Hi,

Well I just signed up for a half marathon that takes place June 22nd. I haven't done one in ten years, but I decided that this will help me get in shape - plus I got a treadmill for Christmas and I'm loving it! :goodvibes Does anyone know of good training routines. Oprah had a 20 week one on her website, but I'm not sure if that's the best. Any input would be great. I'm at least 25 lbs. over my last 1/2 marathon stats (before I had three kids) and I'm hoping this will slap those pounds down!

Did you try the Hal Higdon training schedules? I am following the 15K one for the Minnie and so far so good (actually I had extra weeks before the race and wanted to get started so I am doing a few weeks of the 10K and then moving to the 15K schedule in the next few weeks) I like that there is a fair amount of cross training in the schedule which is keeping me more inspired.

If the Minnie goes well then I will consider the Hartford half marathon in October so I am off to check out Oprah's site to make a comparison!

For the WDW 1/2 this year, I used a Marathoning for Mortals training plan by John Bingham. Great book & realistic schedule. Have fun @ your half!

Actually, it the Fairfield half on the other side of the state that I'll be doing! Thanks everyone!
