Hakuna Matata: Official thread Part deux

Good morning team.

I had what has become my usual morning workout. 4 miles on the tready and then stretching and cals. This will change when I get some warm weather so I can train outside. I'm so tired of cold weather, I live in southern Ky and it was 23 degrees this morning! When the warm weather does hit I hope to have a good base so I can start some full throttle training without any problems.

My walking today was a warm-up then steady pace of 13:20 per mile then cool down. No surges today.

Lynn, you and Scott are ready for a break with all the home remodeling.

Walk/run strong team.

I did a bit of practice what I preach this afternoon and Push mowed our .6 acre yard. The clumps of new spring grass were getting pretty high. So I have another hour and a half to add to the days total.

Have a wonderfull evening everyone.

Well kids we are off to ATL tomorrow, got the pups out for a walk this evening.

Will post from the road as we progress.

Hi!

Water aerobics today, so a nice, low-stress workout!

Dave, I wish I'd known just how close you were! I knew you were in KY, but not really where. But, we'll be going back again to visit. DS and his family will no doubt be there for a while and we have another close friend in Crossville, TN so we have lots of reasons to go back. Plus, we are thinking TN might be a good place to retire, so we'll need to check that out a little more before we do anything too drastic! It sure is beautiful there....I love the green hills! We have hills here, of course, but they look very different. I love the mountains, too, but Colorado is a little pricy as far as cost of living....It's entertaining to think about, anyway! :rolleyes1

Kathy the cost of living in the smaller towns in Ky and Tenn is very low. The advantage of Tenn over Ky is that Tenn has no state taxes, but the down side is that ky has a 6% sales tax and Tenn has an 8% tax.

Please let us know when you coming again so we can arrange lunch if you wanna.

I am sooooooooooooooo far behind. How does that happen, anyway??? :confused3

I have been working on the spreadsheet getting it all filled in and working correctly! I will post the hours and miles on page 1, just as soon as I hear from everybody!

Welcome home, Kathy!

Dave, how cool that you have a bit of lawn to mow! Just yesterday, you could see actual green on the trees! The apricot trees have been in bloom for a little while. It's nice to see spring on it's way. I fear there is at least one last snow storm to come, though. My lilacs haven't bloomed and they usually do, just in time to get frozen by the last blast of winter.

Scott! Sanding is hard dusty work. I hope you plan to count those hours!! You and Lynn have a great time in Hotlanta!

Cobbler, great job on the weight training. I enjoy doing it, but lately I have the hardest time making me do it. And it is so important.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a walk. Unfortunately, I felt like I was walking through Jello. I finished my miles and came home to make an appointment with my doctor. I noticed my foot was once again pointed outwards, so now is the time to get it fixed before I mess up my training and have trouble with the half in April. I will discuss bike riding with my doctor and see what he thinks about my trying to work up to it.

Everyone have a great day!

Here's to your health! -- Connie

Good morning team!

Connie, I may post our hours so far this week this afternoon, after my walk. I do not see us doing much the rest of the week. If there is more, I can add them to next week. Scott may be posting while we are on vacation, but I never seem to get near the laptop.

Have a great day!

Scott and Lynn have a great time in Atlanta.

Got in a good walk last night, it is really feeling great to get back at it. I will be doing my first marathon at the end of Sept....I think that is the one we picked anyways so gotta get the cardio up again before training officially starts.

Tell me if this is legal??? My DS is training for his first marathon....he is 18...probably can start training the week before....:lmao: anyways he is starting to get out with Mike and I. Can I donate his hours and miles to Erica??? Is that legal?? If not it is OK, just came to me as I was typing this post.

Hope you are all having a awesome day.

No Kim we can't donate his miles but if he would like to get on a team I can arrange that.

I had an awesome walk this morning, I was able to go outside. It was 53 degrees and not raining! So I warmed up for a half mile on the tready and then did 4 good miles on my hills route. I didn't time it but it felt somewhere between 13 and 14 min per mile. I felt very strong.

