Hakuna Matata-Happy April

OMG, 80 one day and snow the next. I'll take NH. My yard is now snow free - completely. We have some spots at work that still have a pile because the roof had to be shoveled off. A flat roof with heavy wet snow is a disaster waiting to happen.

I took today off from training. I did some core last night and increased my weights and woke at 3am with terrible neck pain probably from never being used. I took some tylenol and had to resort to some of my neck meds today. I came home for lunch and took a 20 min nap. Feeling better tonight and will do my normal stretches but that's it. PT tomorrow so I'll get an hour of time and will probably walk too.

Dave -- So glad Erica is doing better and your weight will be less than mine soon unless I get on the band wagon!

I did DVR some exercise stuff from Exercise TV and will try those too.

Well it's almost time for bed and I still have my stretches so I'll sign off. Take care.

Hi guys and pretty princesses.

Denise, feel better sweet princess. You are gonna beat this neck and headache thing.

Kathy, sounds like you stay busy as a bee. I feel your pain with the weather fluxes. It was 72 yesterday when we got home from Nashville and this morning when it's my walk time it's 40 degrees. Surely soon it will be in the 50s in the mornings.

Connie, dear, real men don't hunt deer with a bow, they drop out of a tree on them and wreastle them to the ground.

Scott, did you ever get off work? Good thing you are paid by the hour. Lynn are you keeping him out of trouble?

How is the weather up in Canada these days? Are you still getting snow to Margie?

I'm off to the gym to keep the pudge on the run.

Good morning Team!

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here in North Alabama. Which is weird considering we had a high of 52 Sunday and I wore pants and a sweater to church. Monday it sleeted. By Wednesday we were back in shorts. Is it safe to put up the winter clothes yet??:confused3

Boot Camp is on schedule tonght. Should be fun since I missed it last Thursday. I'm going to go pop some Aleve now in anticipation...

Have a great day!

Kristen

:cheer2: :cheer2: Erica's check up was good, even with the rainbow toes! She sounds good but not quite up to her bubbly self yet...Soon. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes, we had snow this week, but it dissipated before hitting the ground! We are actually seeing signs of spring, some flowers are peeking up, the grass is getting a green cast, and birds are singing...:cloud9:

Hagen & I walked yesterday - nice but high winds. He was so cute I would push the cover down to block-protect him from the wind and he would stick his hand out to feel the wind. We are going out today hopefully before lunch.

Everyone has colds and are high maintenance this week

Home School musical tonight - this week my training schedule is way off.

Good Morning Team!

The last snow missed us, it was cold and windy, VERY WINDY, yesterday, but no snow. I waited until afternoon, when the wind finally calmed down to just over 20mph (from 40-50mph) to go for our walk. It did look like it would start snowing at any minute, but it never did.

Today is supposed to be a bit warmer (high of 46), but the best news is CALM WIND, it is supposed to stay under 10mph all day! I have an appointment this morning, so I hope it stays calm for later today.

Yesterday I was going for speed, I did 6 miles, but my pace was still over 15:00 (it was 15:15), and I was really pushing the walk pace, and running occasionally. I am really glad that my race pace is usually faster than my training pace, and that I will still have the high altitude conditioning when I do the Minnie!

Erica - glad to hear you are recovering, try to keep Dave off your feet!

Scott got home from work at 7pm last night, he thought it was 5pm and wanted to go the dinner we were supposed to go to - the dinner ended at 7:30, I had to tell him that we were a little too late for it! Case should be over on Friday, so hopefully our weekend will be normal, or at least, he will be home for it! He may spend the whole weekend just catching up on all the computer boards he has been neglecting! We did get out for a quick walk around the block (1.25 miles), which is the first time he has been out walking this week, he did get up early one morning and spend some time on the treadmill earlier in the week.

Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone! The weekend is almost here! :goodvibes I can't believe how close to the Minnie Marathon we're getting!

I went outside running for the first time (ever :scared1: ) Can you tell how much trouble I'm going to be in a couple of weeks  Well it's certainly not like running on the TM. I feel like I need to push myself a lot harder so that I'm running at a decent pace. I'm going to give it another try this afternoon and hopefully it will be better. I think I have to picture myself running for the bus

Dave - The weather up here is great! It's been warm and sunny all week! I went outside at lunch today for a walk and it was 17C or 62F Well, I guess warm relatively speaking. I remember being at Disney during December one year, the temperature was about the same and all the staff were wearing coats, hats and gloves :rotfl: Meanwhile, I was headed out in my shorts and t-shirt!

