Hakuna Matata - Movin' on to March

Wow when you don’t post for a week, you really have a lot of catch up reading to do.

I hope everyone and their families are doing well...especially those dealing with recent injuries and illnesses.

Things are going well here, I reached my New Year’s weight loss goal of getting down to 188 lbs…was 206 on Dec 31. I celebrated with that night with beer, wings and steak; and have not been as careful in the following days, which promptly put me back into the low 190’s. Oh well, back at it I guess; although I technically reached my goal and am no longer bound by my New Year’s commitment , I would like to lose another 10 or so to get down to 178. Two reasons for this: I have read a loss of 5 lbs shaves 2 minutes off a half marathon time, with all else being equal; and secondly, for the first time since I was a kid, it will put my BMI as “normal weight”. Even though BMI is a flawed measurement because it does not account for muscle (many extremely fit pro athletes are overweight per BMI), it would be cool to get to that milestone nevertheless.

The weather is warming up…great temperatures for running. The only bad thing is with the melting snow, there are lots of puddles around and the trail I run on is kinda muddy…so it usually doesn’t take long for my feet to get wet, which makes the run a little less enjoyable. I did my long run today…13.1 miles in just a little over 2 hours. Aside from an annoying blister on a toe, my legs are feeling great afterwards. I am hoping this bodes well for upcoming marathon and eventual Goofy training.

Goofy question of the day: I hear registration opens April 10. Some FB groups seem to be hyping it up a lot...saying it could fill up very fast being the 20th anniversary and the fact that another popular race somewhere else sold out in 2 hours. So for those doing marathon weekend 2013: when are ya'll going to officially commit? Although I am 95% sure I am going to do it...still a little nervous making the non-refundable and apparently non-transferable registration payment this early just in case something comes up.

Hi Team!

I am sorry to disappear for about 2 months. I really have no good reason for it, but I figured today was a good day to try to get back into the swing of it. I am caught up on posts from the beginning of this month, but did not go all the way back to January where I left off.

Kim- Yay to registering for Chicago RnR!!

Elizabeth- Congrats on finishing the Princess half! I am glad to hear your injuries will heal and you will be able to continue to run. That is very good news!

Mike- Congrats on finishing the Marathon in Little Rock!! Glad you had a great time! I’m sorry to hear the dog you wanted was adopted. I’m sure the right dog for Liz will come along.

Rick- I’m sorry to hear your friend was laid off. I can see how that would definitely be stressful. Sounds like your training is going well! I’m glad to hear they have Christi’s pain management under control. I’m sorry to hear about Christi’s attacks of pancreatitis. Sending PD her way! Hope your 12 mile run today went well.

Lynn- Welcome back from South Africa! I saw a few of the pictures and posts on Scott’s FB and it sounds like you both had a wonderful time as always!! I’m sure the pups are happy to have you home. When do you leave for the Fantasy Maiden Voyage? That’s great you’re getting a refund this year. I hope you’re able to get out for some bike riding!

Eva- I totally understand your desire to delete FB eventually. I have considered it as well. So Pinterest- do you just pin things you like and everyone sees it? Is there more to it? Wow the Prius sounds interesting. Are you getting more used to now after about a week? Shorts on a run is definitely good weather!

Tandy- Glad to hear school is going great! LOL, I read your post about your 3.5 mile run with Harrison and how he is such a downer and I could not help but last. I did not think you were a bad mom at all. It’s good to hear you are having a great week with the eating and exercising. Enjoy your spring break! What attracts Frank to Florida? Glad Harrison is feeling better.

RadioFanatic- A very belated welcome to the team!!!

Vicky- Yay to being able to run faster on the TM!! That is great!

Sue- Good to hear bike training is going well and the hr monitor is helping.

Robbie- A very belated welcome to the team! Congrats on reaching your weight loss goal! Good luck getting the weight back off after your big dinner celebration. I think most of us have over celebrated once or twice as well. Good to hear your 13 mile run today went well. I’m not planning on WDW marathon weekend next year so I can’t answer your question.

