1saleaday.com has a Philips BluRay player for $99.99 today, which is half-price. I've been hesitant to spend the money on one because my DVDs are doing just fine, but for that price, I might break down and make the change. Thought others might be interested too! (Of course, I'll end up wanting to replace all my DVDs with BluRay, so maybe this isn't so great after all!)

Don't buy Phillips - junk.

I've seen better deals on better players. Recently I saw a nice one on Amazon for $60

I recently got the $59 Samsung on Amazon and it works great, free shipping and no sales tax either :). I keep coming across great movie deals for blueray more than regular, esp the disney ones.

With Bluray players, stick to the top brands (Samsung, LG, etc. are the best for quality and function) and get one that has Netflix streaming, etc. You can find them easily in the $100 range at all sorts of places.

woot has a samsung blu ray with netflix streaming for $79. It's refurb but I don't have any problems with that.

Quite honestly, you can get a Sony BDP-S360 for a few dollars more at most retailers -- and they are of higher quality than anything Philips puts-out.

BUDGET TIP: Certain electronics, such as Blu-ray players are in the process of going clearance, so that shelf space can be used for newer models. Great bargains to be had...

I didn't even pay $75 after the MIR and the store gift card they gave me for buying a Sony Blu-ray. Not sure $99 for a Philips is such a great deal...:confused3

We got a nice Vizio for just over that at Costco. Didn't even know Vizio made bluray players, but there it was, and it's been lovely!

As for replacing movies...since DVDs play in bluray players, and they are "upconverted"...it's like watching different movies when watching our DVDs. So clear and crisp you can see so much more...really incredible. No need to replace with bluray, since the DVDs play so well!