Denise - Hope neck feels better soon!

Connie - Taper? I'm jealous! I'm just starting up again! :goodvibes

Margie - Glad to hear Erica's check up was good!

Lynn - You sure do get a lot of wind where you are!

Well, hope everyone is having a great day!

Almost home time, YEAH! One more work day to go.

Bunnyfoo..... Walked over to TEC at lunch. I think the nice weather is bringing out the crazies. Saw your post on new shoes. Just purchased new ones last week for the Minnie. Probably at the same store. RR staff have always recommend a stabilty type shoe for me.
I wore the Kay. 13 for a short time also. Seemed liked good shoes and ended up with knee pain. Switched out to a motion control shoe (Miz. Alchemy). I'm on my 3rd pair, I stay off the treadmill and have no knee pain.

Happy Thursday night training everyone.....Sue

PS. Looks like I might even be able to wear shorts. :yay:

Hey Sue! That's where I wandered to during lunch as well :goodvibes I always say that's the good and bad of working downtown. We're close to the Eaton Center so it's easy to go shopping but it's a little *too* easy to go shopping.

Interesting insight on the Asics because I have knee pain as well - although I did have the knee pain before I bought the Asics. Back in January, I had tried a Mizuno but thought it was a bit heavy (compared to the Asics) ... I think I'll go back and give them a try.

Hi Everyone!

Well a beauty of a day here in NH. Went to PT for my knee, sharp pains on the side when I kneel on it.

Got the evaluation from the same guy that does my neck. I give him a hard time but he gives it back.

Anyway, I had to warm up on the bike, 2 miles for me on that :yay: then something I had seen other people do while I was there working on my neck. You sit on a stool that is low to the ground - think of office chair with no arms or back and "walk" around the room sitting on the chair. What a workout on your hamstrings. Holy Cow! Leg press 53 of those - did my age for a goal then back to try and kneel. It wasn't too bad. But he did say that he felt something pop back in when he was checking it. So for now we'll do some training and see how it goes.

Came home and did 3 miles with Mark so I got a lot of training in today.

Wilbur - I agree, it's Thursday - boy does it fly by, especially when your busy at work or you need to do more miles for the team..

Bunnyfoo and Sue,
shopping on the lunch hour - NICE, I go home, and take a nap, it's cheaper and I get more work done during the afternoon.

Dave, - pudge? what pudge - you must be shrinking away.

Lynn, no wind? How great is that, makes it feel almost like summer..

Well, I won't be working out tomorrow at least for miles, but will probably do my core stuff so I'll PM tomorrow my miles/hours.

Have a good one. Go Team!!:cheer2:

Sneaking in for a quick post before heading off to a meeting. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So nice to run in shorts last night.:cool1: Should have run with a short sleeve T but opted for long. Haven't been in shorts since the marathon in Jan. Need some sun on those pastie white legs. It's amazing how shedding the winter gear takes off pounds. It made me super fast.:rotfl:

Have a great weekend and training to everyone....Sue

Good Morning Team!

Vicki - I am just the opposite, I feel like I cannot do a decent pace when I am on the TM! For me, it is so much harder than walking outside. I would rather brave the cold and the wind!

Dave - I've been hearing on another thread about an earthquake in Kentucky this morning, did you feel it? When we lived in Jackson, we had them all the time, although I only ever felt one. I was either at work in a very secure building, or in a car, or sleeping!

Sue - I agree that running in shorts is great! Only have gotten to do it once so far this season. I might today if I waited until later, it is supposed to be 61 degrees today, but it is also supposed to be windy, so I plan to get out very shortly, while it is still cool, but before the wind picks up.

Yesterday I walk/ran for a few miles with the dogs, then got a pilates tape and some weights in. I was really sore last night. Today is supposed to be an 8 mile day, I actually do not feel to bad this morning, and Sat and Sun are usually rest days for me (or construction days, but not walking/running days). Better get going before that wind kicks up!

Have a great day, and a great weekend!

Yes the earthquake was shortly before I got up this morning. I usually wake a few minutes before the alarm goes off so I hug Erica. I had just snuggled up to her when the earth shook.

My workout today was great but it's time to up the pace, I'm feeling to fresh and springy after. 2 solid hours of motion and I felt great.