AFM, DH and I did a 4 mile run on the TM today. We have started moving our workouts to morning workouts. I am hoping getting up at 4:00am will eventually get easier. Last week I also finally started getting back into lifting weights. The next race I am planning on is the Portland RnR in May, but I’m not signing up for it until DH’s leave time has been approved as it is non-refundable. Hopefully he gets that soon! Glad to hear everyone’s training is going well. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Well, the good news is that Christi came home today! She may have to go back in a week or two for more tests but at least she is home and comfortable. Thanks for all the PD and well wishes! :goodvibes

Piglet24: I am so glad you are back! :goodvibes I did not get a chance to run today because the last minute discharge decision changed my already-busy schedule. But that was a good reason not to run, right? The temp was 59F and sunny this afternoon so it would have been a wonderful run day. Oh well, I am going to try to get the run in tomorrow after church. It is supposed to be an equally beautiful day so I hope I get the chance to enjoy it.

Rubato: I am indeed proud of how far I have come. It is amazing to me sometimes. But, I am frustrated that my weight loss has slowed down since the end of 2011 and I have so much more to go. I have been maintaining rather than losing. I did lose weight in Feb, but I will just keep moving forward.

AFM: I did get a chance to take my DS to Dick Pond for some running apparel. He now has a nice 1/2 zip fleece, running socks, and some Mizumo running gloves. With their winter gear sale going, I got it all for about $50! So now he is ready for our 5K race on the 24th. I am pretty excited!

Good Morning Team!

Tandy - Hope Harrisons heel is better for a run! I can sympathize, living with PF for a good 2 years (1 year in each foot). I still stretch out my heel daily to prevent a recurrence.

Rick - More PD for Christi! Glad to hear she made it home!

Robbie - Good job in meeting your New Years goal. Goofy has filled up within a day or so of opening before, I would make the decision ASAP.

Regina - Fantasy is in 3 weeks.

AFM - Got out a bit late for bike ride yesterday, the wind had picked up to about 15-20mph, not high in the grand scheme of things, but hard to ride in - so we only made it about 8 miles. Then a dog walk - 1.25 miles. Supposed to be windier today - maybe we can get out early when it is still cooler, but not windy.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Hi guys.

No training the last 2 days, that's a first for me since returning from DisneyWorld. But I had so much to do the last two days that it was better to just get everything caught up. It did give my legs a good rest and maybe will allow me to go ahead and shake off this cold that has lingered for 2 weeks.

Tomorrow I'm meeting a training partner for a hard 4 miler so I'll see if the rest helped and I get a good time for it.

I hope everyone has a restful evening, tomorrow starts a new week and a new opportunity to "Keep moving forward".

Dave:hippie:

Hey all! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Looking forward to a warm week here in upstate NY and looking forward to my first race since disney 1/2 on saturday - only 4 miles but happy to be a part of something!

Rick- do not be unhappy about your weight loss - you are maintaining and not gaining that's important. I know how you feel - i've lost 70 from may of last year to january and have not lost a pound since - I still have ten more to go. i keep reminding myself that I haven't gained and things are probably changing from fat to muscle which I'm sure is happening to you too. you're doing great! and glad your wife is home!

Piglet - welcome back and thanks for the welcome!

robbie- congrats on weight loss and you can do it with the other ten!

Oh geez. I came in and wrote a novel on Saturday morning when I had loads of time and now I am seeing that it didn't take. Hmmrph. I prob hit the review post and then just closed my screen by accident thinking I posted. I've done that before. Oh well....

RadioFanatic - Send me a PM with your email and I'll shoot a pinterest invite to you. GL on your 4 miler...toeing the line is always exciting even if it is a shorter mileage race!

Lynn - It has been very windy in our area lately and if I'm out there in it struggling I often think of you guys and what you must go though all year long!

Rick - Wow you got all of the Ryan's stuff for only $50?!? I need to go check out that sale! I have a coupon too :cool1: Glad to hear that Christi is home. I bet she is much more comfy there!

Regina - The Portland RnR sounds wonderful!! I love Oregon and I have never even been there! I see so many pics and movies where it just looks breathtakingly gorgeous. And Goonies...can't forget the Goonies. pirate:

Holy macaroni...I am running late to get ready for work....

Catch you all on the flip side! :upsidedow

Thanks VR - I'll send you a PM!

I have a question - I was reading Rick's blog (great job btw) and I saw on his disney 1/2 marathon entry that, after the race, he was able to get his medal engraved - is this something offered to everyone? is it included in teh race price - I didn't know anything about this and didn't read it anywhere - I must admit I'm pretty upset I didn't know about this and didn't have it done. I don't want to miss it the next time and would love to know if I can get this year's medal fixed - thanks!

Good Morning Team!

