Hallmark Christmas in July 🎄 comfort & joy ❤️

I finally watched The Christmas Ornament. It was touching but I enjoyed it much more the first time around last year. I did love the kind lady at the end who offers to be a source of funding for Kathy's new cookie business. I'd enjoy trying her sugar cookies :) I just Googled the cast. Kathy was played by Kellie Martin who was Becca on Life Goes On. Chad Lowe's character Jesse on that show truly always touched my heart plus he was so handsome! Back to this movie. I loved the kindness of Scott, Kathy's late husband in his card to his wife that was delivered to her with the butterfly ornament. Good message. Now onto more movies! :santa:

I used to watch that with my Mom!

Kellie also played Christy in this series that I think you'd like. It's based on the novel by Catherine Marshall, which is in turn based on her mother's real life as a young missionary/teacher in rural Appalachia in 1912.

I agree. I read Christy. I think flyingdumbo127 will like it. :thumbsup2

BTW: that massive list of movies you posted (created by some nice person on FB) has this listed as GAC.

It's correct in the schedule I posted last night. (Also below.) I remember I had to double check something and correct it. That must have been it.

The weekly schedules are time consuming to create. I thought I could just do a few copy & pastes, done. But when I decided to add the cast and descriptions, I found every network has their own articles by different writers and they are all formatted differently. And every time I think I've come across a "complete list," I find out there is something missing. Or a date or movie got changed since they posted, or is just incorrect. :headache:

:teacher: Thanks for helping to keep the schedule correct. That goes for anyone else too, who notices something's not correct. :flower3:

SATURDAY, 10pm ET/ 9CT
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries: Five More Minutes
starring Nikki Deloach and David Haydn-Jones.

mandy200587 (who's at work right now & couldn't properly post this,) sent me this blurb about Five More Minutes that's on tonight:

https://musicrow.com/2021/11/scotty-mccreerys-five-more-minutes-inspires-new-hallmark-movie/

Scotty McCreery’s heartwarming hit single “Five More Minutes” is the inspiration behind a brand new TV movie of the same name from Hallmark that will air Nov. 20 as part of their Miracles of Christmas celebration.

Written by Nikki Deloach and Megan McNulty, Five More Minutes stars Deloach and David Haydn-Jones as a woman’s Christmas wish is answered in unexpected ways when her late grandfather’s journal turns up and reveals an untold romance. McCreery serves as an Executive Producer on the new film, which airs at 9 p.m. CT on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel.

Released as the first song from his Gold-certified album, Seasons Change, the 2x Platinum “Five More Minutes” reached No. 2 on the iTunes country singles chart and No. 9 on the iTunes all-genre singles chart when it was released in 2017, and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Country Digital Sales Chart. The chart-topping track was penned with Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell.

“It was a special day writing this one” recalls McCreery. “We all sat down, and at first, I was just talking about my granddaddy. I always believed in it and thought it was a story that everyone could relate to—I feel like everyone has these things that they go back to and wish they had more time. We worked on this song for three or four different days, and a lot changed, and it took a while, but I wanted it to be perfect.”

Here's a quick interview with James Denton & Teri Hatcher who are starring in A Kiss Before Christmas tomorrow night. James is also an executive producer on the film. You can tell they have a great friendship and affection for each other from all the years working on Desperate Housewives together.

I just watched The Santa Squad (from last year). Hadn't seen it before. I liked it. The characters seemed quite real and at ease with each other.

/
Watching Nantucket Noel again. The lead actor looks like McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy and I'm here for it.

Add me to the list of those who liked Next Stop, Christmas.
It had more layers than the usual time travel movies. It kept me engaged to the end.

Another trend in these movies, some older folks are featured and lives have real problems that either are overcome or must be dealt with to the end.

Yes, I liked that added element was in this movie too.

Lifetime: Dancing Through the Snow
starring AnnaLynne McCord & Colin Lawrence.
Description: Michael is a firefighter and devoted single father to 8- year-old Lily, an aspiring ballerina. After a video goes viral of Michael and Lily doing an adorable ballet routine, Michael becomes the most eligible bachelor,

I watched Dancing Through the Snow. I liked it. The male lead is a tall, broad shoulder, beefcake firefighter. So, a plus, right there. :thumbsup2 He had the emotional lightness to play a single dad who would do a cute, sweet dance routine with his little daughter that ends up going viral, yet not take the sudden fame seriously.

