Questions about connecting flight--JetBlue at JFK

Is this flight leaving tomorrow? I have never paid that much for SYR-MCO or MCO-SYR, and I've booked flights the day of. Is this a holiday? Although, come to think of it, when they have a sale, flights sell out fast and then the only tickets that are left are expensive. I've just never seen them that expensive . . . so I'd better stay alert!
No, the ridiculously expensive flight is more than 2 months away, and it's not a holiday.

We live near Boston so we frequently fly out of BOS or Providence. We used to connect all the time, but the delays in the post-Covid years have made it so that direct flights are the only way to go. Because BOS is a pretty big airport, we can get almost everywhere directly. In the before times we always flew JetBlue and connected through JFK pretty frequently and never had much of a problem. I remember T5 being a pretty decent terminal. But JetBlue is not as good as it used to be. We are big fans of the newer Breeze Airlines. The only downside is that they don't fly out of BOS, just PVD--which is about an hour drive or so, but an easy in and out.

Update today, July 31st, my bonus day at POFQ. Why? Because the MCO to JFK flight was rescheduled (@kylenne--I should have listened to you!!!) to get into JFK after the JFK to SYR flight had already departed.

Fortunately for me, I hadn't gone to the airport yet when I found this out. JetBlue rescheduled me for a nonstop flight today (no extra charge, no change fee, etc.) and I was able to get a room at POFQ (where I'd stayed all week) at the AP rate.

That is the very last time I'm ever booking a connecting flight from SYR to MCO. If I have to leave my resort at 5 a.m., so be it. That's better than having to scramble to figure out what to do. As it turned out, the person on chat at JetBlue was able to solve my problem and booked me on today's flight and I was lucky that AP-discount rooms were still available at POFQ (or anywhere, for that matter). I get the impression that it's not very crowded at the resorts in general right now.

For my bonus evening, I went to DHS, saw the Villains show again (if you haven't seen this--go! it's amazing) and Fantasmic. A really good evening.

Many thanks to everyone on this thread!
I’m glad everything worked out for you in the end despite the circumstances, and you were able to get another AP rate night.

Today was a very difficult travel day for all the airlines due to the storms here in the city. My boss actually sent my team home early from the office because the worst was supposed to hit during the evening commute and I’m really glad, we had some pretty bad flooding in areas and transit was having a Time of it. But it’s another example of how summer can be very unpredictable here in terms of weather. Hundreds of flights were canceled here alone.

We are big fans of the newer Breeze Airlines. The only downside is that they don't fly out of BOS, just PVD--which is about an hour drive or so, but an easy in and out.
Breeze was founded by the original JetBlue guy (he must really love the color blue because he also founded Azul in Brazil too), I’ve heard very good things about them. They seem to favor flying in and out of smaller regional airports for the most part.

I had heard about it being the same guy who founded JetBlue but wasn’t sure if it was true. Makes sense, they are just more chill on all levels. Maybe avoiding the really big airports is the key!

Going back to my main point, I’m good with driving up to two hours to catch a direct flight somewhere over connecting from BOS. One time, we actually drove to JFK to catch a direct flight. That’s like a 3 or 4 hour drive—never again.