It is so nice to have good weather, I know it is too early in the season, which means winter will hit us again before Spring is really here! higher winds are predicted here for today and tomorrow, so we might not make it out for a bike ride. We got in 13 miles yesterday on the cross bikes - which means we rode some dirt roads.

Pixie Dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Happy Monday team.

Lynn: Don't say that. We are just going to have an early, perfect spring. ;)

Eva: Hope everything's going well.

Kimberely: The last 10 are so hard. I'm glad you have such a good attitude about it. Great job on the first 70, BTW! Fantastic!

Dave: How'd the 4 go today? Did you beat your old time?

Rick: I'm so happy that Christi got to come home. How's she doing? It's always fun to take Harrison to the running store. Of course, he's so expensive that I sometimes question why I started him on this running thing. You have done an amazing job on the weight loss. It's perfectly normal to stall out for awhile. It'll start coming off again, I promise.

Regina: 3 things make Frank want to move to Florida. Warm weather, water and my love of Disney. :lovestruc I bet the Portland half will be beautiful. I am someday going to make it to Oregon and Washington. It's Frank's dream trip. He also talks about moving to Seattle (again water), but I couldn't deal with the clouds. 4 am is tough, and it'll always be a little tough. But, it gets easier.

Robbie: I'm sure you can get those 10 off. Being a normal BMI is a good goal, since you seem aware of the pitfalls of gauging things only off of that. I use it for my son, but only as a guide. I haven't seen Goofy sell out super quick in the last 2 years that I've been noticing it. I signed up in October 2 years ago with no problem. The 20th anniversary should, I would think, only affect the full. Of course, with all that being said, I'd be prepared to have my decision made around April or May, just in case. If Goofy gets to be about 90% full, I'd sign up.

AFM: Got a 3.5 mile walk in this morning. Harrison and I have a 4 mile run planned this afternoon. It's supposed to be 75 degrees!!!!!! Actually a little warm for running, but I'll take it any day over that cold stuff! Zumba tonight, I hope.

I feel for Harrison today. He had baseball camp for 2 hours this morning. Then, at 1, a private pitching lesson, then our 4 mile run and regular baseball practice tonight. We weren't really thinking when we planned all of this. Oh, and he was at a sleepover last night and is exhausted already!

Time to go pick him up. Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning team.

Tandy I was 3 sec off my best time. It was 4 miles in 43:06. Today was speed intervals so 6 X 400m at a pace between 9:52 and 10:04 per mile. Now I'm relaxing and getting ready to start stretching.

I'm wondering how quick the WDW marathon is going to fill up this time since it's the 20th with a special medal.

Dave:hippie:

Hi Everybody!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes! :thumbsup2 We didn't do much as I had to work both nights! I'm off Tuesday night this week and I think we will go see John Carter at the movies.

Dave~ Yes, I'm now 43! I'm so glad that I am not the person that I was when I was 25. I'm in way better shape physically, mentally and emotionally!

Kimberly~ The medal engraving is available at most of the Disney races and is done by a vendor. I think its Fond Memory graphics, one of the two that sell the framed medal shadow boxes. It costs twenty dollars (cash) and they are linked into the timing system and get your race results immediately, (no they don't give them out for free). There is usually a bit of a wait. You can also have it done at a local engraving shop if you have one, maybe a jewerly store. We have one called Things Remembered in a mall near here.

Tandy~ Yes, I feel little old when I go to Robert's school and there a bunch of young parents! The age difference is strange sometimes.

Robbie~ I will be signing up for the Goofy (Dopey with the 5k) as soon as it opens. Last year there was a Disney Visa discount that saved me a bit.

Regina~ Welcome back! I missed you! :goodvibes

AFM~ I think that I have our PC issues solved and our laptop working again. I haven't run since I have been back from the Little Rock marathon, and I'm feeling like a bit of a slug. But my body seemed to really need the recovery time. My weight is staying study and I can live with that for now. I still would like to lose another 15-20 pounds. Liz got over her flu in a couple of days and is feeling great. It always takes me longer, so I'm kind of envious.
We had a busy weekend with working and Liz got baptised at our church. I found out her bible study leader is one of my old high school teachers! Tomorrow, I have a job interview with a local running store. I'm pretty sure that I have the job already, as the manager is the head of our running club at the gym and she knows me.
I also got into the Marine Corps Marathon by signing up through Runners World and their challenge. The race sold out in 2 hours and 41 minutes! The challlenge gets me into the race, online training with Bart Yasso (who I just me in Little Rock), private bib pick up, private gear check, port o pots, a free book, and RW tech shirt, etc. It will be a great time!

