Hakuna Matata; Independent, proud, and flashy!

Margie, hope it gets better for ya, and thank for the bike info,

We did find a hitch mount Yakama that I do believe will work well. Limits access to teh rear area of the Jeep but it is a 4 door jeep.

I am still standing, it's hard to imagine that it's already the 20th and I haven't posted my miles or anything yet. I have been crazy busy with the family. We do have the new granddaughter set to arrive in about a month so we are planning all sorts of things including a baby shower, quilts and clothes.

My DS Nick is in Hollywood having worked on a 5 min short for the movie - Mystery Team that he worked on last summer. The are premiering it at ComicCon in San Diego later this week. It's a big convention that he gets to attend thanks to the Mystery Team group. They asked him - and paid for his fare out to LA and San Diego to help them out. He's having a blast. His hotel is near the Hollywood Sign in Glendale. Don't get me wrong, he's working hard but it's what he loves. I can't say more than that as some of it can't come out till the short is shown. It will be on Youtube later.

His current project is to construct props for the booth at the convention.

So between making sure he has all sorts of stuff to go out to LA, the new granddaughter has quilts for the princess she will be. The shower planning for the mama to be, I've been lax about posting, walking and being part of the team. So thanks for your patience and I hope to be somewhat back to normal, when Mr Hollywood comes home, the shower is over and the waiting game beings for Princess Josie to arrive.

This is the trailer that is more appropriate for the general audience, the original one had some mighty colorful:rolleyes: language that would not be Disney approved.

That is so cool that he is going to have stuff he worked on in a movie. He will be famous some day. Watch out HollyWood.

It has been such nice weather here I could easly get spoiled having spring in July. Nice walk this morning and a PR for my 5 mile hill route.

Margie:hug:

Connie:hippie:

Kim, Vicky and Sue thank you for the weather.:yay:

Walking Panda:hippie:

Very nice temp for the morning run, sunrise and then clouds and temp of about 60.

Looks like a full day at work and maybe tomorrow off, Pancake breakfast, which is really KEWL. They use it as training for feeding mass groups of folks in the event of a disaster. They feed about 12,000 people in about an hour, pancakes, ham, coffee, and juice. It is really an amazing thing to see and it is free. Pancake batter mixed in a cement mixer is KEWL!!!!

Have a great day Kids….

Scott~ we know where our disaster food is coming from. We have an all you can eat sea food restaurant w/ no generator......... they donate and get the tax write off. :thumbsup2

Morning team! :wave2:

Dave - Normally I would be missing the hot weather but since I started running, I think a cooler summer is a blessing in disguise. At the very worst, all I need to do is to take a light sweater with me in the morning. How's the car shopping going?

Kim - No reply yet from anyone at the Midsummer's Night Run. I'm tempted to register online but you know as soon as I do that, they'll probably process my paper registration.

Denise - Congrats to Nick! I know how much hard work goes into a movie. You must be so proud of him :) I can't wait to see the new short!

Scott - My mom is a hard core pack rat so unfortunately I've got a lot of experience. I did declutter a lot when we renovated recently and having a lot less "stuff" is nice :) Btw, were you joking about the pancake mix and cement mixer?

Lynn - How's the new bed?

Jennifer - Congrats on registering for your first marathon! I forget ... Are you coming for marathon weekend in January?

AFM - Worked out with my PT last night. We did a lot more lighter weights. I wanted to do some deadlifting but seem to have misplaced my gloves. I don't really enjoy the calluses so I didn't lift anything heavy. Will go out tonight for a quick 3-miler. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain.

Jack, I am making a note to head east in the event of a disaster, LOL

Vicky - no joke that is how they really do it. Film at 11:00 if I remember to snap a couple with the phone camera.

Vicky, hopefully I'll be doing the full (I haven't registered yet), but I won't know until another month or so. I'm in my first year teaching and I have to find out if I can take a day off for it. If not this year, I should have enough next year to do it.

I did an easy 4 miles in 35 minute (8:45 pace) and high humidity (between rainstorms).

