Hallmark. We are one brand. My job is to think about that opportunity through a consumer lens and deliver incredible content, incredible products and incredible experiences that leverage the full breadth of the brand. And so the future, at this point in my mind, is pretty much unlimited,” says Abbott. The fandom element is something they are leaning into heavily for the first time — the sold-out cruises, the Hallmark Christmas Experience, and just last month, their first-ever Hallmark panel at San Diego Comic-Con, which filled a 2,000-person room. “You’re going to hear us talk less and less about our individual outputs or operating units. It’s not just about the greeting card business or our movie business. It’s about the Hallmark brand, and how we are tying all of those things together in really unique ways.” [. . .]
