Team Hakuna Matata had a Visitor Stop By from the Walt's Warriors Team!

:thanks: John VN for the thoughts and Well Wishes for our :hippie:

Good morning Margie. Yes it's a good morning, I meet with the lawyer in a little while to prepare the settlement agreement to submit to Erica's lawyer for approval. Then I'll take an eassy walk just to test all my parts for tomorrow's return to training.:thumbsup2

I was still up early, even got a blog entry done, and feel very at peace today. I'm off today and tomorrow with tomorrow being date night with Sally. Be a cheap date night since I'll be broke as a church mouse for a month. Then I'll take a good look at my dauther's situation and see what needs to be done there to steer her onto the right track.:cloud9:

I know everyone has some life issues going and I'm thankfull to everyone on here for the support that has come my way. You guys are all aces and I'm proud to call each of your friend.

Dave:hippie:

Hi team! Well I brought all my running gear downtown and went running at lunch. It was hot and I'm not use to running fast. Thank goodness for traffic lights! To his credit, my running buddy did slow down but I'd occasionally look at my watch and it said we were running at 7:30-8:00 m/m. I did have to take a lot of walking breaks because I'm just not use to going out that fast. I think I might have done better going at an even 9:00 m/m pace.

Dave - Sounds like you've got a good day ahead of you! Gotta love those! Hope things work out at the lawyer's.

Scott - pixiedust: Hope things go well for you today!

Regina - WTG on your 3 miler! There were actually quite a few people out running at noon. I have to say, I would have preferred to run my leisurely 10:30-11:30 m/m pace but I know I have to go faster if I ever want to be faster. I think the worst part was just feeling really hot after the run (even after a cold shower) for about a 1/2 hour afterward.

Kim - I can't imagine what the chalk tastes like let alone what it does to your body. But maybe it's just all minerals and calcium ... How was your walk? How are you finding the PX90 workout now?

Hope - Nice quilt! I laughed when you described how you opened the box!!

That's all for now! Gotta get back to work! Have a great day everyone :wave2:

Hi Team,

I ran five miles today in 48:38 for a pace of 9:43. I wanted eight, but it got too darn hot! Tomorrow is a routine doctor's appointment, so probably no run.
We got the Epcot Food and Wine Festival guide in the mail yesterday, did anyone else get one? I was checking it out and saw the band list, I mentioned to Liz that Howard Jones, Taylor Dane, and Kool and the Gang are scheduled while I (We) will be there. She said "Who?":confused3 Who?, I'm really not THAT old am I? She must be THAT young! (Ten years difference)

Scott~ I hope the surgery went well and you are in recovery!

Margie~ It's always fun to get a shopping deal. I'm the chief shopper, decorator in our house also.

Vicky~ l love the racing movie with Sly in it, although the name escapes me right now. Chicagoland Speedway has stock car, drag racing, and I think Indy car also. It's located in Joliet, IL about and hour outside of the city. Never been there for a race though. My dad and I used to go to the Milwaukee,WI track and watch the stock cars. I can remember seeing Bobby Allison and Ricky Rudd. Great run in the heat!

Dave~ Keep peace in your heart and it will follow in life. And have a beer once everything is signed!

Lynn~ How's the pup? Let us know about Scott when you can! :grouphug: to you both!

Hope~ Beautiful quilt! Getting closer to the wedding!

Fun Fact for the day: Did you know that an Indy car, at speeds over a hundred, produces enough down-force aerodynamicly to ride upside down if they could build the road! Acoording to Paul Neuman and Mario Andretti.

-Mike :cool2:

Thanks for the quilt love! It's bigger now, has the second row finished and the third is a little over half way done. Maybe, I'll have it together for our wedding. Or our fifth anniversary. It's all hand stitched.

Today was quite rotten. Found a "ding" on our car. Someone manage to whack our poor car. I had a rough therapy session, my therapist made me face one of my fears. Then we found out that Nick's debit card was compromised. So it's been a frustrating day, but I still had a 'date' with Nick so it wasn't all bad.

Oh, the movies were Percy Jackson and The Wolfman. Both were good.

Hello All!

Scott - I hope the surgery went well!

Regina - Homewood suites is south of Katella Blvd, it's not very close to the parks. But the race shuttle picked up at the hotel last year so I'm hoping it will this year. If all else fails we'll drive ourselves. We decided to stay farther away because last year we stayed at the Fairfield Inn and the fireworks were very loud. We're following the marathoning for mortals half marathon walk/ run plan. WTG on your 3 miler! I also have days where I just don't want to go running.

Dave - I hope everything went well at the lawyer's today.

Hope - Your quilt is beautiful, so amazing that it is hand stitched.

AFM - Went running yesterday after work, the temperature has dropped down into the 80s so it was quite nice out. Had a softball game tonight. My team won :cool1: I had a pretty good game too, I just started playing this year so I'm happy if I manage to catch the ball or score a run.

Have a great day!

Good morning y'all.

Well my lawyer is drafting the final settlement/closure agreement. He will run it by her lawyer and then have the judge bless it as a permanent change to the divorce degree. As long as she, my ex, doesn't decide to get weird about something it should be a done deal within a week. Of course I'll have to run over something on the way home from work in the evenings if I'm to have supper but I'll be finally free of her.

I'm heading out to walk with my race walking group this morning. I'll just do an easy pace and not our normal sub 12 min miles. I tried a walk yesterday and it went pretty well. I went 2.5 miles and the last mile was a bit uncomfortable but I wasn't hurting after and I stretched really well after. I didn't hurt when I got up this morning either so that is encouraging.

I'm headed off to Nashville to spend the evening with Sally.

Everyone have a magical day.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Mostly Sunny - High 86°- 79% Humidity
It feel very not good outside~

Connie-:thanks: the flowers are Beautiful!
It was such a wonderful surprise!
Thank You- Thank You- Thank You-

Dave- hope all goes well with the final agreement soon!
How did the walk go this morning?

Emily-Congratulations on the Softball Win!

Hope- it sounds like you need some ‘Good Karma’
Irritable rude people, car damaged, and debit card compromised!
Jeez – that is terrible

Kim-hope you had a good walk last night!
It was so humid here- I did a lot of coughing after my bike ride.

Mike-WTG-that was a great 5-miler!
You do the decorating-Wow!
Nope, I do not like to shop
But when a project is started–I want it completed yesterday with all SALE items.
Fun Fact: Who Knew :confused3

Regina-:upsidedow

Scott-hope you are going great after surgery!

Vicky- WTG – you really had a great ‘Speed’ run.
Maybe it is just what you need is to be challenged (?)

Sounds like surgery went well, I feel good just a pinch sore, will hit the stationary bike today, getting around pretty darn good. No pain meds yet as I avoid them like crazy.

Dave a Chruch Mouse can be rich in many ways.

Lynn did a 6 miler in this morn.

Good morning everyone!

Dave - If you're going to run something over, can you run something over for me too? Sounds like your PF is starting to get better! Make sure you're still taking things easy though. Have fun with Sally tonight!

Emily - Congrats on winning the softball game! Funny how a small drop in temperature when it's this hot out can make such a big difference for running.

Hope - Sorry to hear about the ding :( People can be really careless sometimes when they're opening doors in parking lots. Hope the session with the therapist was cathartic and you're feeling better :)

Mike - Great run and pace, especially considering the heat! I had to go and look up the name of the movie it's Driven. I had to laugh at the age thing - when I went to DC last month, I was talking to my friend's GF who's 10 years younger than him (so recent college grad). I can't remember how we started talking about it but I happened to mention Jello pudding pops. And she was like "What's that??" So I'm trying to explain what they are - you know Bill Cosby ... and she's just looking at me blankly. Oh you kids! (Boy did I feel old though).

Lynn - WTG on your 6 miler! Did the pups give you any attitude about the distance?