Ugh! Hard pass on the ION Channel's Christmas Down Under. I lasted about 5 minutes. :badpc:

The ION Channel only made 4 Christmas movies this year. WHY they picked this one and WHY they decided to show this one first is beyond me. :confused3

It's acted and directed by a Australian, who I guess, doesn't get to watch Hallmark or Lifetime movies down under. So, he has a weird concept of American Christmas movies being some highly overacted, over-exaggerated, stylized movies, instead of subtle, real-life acting with decent scripts.

There was also a continuous soundtrack, much like the awful soundtrack I mentioned in another bad movie, recently. I guess the a soundtrack company had a sale so people could put bad soundtracks into Christmas movies. :headache:

Possibly, the only thing worse than one bad movie on ION, is that the screenwriter, of this movie is having a second movie premiering on ION in two weeks. :faint: Did he have a two-fer sale on bad scripts? ION can't do better than this, when they only put out FOUR Christmas movies? :confused3

Remember set your DVR for tomorrow night now. You don't want to be fighting for the remote control tomorrow.

Thanksgiving night, the Hallmark Channel will have a double feature:

The Nine Lives of Christmas at 6pm ET / 5CT
This is an oldie that is a favorite of many people. ♥
It stars Kimberley Sustad, Brandon Routh and Gregory Harrison. After a cat adopts a firefighter (Brandon,) he meets Kimberley, who also has a cat. After she gets kicked out of her apartment for having her cat, she winds up staying at Brandon's house while looking for a place to live. :cat:

⬇ AND right after ⬇

The
New_smiley2.gif
sequel: :cat::cat:
Nine Kittens of Christmas at 8pm ET / 7CT
(The IMDb.com says it may also be re-titled as: Nine Lives of Holidays. Record it no matter which title you see.)

Today, Netflix premieres: A Boy Called Christmas
starring Henry Lawfull, Toby Jones, Sally Hawkins, Kristen Wiig, Michiel Huisman, Zoe Colletti, Stephen Merchant (voice), Joel Fry, Rune Temte with Jim Broadbent and Maggie Smith.

An ordinary young boy called Nikolas sets out on an extraordinary adventure into the snowy north in search of his father who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm. Taking with him a headstrong reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse, Nikolas soon meets his destiny in this magical, comic and endearing story that proves nothing is impossible. BINGO CARDS!

Someone in another group posted a PDF file for Hallmark Christmas Movie BINGO CARDS to print out. There are 32 different cards, so many people can play and everyone has a different card. Whomever fills out their card first in a straight line wins. (Of course, you can keep playing just to fill out the whole card during one movie. :teeth: )

Examples of the different cards: (click on it to enlarge)

Bingo winning patterns:

:surfweb: To download the Hallmark Christmas Movie Bingo cards file: click on the attachment file link at the bottom of this post. If it asks what to do with the file, SAVE the file, and remember what folder you saved it.

(The file has already been scanned by McAfee antivirus to be virus free.)

Later, to print out only specific Bingo card pages, your printer has a setting where you can print out only pages 3-5 for example. Then next time, print out only pages 6-10. You do not have to print out all 32 pages at once.

One December Night? Yes, I saw it. It's pretty good. Not a typical Hallmark movie.

Finally saw One December Night. I had been putting it off as I thought it was a heavy, tear-jerker. It's not a tear-jerker. It is a bit different than typical Hallmark movies. I liked it. :thumbsup2

Making Spirits Bright (not to be confused with last week's Baking Spirits Bright on Lifetime.)
Starring Taylor Cole and Carlo Marks.
Description: The son and daughter of rival holiday decorating families help mend their fathers’ decades-old feud, finding romance along the way as they compete in the town’s holiday decorating contest.

I liked Making Spirits Bright. It's a similar story to Check Inn to Christmas, from a couple years ago, which I liked better. (Definitely recommending the second movie, if you haven't watched it yet.) I like when they involve the two families into the stories. Adds more dimensions.

The movie with the similar name: Baking Spirits Bright on Lifetime, didn't do as well. This movie might have been good, but, in my opinion, the lead actress was mis-cast. She was too old for the role. Add to that a deep voice and a strong attitude, and she seemed too hard, narrow-minded and inflexible. Every time the male lead had an idea, (he was there to help her family,) she shot it down. :headache: There was no chemistry between them because of her attitude. This movie needed someone soft and open, like Rachel Boston in the role.

Speaking of Rachel Boston, there is an older Lifetime movie I watched again, with her in, called Christmas in Tennessee. I recommend that movie instead. :thumbsup2