Is anyone else having a super year? I left the Goofy with a good case of achillies tendonitis but that is behind me now and I feel very strong.

Next week the mornings are going to be in the 50 degree range instead of 40 so I can do longer walks outside. I will miss the pace control on the tready but that's all I'll miss about it.

Have an awesome day y'all.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Scott glad you won, now it's time to relax. You know what they say about all work and no play.

Lynn we will be arriving at Disney the Sunday before ToT and leaving the following wed.

Margie:hug: Sounds like you are having a time of it with the sick kids. Try to find some Margie time in there somewhere.

Connie and Kathy, are you princesses ready for your OKC Race? Are you firing on all cylinders and ready to kick some ashpalt?

Denise, how is your knee?

Kim and Mike I'm ready for a cold one on the Boardwak how about y'all?

Bunny and Wilber, you guys finally getting the warm weather?

Cindy, hi princess, how's it going this weekend?

Everyone, have a wonderfull saturday and gets some sun and fun.

I'm off to the gym for pudge controll.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Woo-hoo, Scott! Way to go! Glad that all that hard work and stress paid off!

Lynn, I bet you're glad to have your hubby back!

Denise, take care of that neck! It sure is giving you fits, isn't it? Hopefully the PT will take care of it for good!

Sue and Bunnyfoo - Shopping at lunch? Why? Personally, I try to enjoy my lunch hour! :lmao: Shopping is really not my thing...

Margie, I hope everyone gets feeling better at your house!

Dave and Erica, I hope you didn't have any earthquake damage?? DS said he and his wife woke up to hear a door banging on their armoire and couldn't for the life of them figure out why it was doing that. He said they were apparently too groggy to feel anything. He said, "We didn't feel the earth shake, but we heard it!" :rotfl2: Morning has never been his best subject.....

Connie, where are you? Sewing that danged apron and bonnet? That one room schoolhouse day is looming closer and closer!

I have a "nice stretch of the legs" to do this morning - 5 miles. :) Some days it's still amazing to me that I can think of 5 miles as a short walk, considering where I was 5 years ago.....70 pounds overweight and barely walking from my car, parked up close to the building, into the building! But...a week from tomorrow, I'll be doing another half-marathon! :woohoo: Makes me smile!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good Morning TeaM!!

I am using a new keyboard so I misspell anything, it's because I can't spell!! :lmao: MY DOOC made me buy a new keyboard because I had the old one so long all the letters had been rubbed out! I didn't mind, but the hunt and peck peeps in my world were pretty disgusted! ;)

I am have back spasms. I hate that. I will go for that little 5 miles that Kathy is going on. Can't hurt, might help! Sometimes, stretching it out works. I would love to place the blame for the back on DOOC for making get a new keyboard, but it hurt before that. It is such a pain to change anything out on computer!

Scott CONGRATULATIONS! Glad you won!

Lynn Sorry you have to go back to work on the house. But hopefully, the Christmas party will be great! :rotfl:

Margie I hope all the germies depart soon!

Wilbur Congratulations on that winter weight loss!!! :rotfl2: Sometimes, I just don't like this time of year! We need the heater on in the mornings and the a/c by afternoon. I try to do my training in the afternoon. But the 1/2 will begin at 6 am. Hopefully, this warming trend will keep up!

Kathy Just 7 days until the race!

Everyone Thanks for getting your time in! We will be ending each month, similar to the way we ended February. So our last week will end on April 30. That means it will include the regular wee, plus. April 18 -30.

OKay, this is me getting out of here ...paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw:

Where or Where is Connie? :flower3:
I PM'd my Miles & Times last week -
Checked and not showing so I am not sure you rec'd?
Or maybe we are using a different spreadsheet location now?
Getting ready to PM this weeks.

Congrats, Scott!!!
I am with Lynn on being outside snowing, etc rather than use the dreadmill!

Thanks, Panda, the little guys were sick and high maintenance all week

Now I have a head cold :headache:

Now off to do important things but still will have no me time and I will not get to the gym today. So I could be walking in the rain later tonight! :guilty:

Thanks Guys, Plan for the day is to go for a walk and then to Denver to the zoo, a day of no respondsibility will be welcome.

Hope all of you are healing well, getting stronger. I need to get my but in gear and get some exercise in for sure.

Enjoy the day.