Little Rock race report to follow...

- Mike :cool2:

Little Rock race report~ Day one!

This is mostly travel stuff and I'm going to break up the days into seperate posts in case they get lost in cyberspace or my laptop dies again...

On Friday the second, the day started off great with Rick picking me up and the two of us going out for a nice breakfast. He was generously able to drop me off at the airport on his way to work.
I got through bag check and security pretty easily and had a long wait for my flight so I sat around people watching. It was raining in Chicago with the news station on the gate tv talking about bad storms to the South. I happened to check the departure board and saw that my flight was cancelled! I have never had to deal with anything like it before so I immedately found a gate attendant and got in line. Then the messages starting hitting everyones phones and the line got really long with all kinds of cancellations. It was supposed to be a direct flight into Little Rock which was about 90 minutes. They wanted to put me on another plane that didn't leave until five hours later and connected through Dallas. You should have seen me on the phone with American and talking to the attendant at the same time. I ended up with an earlier flight, still connecting through Dallas.
I was desperate by this time, because I was running the 5k on Saturday and was going to miss packet pick up! I put a message out on FB and Jim Welch, a fellow WISHER from Illinois, was able to get it for me! :thumbsup2 Meanwhile the plane to Dallas got delayed and I missed my connection flight and had to get a later plane. Susie Capehart, another WISHER from Little Rock, was going to pick me up at the airport and take me to my hotel. I didn't get there until about 10:30 pm and she came to get me even though it was that late! She was AWESOME for doing that! It was her second trip to pick up WISHERS for the day! And she had found Jim and had my packet in hand! :worship: How cool is that?
When I got to my hotel, they were no longer honoring the late check out for Sunday, which really irked me. At first they said I "do have the room until noon". I pointed out that I would still be on the racecourse and really needed the late checkout. Then they offered to let me check my bags and us the shower in the fitness center. (Along with all the other runners that they screwed). I was not happy!
They are the host hotel for the race and the race is ten years old. The expo and pasta dinner are both held there. You would think that they would take care of the runners! I spoke to the race organizers about it and they apologized and actually addressed it on FB. Kudos to them! I will never stay at the Peabody hotel again!
I included all this travel stuff because I wanted to let you know how great our fellow WISHERS are! I had never met Susie before, and Jim only few times. We belong to a great running community and I love it! I could not have done the 5k without the help of them both, and having a ride waiting for me after a eleven hour travel ordeal was fantastic!

Day two to come soon...

-Mike :cool2:

Mike that's awesome that you might get a job in a running store, does that mean it will be your new career or an addition to the store job? I have had a passion for fitness all my adult life and have promoted it whenever possible. I started the first aerobics class in the USAF and had the opportunity to have my paws in a lot of military fitness programs. There was a time that I had Kenneth Cooper's human performance lab on speed dial.

I'm anal about the hotel situation and always have a plan B in mind. Usually I'll stay an extra night and see the town with the other members of team panda when we do a destination race. Even for Indy which is costly we are staying the day after the race to see the sights.

Dave:hippie:

I have a question - I was reading Rick's blog (great job btw) and I saw on his disney 1/2 marathon entry that, after the race, he was able to get his medal engraved - is this something offered to everyone? is it included in teh race price - I didn't know anything about this and didn't read it anywhere - I must admit I'm pretty upset I didn't know about this and didn't have it done. I don't want to miss it the next time and would love to know if I can get this year's medal fixed - thanks!

Thanks! As for the engraving, I don't remember the name of the company who does it (it isn't Disney) but they had a booth to the right of the gear check tents. So you got your gear bag, went out the tent and turned to your left. That was where the place was. It cost $20 and they engraved it right there. They had access to the official race results from Disney so that they had your race finish time. Mike might know the company's name.

Yesterday was crazy; I should know by now that the best of plans never quite pan out the way you expect. :rotfl:

I had wanted to do my 12 mile run at 1pm on Sunday. Well, that didn't happen until 3pm. The good news was that I did get my run in, and it was really beautiful outside: 62F, windy, sunny, and lots of people out on the path (bikers, runners, walkers, families, etc.) It was really cool.

And the Dairy Queen on the path was OPEN! (It has been closed for many months through the winter) So this means spring is definitely here. But since I still had 7 more miles to go, I chose not to partake in any DQ goodness (that, and the fact I had no money with me).

