Good afternoon Team!

I am sitting here at the computer listening to the wind howl outside, I should go and see what the numbers are! I am glad we got out early for our walk, the dogs and I did 3 miles, I think Scott ran that same also.

Connie - you take care with all those fires!

Happy Easter to everyone, have a great weekend!

Hey Team Hakuna Matata! Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a Happy Easter from your local Triple D resident! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

I did 12 miles this afternoon in 1 hr 45 minutes, a little slow for me. I blame the chocolate bunny and Easter brunch!

Best,
Jennifer

:stitch: 'OHANA MONDAY MIXER :stitch:

The mixer starts HERE on the thread.

A spring chick told me that many of us gave up goodies for Lent. Now that Lent has ended, Monday is a good time for this mixer question:

What is one healthy food you always have in your kitchen? What is one less-than-healthy food you always have in your kitchen?

Feel free to post pictures, talk about how the foods help you in your training (either as nutrition or reward), and confess to guilty pleasures and happy indulgences!

Happy Easter everyone! I stayed away from the chocolates today but I did have a few gummy candies. I did my 8 miles today but it wasn't very pretty. I had stomach cramps and I think it might have been because I ate a pear instead of an apple (They were left off my shopping list). Didn't realize they were so different but I guess that's why they say don't do anything new on race day. Anyway, I thought about turning back after 3 miles but I was determined to finish so I did the entire 8 miles but it took me 1:40 :(

Jack - Cute pic of Tigger!!

Have a great night everyone!

Good morning team.

Vicky, you are a tough princess. It's hard to keep going with stomach issues. Good example about not changing diet on race day.

For the topic of the day. I keep bananas in the house and have at least one a day often 2. The unhealthy I keep is frozen dinners, I try to keep the healthier ones but sometimes I crave a little junk and a hot pocket is just the ticket.

I had a very strong 8 mile training walk yesterday in the sunshine. Hills and a brisk breeze but the sun made it wonderful.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Good Morning Team!

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We went to Niagara Falls for the long weekend. Fun time. Haven't been in many years & forgot how spectacular the Falls really are. My inlaws live in the area but when we go down to visit it is just for the day & we never go right into the city.

I actually blew off running yesterday. We are doing a complete kitchen reno. starting tomorrow & had major work to do yesterday to get ready. More work tonight. The gym is closed yearly tonight so no pilates class. So I'm not missing out.

Vicky I wouldn't have thought a pear would give stomach troubles.

Have a great day......Sue

Happy Monday everyone! It seems to be a quiet day here as a few people have taken the day off for an even longer weekend :) Wish I had thought of that! Not much scheduled for me - just working out with my trainer tonight. My hips are a little tight from yesterday. It always seems to happen once I increase my mileage past 6 miles. I think a massage sometime in the future is in order!

Dave - Sounds like your 8 miler was better than mine. Thanks for the tough compliment! I didn't want to quit. I really wanted to get in the miles and had a feeling that if I did quit, my stomach problems would have disappeared as soon as I stopped.

Sue - You didn't run yesterday?! Shame on you! Just kidding!! I haven't been to Niagara Falls in years! It sounds like fun! There are a lot of B&Bs in the area I think? Are you doing a complete reno? Can I suggest a plastic drop cloth for anything or any area you want to keep dust free? When we did our renos recently, I asked the guys we hired to do all the wood and tile cutting outside... which they did ... directly in front of the door :headache:

Debra - I'll come and post in 'Ohana but just quickly some of the healthy things we always have at home. Spring mix salad, chickpeas, steel cut oatmeal, apples, oranges, strawberries, baby carrots, frozen mixed veggies, green tea, low fat yogurt... Making sure we eat them is entirely different :)

Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the good thoughts about my back. It is feeling some better, but I did a 10 mile wog on Saturday, and now my knees are giving me trouble again. The last 2 miles my quads really tightened up and I felt like my legs were made out of lead! It was a REALLY slow time...3 hours 13 minutes. I am short and my stride just isn't very long, so even when I pick up my walking pace, I'm not covering much ground!

Went out for a short 50 minute wog today. Didn't record the mileage though. My back felt fine, but one knee actually hurt more when I walked than when I jogged.

Best part about the weekend? Watching my granddaughter hunt Easter eggs for the first time!

Off to the Ohana thread to post about my food choices!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around lately. We have had even more problems as a result of the fire, and that's a boundry dispute. Oh well... I hope everyone is doing well, I will catch up later.

See ya! -- Connie

These can be messy, when we sold our house three years back we discovered that our neighbors house was actually on our property, encroachment easement was drafted and all worked out. Fault of the developer many many years before we were even there.

Connie, sorry to hear your having more problems.

I just had a 2 hour dance class/rehearsal tonight as cross-training so not much from me.

Best,
Jennifer

Sorry Connie: I have had neighbor issues also to the tune of Thousands of dollars last year and a lot of sleepless nights. I feel your pain. Thankfully, I had a lot more neighbors that came to our defense with the city so it was a great way to find your friends.

Last night I was ticked off at myself. i really wanted to go out but was exhausted from a sleepless night on Sunday so I told Mark we would start our 4:45 am walk today. Sure enough we did it. I layed out all my clothes last night so all I had to do was dress and leave. We did 5 miles, saw the sun come up and enjoyed the morning together. Mark was late going into work - well late for him 6:40 but it's good for his heart and his customers and partner can wait a bit for him to get there. Technically he doesn't open his shop till 7:30.

I feel much better this morning and am ready to start the day. I'm posting from work because email and web at home is currently down, gotta love comcast! So before I go on too long, I'll sign off.

Dave - I did get your text message on my phone Sunday morning when I turned the darn thing on.

Jennifer, is the Boston Marathon next Monday? Will you be cheering?

Have a good one.

Good morning, Hakuna Matata, my friends!!!

Thanks so much for the well wishes! Once again, things work out for the bette. Dispute is all settled! Everyone is more or less happy. No gun fights, court battles, or seriously harsh feelings! Yeah!!!!

I have been getting some exercise in. The OKC race is coming up fast. I am feeling very happy that a 10.7 mile stretch is all that I HAVE to do.

How do you guys feel about the mixers? You still want to do them? I thought we might do a Fruit and Vegetable mixer! LOL Asking others about their favorite recipes.

Good job, Denise!! Starting is often the hardest part, isn't it?? Wasn't it Mary Poppins who said that a job well started is already half done?

MaryJ - Glad to hear your back is better!

Jack - Loved the picture of the Easter Tigger!

Well I couldn't get the pic to show up but you can go to the link and see it. Awesome.

I was planning on an outside training walk but it started raining so it was me and the tready again.

Denise I wish we lived closer so we could all meet for dinner and a drink once in a while and share stories with you and Mark. I heard that new song by Rich of Big and Rich, called, "They are shutting Detroit Down". Very powerful.

Connie I can't wait to see you and Margie again, Jan can't come soon enough. We need to plan a day for us all to hang out and hug and catch up.

We have a big group from Wish and DR doing Goofy this time so there will be lots of time to talk during the races also. Nine to 10 hours of chat time, life is good.

Regis and Kelly have the Chev Volt and other elec cars on their show. I like that Volt.

Have an awesome day team.

Happy Panda:hippie:
