Half day at animal kingdom worth it?

We have a 10 hour layaway at Orlando airport, flight being at 7:20 PM (and us getting to airport at 10 AM)…is Animal Kingdom worth it as a half day trip?

Logistic wise, I figure we would have until 4 till we’d have to leave to catch out flight out (unless there’s bad traffic during that time?)

I think so. If you don’t expect to do and see everything. You can probably knock out many of the rides and a show in that time if you rope drop. Maybe just prioritize animals or rides, you won’t be able to do/see both.

It really depends! Would you need to purchase a ticket? What do you like to do there? For us, we like to spend 2 days there, so 1/2 day would be pushing it. But you could hit the main attractions in a 1/2 day before heading out!

You won’t be able to do everything but you can have a great 1/2 day! Especially if you’re willing to do G+ to minimize lines.

Get to AK noon.
Leave at 4:00.

on the surface, it looks like little gain for the money. You will have to see the worth for you.

It’s aggressive and expensive for basically 4 hours in the park but is a personal decision if it’s ‘worth it’ to you. You would be at the park during the busiest hours but if you purchase G+ you could stack a couple of attractions before arrival.

What attractions are you hoping to experience? Would you purchase ILL$ for FoP?

If you throw caution to the wind and pay for all your budget for 4 hours would approximately be:

- AK $129
- Genie+ $16
- ILL$ $14

If all goes well you could possibly experience 5-7 attractions in the 4 hours you are there for a cost of approx $160/person plus transportation.

Another big factor not added is weather. If you are travelling in summer months FL has some pretty common storms in the afternoon which would alter plans.

AK is our least favorite park and as much as we try to stay all day, we end up leaving by 1:00pm or earlier. So for us, we can easily do AK in 4 hours. If my DD19 had her way, we’d do it no hours - LOL!

In all seriousness - make a list of your “must dos” and make them a priority

There’s too much that could go wrong to do it personally. What if your flight gets delayed and you miss out on the day? Then you’d be out that money.

Yes is the short answer. Lots of people consider AK a half-day park. Personally, I'd UBER to Disney Springs and get a "taste of Disney" without the expense and rushed day. YMMV