The first 8 miles were pretty good for me. But it just seemed like the last four miles were harder. My heart rate was a little higher, my left knee was starting to twinge on me, and my feet were starting to become sore. I was very pleased when I could see the end of the path! :worship:

On my way home, I chugged down some Muscle Milk, a banana, and some PowerAde, and then jumped into the shower. Shoved down some dinner and then had to go to my son's school where I spent from 7pm-2:30am helping to get the 'set' for their "Grease" production put up, get the sound equipment (sound board, wireless mics, speakers, amps, etc) working, and get the lighting board up and working.

I had no time to really stretch and foam roll. So by the time I hit the bed at 3am, everything hurt (feet, legs, hips, arms, and shoulders) from the run but also because of all the lifting and moving and standing that the 'tech setup' took. So I guess I can consider all of that my cross training for Sunday.

Today, I woke up with some soreness but much much better. The feet are fine, the legs are tired but fine. and the hips are okay. So note to all your theater tech folks -- do NOT run 12.26 miles and then pull an all-night tech set up session! :rotfl2:

Today is a Rest Day!!! I have show run through tonight (all this week) and the show opens Friday night with shows on Saturday and Sunday. I plan to get in 2-3 early morning runs this week, and hoping I can get a LR in on early Saturday.

Have a great week! :)

Hi team! Happy Monday! How's everyone doing with an hour less sleep?

Rick - Weight loss does slow down the closer you get to your goal. I think it's just because you don't have as much to lose anymore. If you feel like you're plateauing, I would try shaking up your workout and running routine. I've heard that your body gets really efficient once it gets use to a workout. So if you're crosstraining, maybe throw in some weights to existing metabolic exercises. My trainers will sometimes have me row dumbbell weights while I'm doing a burpee. And ... this sounds counterintutitive but sometimes a cheat day helps to keep your metabolism guessing.

Lots of pixiedust: for Christi!

Btw - thanks for the encouragement on Friday!

Mike - Great RR so far! Sorry to hear about all the travel headaches - I'm glad Susie and Jim were able to help out. Is the Peabody a boutique hotel or a chain? Might want to send their HO a letter and let them know what happened as well. Imagine all the runners who were staying there and didn't know anyone else there. Yikes. Can't wait to read day 2!

Glad to hear Liz is feeling better! How did you like John Carter? I vaguely remember you saying you had read the books? I saw it yesterday and liked it better than I thought I would but ...

Congrats on getting into MCM! I'm jealous that you get VIP access for all that stuff! I'll get you added to the race calendar! And good luck on the running store job! That sounds way cool!

Dave - Great 4 miler! I'm wondering about the Disney races too. I'm hoping they'll have a discount code like they did last year. Every little bit helps! Were you able to get free dining on your September trip?

Tandy - With all that practice and training, it sounds like Harrison is heading to the major leagues! He must be having a blast with baseball! Is he at the camp by himself or with his teammates? How's his PF doing? I hope he's better but lots of pixiedust: if not.

You can send some of that warm weather my way! I know what you mean about it being too warm. Yesterday it was 59F (15C) out and when I was in the sun, it started feeling a bit on the hot side. Have fun at Zumba tonight and enjoy your March break :)

Lynn - You're not the first person I've heard say that about the potential of more winter weather! I hope not - the first day of spring is right around the corner! Great job on the 13 miles! Have you reconditioned to the higher altitude again?

Eva - The boards are funny sometimes ... I usually cut and paste my post to a Word document... just in case!

Kimberley - If you're doing Goofy, the engraving company will only do the full and the half. The back of the medal doesn't have a spot for engraving. I think they were charging $20 and it was cash only? If you want your Goofy medal done, you have to leave the medal with them and they'll mail it back to you.

Robbie - That's a tough one. You could keep an eye on the registration numbers and register once it gets up to about 85% or so. I believe the registrations can now be defered to another race but don't quote me on that one. I can see the anniversary medal affecting the full registration but the half has always been the more popular of the two races. I'm pretty sure that you can transfer between the half and the full because I think Kim did that in a previous year.

Regina - Fingers crossed that you and DH will be able to do the RnR Portland. Sounds like a fun race! And WTG on getting up at 4AM for running! That's awesome! To make it easier, just pretend you're on the East coast and on EST LOL I have no idea! Does your coffee maker have a timer? Maybe you could set it to start going off at 3:45AM or something like that. Thanks for the texts on Friday! It helped me get my butt in gear!