Scott - Glad to hear that your surgery went well! You're able to hop back on the bike a day after? Make sure you take it easy though.

Margie - Thanks for sending over the pictures! The room looks amazing! You did a great job!! I think I do need someone to push me a little so I think running with someone faster will be tricky for a little bit but I'm hoping I'll eventually get use to it. And I think like all things (in my life), it's always nice to have someone to help push and cheer me along!

AFM - The local running store is having a 20 minute fun run tonight so I think I'll go and check it out. Okay, I'm really going for the free hat and the discount coupon (I need to get a new Fuel Belt) but want to see what it's like and try to go out with them regularly on Wednesday nights. The only thing is that they meet at 6:30 PM which means I'd have to eat well before or a lot later than I'm use to (7:30-8PM by the time the run is done and I'm back home). So we'll see.

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Vicky, yes I'll aim for a large one that we can share, a small deer or turkey should do nicely. Lots more wood chucks and raccoons though. If I were you I would eat a small snack a bit before and then your dinner after even though it's later.

Scott, very true about the church mouse, or in this case panda. I'm rich with friends. My walker buds wanted to get me new shoes this morning since mine are getting pretty worn. I told them I would be fine and I will since I've been saving every penny for this closure.

Margie, yes the walk went well, I walked the first two miles easy, 14:08 pace then the group went on to finish their 6.5 miles while I stretched. It was pretty comfortable.

I'm off to do some laundry then a nap and off to Nashville for Sally time.

Dave:hippie:

Well, thank goodness I didn't start the vegetarian diet I had been thinking about

The snack before sounds like a good idea! :thumbsup2

Hi Kids,

Just checking in today, no workout. We are supposed to have some major storms tonight, bu who knows, everything seems to go South and towards Margie!
Went to see the cancer doc today and he says my bloodwork is perfect. I'm apparently in great shape. My pulse rate was only 43 and the nurse remarked how low it was and how it is good even for a runner. Results for tests for my cancer marker in my blood will be back at my next visit in a few weeks. I'm not expecting any suprises as last time it was way down. Now, if I can only lose about twenty pounds more....

Scott~ Glad to hear that you are doing well! -Mike :cool2:

To all who have asked – Taiya seems to be fine, she went on a 6 mile walk this morning – she is still yelping occasionally, mostly when someone touches her head behind her ears, but then if we probe the area, she does not react at all, so, who knows? We start our walk at about 60 degrees or less – so heat should not be an issue.

All of our malamutes are named after geographical features in Alaska - usually mountains. Taiya is a mountain range, Kali is short for Kahiltna which is a glacier. Whenever we get a new dog, I get a detailed map of Alaska and start writing down names, after a few days, we usually find one that seems to fit the puppy.

Hope – nice quilt!

Dave – good luck to you with your dealings with Erica! Have fun on your date night!

Scott’s surgery went well according to the doc – it was short – just 2 hours from entering prep to when doc came out saying he was awake! Today we went shopping, he was looking for a specific classical CD – which apparently does not exist in Cheyenne – but the stop at several stores wore him out, at least he will now sit – I could not get him to sit down this morning, he kept running around doing stuff! I do not know if he will make it downstairs to the bike today – maybe tomorrow. Doc said he could do stuff as long as he felt OK.

The dogs and I did a 6 mile walk this morning, both dogs did fine on the walk (even Kali, who thinks she does not want to walk, has fun once we start out – they were both trying to chase rabbits today – my arms are sore from holding them back). It was harder than last weeks 6 miles because of the last 2 days of really short or no walks. I do better when I walk daily.

Pixie dust to all who are in need!

Have a great day all!

Hi team,

Dave- I’m keeping my fingers crossed everything goes through without a hitch!! I hope you enjoyed date night with Sally. :goodvibes

Vicky- Way to go making it through your lunch run!! It sounds like you’ll be speedy in no time keeping up that fast of a pace! How’d the 20 min. fun run go? What did the free hat look like? Hopefully the discount is a good one! Which fuel belt do you use?