Best,
Jennifer

It was pouring rain this morning so we had to head indoors for the wed group walking. We have an indoor track so we did speed intervals. 50m go full out and 100m brisk repeats, we did that for an hour for a hard but interesting workout. The brisk was at about 13 min pace and the full about 10 min pace. I was tired but felt good at the end.

I'm ready for another escape to Canada.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Raining here too (we get a lot of the same weather, Dave) so I went to the gym. Did about 2 miles on the TM, then did a lower body workout. Felt good!

Vicky sent you a PM.

How is everyone doing? Weather this summer has sucked here in southern, Ontario. Great for sleeping since I don't like airconditioning but wow is summer ever going to get here???

Good morning guys.

I have to work a couple of back to back 12 hour shifts so I won't be around much. Also today is going to be a rest day since I don't do 12 hour shifts and workouts well together.

Kimmer, yep the weather has been strange this year, more rain han I can remember for a long time. You have a beautiful house there and live in an awesome area.

I'm worried about a friend right now that's going through a ton stress and I'm not sure how to help.

Scott and Lynn, we miss y'all, we still have to do a Dumbo do or die day with y'all.

Margie, hope Sarah is doing better, that has to be just aweful for her. Send our love and hugs.

Everyone, have an awesome day and stay out of trouble, I know that's hard sometimes.

Dave:hippie:

Hey Dave. Sorry to hear about your friend. So many people are dealing with stress in this ecomony. Hopefully they come through it all OK.

23 weeks today, I will be in Disney....anyone else:goodvibes

Morning team! Just a quick drive-by for me today... Well, I woke up early this morning (5AM) and planned to go running before work but it was raining so not much I could do there. I will try again tomorrow morning as time will be tight this weekend. Going to the gym tonight for an hour workout. Hopefully the rain will have stopped by then so I can walk home.

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Good Morning Team!

Vicki - new bed is great!

Weather has been really nice - if a bit warm for my taste - here. At least the mornings are cool, so I have been able to get walks in. We spent all day yesterday out and about at Frontier Days activities - so no walk or weight routine, so I will have to make up for that today - did get short walk in this morning, but we are having friends over for lunch - hopefully Scott will be able to sneak out of work for a bit for lunch - so I will be busy this morning cleaning the house! Better get going!

Have a great day team!

Oh well, today was a case of best laid plans. I got up early to walk before work and as I was drinking my coffee and eating cereal, the news caster said a storm was moving in and sure enough it started pouring.

So since I'm off early I may be able to make it tonight. If not in the morning for sure.

Have an awesome day y'all.

Early Panda:hippie:

Up and at em in the office, hope to be able to leave early today, gotta work on the sump pump.

Hope to get a nice long run in tomorrow morn, I have had some kinda low grade bug that has zapped my energy. Feel ok this morn, so think it is in the past.

Very rainy night last night, good sleeping weather. Got in 4.5 miles on the TM at work before heading out in it. Glad last week end is over. Up coming events here in town the three day Sea Food Festival.... You name it they sell it. Lobsta, quahogs, steamers, clams, corn of the cob. BEER. I think I'm sitting in the dunk tank :scared1: for an hour for charity
On Labor Day weekend it's the Rhythm & Roots Concert (three days) mostly Cajun, Bluegrass and Zydeco. Where did the summer go?
Hope everyone is doing well;

Jenn~ hope you're settling in and adjusting to the new digs.

Dave:hippie:~ just being there for your friend I'm sure is a comfort to him, good luck.

Scott & Lynn~ One word - TIKI

Kim, Vicky, Marge, MaryJ, Connie, Debra, and everyone have a great weekend. :thumbsup2

Jack

Good Morning Team!

Nice day here today - next week is supposed to be cooler and raining. I did get in 3 miles this morning, walking is harder and harder - I think it is partly psychological, now that I know something is wrong with my knee, but the bike riding is not bad. I've been playing tourist and visiting the last 2 days, but now I can get back into the swing of things. I have been keeping up the weight routine 3 times a week.

Hope the rainy east coast dries up a bit for you all.

Have a great day!

Jack can ya get Conch there?????

Yes where did Summer go....