Kim - and pixiedust:

AFM - I did a 3 miler on Friday and Saturday and then 7 on Sunday. I stayed a bit behind after my training session on Friday evening because my trainer was doing a challenge with another one of his clients. Her challenge was to push a 65 lb sandbag back and forth across the gym without stopping and then do 40 quick steps. If she won, my trainer had to push all three sandbags (I think they weighed close to 300lbs) across the gym floor with another trainer on his back. Needless to say she won! And lucky for him, all the other trainers had left - so that left me which I have to say wasn't all that fair because I think I'm a lot lighter than a guy. I think he made it about two feet before I wanted off - I felt like I was going to fall off. Even though I was watching, I still got to yell at him ... you know all those things a trainer says when they're trying to get you to do a workout ... dig deep! No stopping! Just 4 more steps  Maybe he'll have some sympathy for us when we have to stop in the middle of an exercise.

Sunday was gorgeous for a run! It was 59F (15C) and sunny! I got out there in a shorts and a tee. I took my arm sleeves too because it was still quite windy. But I took them off before I reached a mile. The funny thing was I saw other runners still wearing tights and long sleeves. Go figure! It was definitely a lot nicer being outside than it was on the TM!

Going to a training session tonight and home to relax! I didn't notice it yesterday but I'm feeling the effects of moving the clocks an hour ahead today.

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

thanks for the info guys. I feel a little better about the engraving, knowing it wasn't a part of the deal - I wish I had known it was an option though - I should have joined this group earlier! :)

MIke - enjoying the TR so far - can't wait to hear the rest - and its amazing what a great running group we are all a part of - the help you received was tremendous!

rick - good lord - 12 miles and then up until 3 am doing set work - you are amazing!

tandy - thanks for the kudos! did you do the run with harrison (love that name btw)

Good Morning Team!

Dave - You sound like you are feeling better.

Tandy - Wishful thinking for early spring. Hope Harrison made it thru his busy day yesterday.

Mike - Are you looking at the job at the running store as a replacement job or a 2nd job? Great race report, seems like you went thru a lot of trouble for a 5K race!

Kimberly - If you look for a long line outside a tent at race finish - that will be the engraving tent.

AFM - Did not get out yesterday at all! I got caught up on a project. I was also doing laundry, so there were numerous runs up and down stairs, but that is all I can claim. Hope to do better today.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day team!

Good morning team. I have enjoyed my last day of sleeping in. Tomorrow I get to start waking up at 5 again. Yuck!

Kimberely: We are part of an amazing group aren't we? :thumbsup2 No, no run with Harrison. His heel was still hurting.:guilty:

Vicky: Harrison is in the camp with about half of his team. It's just for 2 days, so they'll be done today. LOVE the story with your trainer. I think it would be fun to turn the tables on him. Glad it was so nice for your run. I am loving this weather!

Rick: Wow. You're pretty amazing if you can run 12 and then work all night. Impressive!:thumbsup2 I would be prepared for DQ next time! I didn't realize you were so multi-talented and could do sound and lighting and everything. Frank's brother works for a theater in Branson as a sound engineer. He loves his job, but I'm just lost when I look at those boards.

Mike: Great RR so far. Sorry the hotel didn't work out as planned, but a real testament to the WISH team!
I wouldn't worry about the age thing. My husband was 40 when we had Harrison (he's 10 years older than me). He jokes sometimes about the fact that he's old enough to be the dad of some of the dads, but he's a much better dad now because of his maturity.

Dave: Sorry you didn't break your record, but that's a great time! Yeah, I think the full is going to fill up faster than in the past, but who knows?

AFM: Had a great day personally yesterday, but not so good for Harrison. His heel still hurts, so I'm cancelling our plans for the 10k. There's just no way he's going to be able to do it. :sad1: I could do it alone, but it's just not a big deal. I'm going to just have to plan something else for the fall maybe.

But, I walked 3.5 miles, ran 3, and went to zumba last night. I also had my zumba instructor/classmate over to work on our project. We had a moment of weakness when we heard the ice cream truck. We went flying out the door and chased him down. But, I got a small one that was only 140 calories, so I'm not too concerned. ;)

I'm hoping to get 3 or 4 miles in today. It's going to be 85 degrees, which I still can't believe. Time to break out the shorts, no matter how pale I am!

Lynn: We were posting at the same time, I guess. Sorry you didn't get out yesterday. I think stairs and laundry count.