Hope- I hope today went better for you! I haven’t seen the Wolfman, but I liked Percy Jackson.

Kim-:wave2:

Emily- Thanks! Well, it sounds like if the shuttle went there last year there’s a good chance it will run there this year? Lots of people on WISH seem to talk about marathoning for mortals and say good things about it. I’m using the marathon method by Tom Holland to train for my first half. Congrats on winning your softball game!! :woohoo: I’m glad the weather was also cooler for your run.

Margie- WTG on your 11 mile bike ride!!:cheer2:

Scott- I’m glad surgery went well. What did they say recovery time was? I was also surprised you were able to hop back on the bike the day after.

Mike- That’s great! I’m glad to hear you’re healthy!

Lynn- I’m glad Taiya is ok. What made you decide to name your dogs after geographical features in Alaska? Sounds like you got a pretty good arm workout! Great job on your 6 miles!

AFM, DH and I went to the gym and did our workouts today. I held the plank for 2 minutes! The side ones are still a lot harder. DH said it’s time for me to make the planks harder and keep building that way….so we will see how that goes. I only have 1 workday left because I took Friday off this week. I think that’s about it…nothing too crazy going on in Idaho (at least not with me!). I hope everyone’s well!

BTW, how do I do a picture in the signature, and how do I get a “Team Hakuna Matata” pic for my signature? I’ve tried to look for the thread before that says how to do it, but couldn’t find it??

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Mostly Sunny - High 84°- 93% Humidity

Off to the Zoo – will catch up later!

Scott-hope you had a good day yesterday. :flower3:

Hi everyone!

Margie - Have a fantastic day at the zoo! How many kiddos are you taking with you?

Regina - WTG on your planks! I think I get wobbly and shakey after 30 seconds or so. To add the HK logo, you have to click on the link for your User CP (top of the page, left hand side), then click on edit signature and cut and paste this link into your signature and save (just remove the space I added in). http: //s244.photobucket.com/albums/gg37/scotth5150/th_HM2-3.jpg

I use the two bottle belt - http://www.fuelbelt.com/fuel_belts/2_bottle.html It's the first one at the top of the page. For my longer runs, I'm finding that two bottles isn't quite enough, especially with the temperatures so I'm getting a 4 bottle belt. My only complaint with the belt was that the front pocket wasn't quite big enough for my phone and some extra beans or blocs.

The fun run was ... fun :) They gave us cake and water afterward. I started at the back of the group and got bored so I decided I'd try to catch up to the people at the front. I caught up to them and ended up being the first person back. So you know that people weren't going fast at all  The hat was red - I'll post a pic when I get home.

Kim - Congrats on the new Garmin! Don't throw it around ;) Just ask us and we'll help you out. Did you get a free hat at the Running Room yesterday?

Mike - Great news from the doctor!! Are you going to try and lose the 20 lbs? I forget how much you've lost so far.

Hope - Hope you're having a good day today!

Lynn - that's a great way to get names! Hadn't thought about doing that before. Hope everything is okay with Taiya!

Scott - How's the knee doing today? Hope you're taking things easy :)

AFM - I did the fun run at the local running store yesterday. There were lots of people and I did chat with a few runners but like me they were there for the hat and cake :D I'll try going back next Wednesday to see what the regular groups are like. They also have a group that goes out Sunday morning .. but it's at 8:30AM. I finished the run in about 17+ minutes, I got bored and just decided to see if I could catch up to the runners in front.

I've got training tonight and then tomorrow is a rest day and Friday. Definitely looking forward to the weekend :)

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Good morning Team!

Regina - Good job on the planks! The dogs are Alaskan malamutes - Alaskan names seemed appropriate.

We did only a short walk today but have 12 planned for tomorrow. Scott is doing OK, he was a bit more sore this morning, he did not get on the bike yesterday - maybe today. Need to get back to the tour, have a great day team!