I finished off with stretching and some pool fun, then a good soak in the hot tub. Very good day.

Connie when I lay flat on my back my feet point to the sides, always have. I never thought of it as a problem but maybe it is.

Have a super day y'all.

I forgot that we can include lawn mowing with our weekly totals. Cool!:thumbsup2 Considering that most folks seem to still be experiencing winter I will refrain from mentioning what the weather is here -- except to say that my windows are open and that blue sky sure is pretty...;)

Wishing you all a warm(er) spring soon!

Oh, and I had a really good run yesterday whch is rare. Tuesdays usually stink. I'm even more encouraged for Thursday's run/bike ride.

Have a great Wednesday!

Kristen

I am always forgetting to add hours for physical work, I have to remember to start doing that.

No Dave that's OK, like I said no biggie just thought he could put his miles to use but keep track of mine and Mike is enough.....the boy would never remember to do it.

I think I need a vacation again......winter is never going to leave us here in Ontario!!!!!

Just wanted to wish Scott and Lynn good luck in Atlanta.

Hello to everyone else. I've been too busy to catch up. At least I've been running a little. Yea!!

Hi Cindy, hang in there pretty princess.

I'm taking a rest day except for stretching, that is a must. Erica got off work early and wanted her bed warmer on duty, so I guess that's a good reason to take a rest day. "No Honey I can't hold you till you fall asleep, I'm to busy walking to bother with you" you know that will happen.

Our local collage team the Western Kentucky University, Hilltoppers, are playing UCLA today in the basketball tournament. I don't watch sports very much since Erica and I both work Sundays. But this is kind of exciting since this is further than they have ever been. Should they win the final 4 it will be quite the party atmosphere here.:cheer2:

Scott and Lynn, safe trip y'all. Miss you guys, can't wait till the ToT so we can hang out together again.:yay:

Kim, spring where you live is like a week right?

Margie, how was your walk yesterday? Did you get to go outside and play?

Donna, hi princess:flower3:

Connie, how is the hip? You said your foot felt like it was turning out again, hope you are ok.:cloud9:

Kathy, are you guys home safe and sound yet?

Bunny and Wilber, hi princesses, are you guys starting to see spring yet?

DianeL, are you doing ok, haven't heard from your sweet self for a while.

Stephine, hi princess.

Everyone have a super day and walk/run with strength and a joy for living.

Sorry to have been MIA so long...I have been keeping track of my workouts for Connie though. I have been in a flare of lupus and then I contracted a lower respiratory infection. Now, that I have had to be on antibiotics and steroids since last Friday, I am starting to feel better! The scary thing is that I am also signed up to do the ING Geogia Half Marathon this Sunday!! :scared1: I am planning on doing it anyway, even if I end up as a slow walker  I am hoping to be healthier for the Minnie so I am definitely not going to push it too hard but I do hope I can complete it at least!

Thanks guys, we will give the race the old Hakuna Matata effort.

In Denver waiting for a plane.

Will be posting pics of teh WDW/DL medal if they have one in ATL at teh expo.

Be careful and don't push it and get worse.

If ya see us at teh expo I will have on a red DVC ball cap.
Planning on being at teh expo early on Friday, hey that is tomorrow. Weather looks iffy, but what teh heck.

I can't get there on Friday. We will be in ATL but have to go to a memorial service for my sis's MIL :sad1: she passed away entirely too young!

I am hoping to get to the Expo Saturday afternoon :upsidedow

Erica went to sleep quickly so I was still able to sneak out for a wonderfull 4 miler in the wind. Some of the walk, going into the wind was tough but I was loving it. I've been cooped up to long inside.

Sure wish we could have done Atlanta with y'all. Maybe next year.

Walk/run strong everyone.

I didn't run yesterday like I was supposed to because my legs were still quite sore from the torture I put them through on Monday.

I did do 30 minutes of upper body weight lifting though. I plan on running tomorrow as they feel much better today.
