Hakuna Matata - Gobbling up the road!

OMG it seems like forever since I've been here. I pop in on Facebook now and then and see the email updates but we have been busy at home. Some good - the princess, some bad -(another story). All seems to have settled down and that's good considering I will be leaving on Thanksgiving for WDW. Yes Mark and I are leaving early. A bit of an anniv present to ourselves. Next Monday will be 35 years and we spent our honeymoon in Fl. We were on International Drive in 1974 when it had 3 hotels. The dark ages........

Miranda will be working on Thanksgiving as will Hope and both will be too tired to come to dinner afterwards so Mark and I decided to treat ourselves to an early escape as the clan will swoop down to WDW the following Tuesday.

Not much to report this month but I will have a bit in the coming weeks with all the early morning jaunts in WDW. At least that's what we're planning.

I see that everyone is in high gear finishing up their training for the big events in January. Soon it will be taper mode!

I;ll be with you in spirit. But this year with all the issues, it's for the best that we had not planned our Marathon weekend.

Take care all,

denise

Good Morning! Just up from down stairs 40 min. on elliptical 4.5 miles. weights, shower, coffee and :surfweb: let's see what the day brings.

Last night we had a Wind meeting. Yes Wind! We're hoping to put a wind turbine in town to assist in powering government buildings, the first would be ours :goodvibes we hope. Had a Monk from Portsmouth Abbey speak as well as an engineer, company rep and lawyer. Seems people are afraid of things like "how loud it is!" "my property value will go down" "I don't want to look at it!" Hey folks it's not a NUCLEAR PLANT! One guy compared it to looking at Foxwoods (Casino in Ct.) Me personally I'd love one in my yard. The Abbey has one in a very affluent area of Narragansett Bay, neighbors don't mind; they like it. We have the land for it plenty of acres. and we're on the ocean. The engineer from Denmark explained they are CLOSING nuclear plants in Europe because of wind turbines, they are tearing down dams and reverting rivers back to nature because of turbines. It's hard to get people to change. We should be embracing alternatives to Oil/Coal and other limited natural resources. :confused3 Ok sorry I'll get down from my soapbox. :rolleyes1

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Denise- thrilled to hear from you-you really need to stop by and chat more often! Enjoy the moments at WDW...and we do understand but will miss you & Mark (and family) Marathon Weekend a BUNCH! ::yes::

Connie- Congratulations on getting your 8-miler accomplished on the DM...way to Go Girl! :worship:

Mary- that wonderful news that you are feeling better! You have two months to train so you will be able to do! :goodvibes

Jack-are you on track for your Mickey Training?
It's hard to get people to change.
You got that - fear of the unknown. :upsidedow

Sue-
Margie, No races until Disney but I've planned to do at least 2 of the 10/20 mile back to backs.
Ohhhhhhhh I am just hoping to get through one! :worship:

Jennifer- Then No Problem just enjoy the training :thumbsup2

Nice day for mid-November, high 40’s, Windy, and lots of moisture in the air. Temperature is dropping and rain is on the way.

Did 3.3 miles this morning, raked leaves for 2-plus hours, and took my little Hagen for a 1.2-mile walk before his nap time. ::yes::

Welcome back Denise, we missed you darlin.

((((((((((((((((((((((Margie))))))))))))))))))))))))) Just in case you needed a hug dear.

All the rest of you mutant road warriors I can't wait to be with you guys again.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning ~ 4.5 miles this morning beautiful weather, just right not to cold not to warm.

Margie~ I believe I'm on track, long run on the weekends and boosting my daily by the week... Won't be first but hopefully not last ;)

Hi everyone! I decided to switch things up this week and run in the evenings. DF isn't around until Friday (rest day) so I thought maybe the extra hour of sleep in the morning would help out. My order of winter running stuff came last night and wouldn't you know it, it's suppose to be about 10C (50F) tonight.

Jack - I remember hearing that wind farms can change weather patterns and that electricity from wind farms is more expensive. Other than that, haven't heard anything negative.

Margie - That's a lot of leaves! You need a giant vaccuum :)

Jennifer - Can you make your students run laps as punishment?

Denise - Hope you and Mark enjoy your mini getaway :) Sorry to hear that you won't be coming in January.

Mary - Welcome back! Glad to hear your health is improving. WTG on your 4 miles!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Kids just very very busy at work, notmuch down time.... have been hitting the TM of a cold WY morn,...

Good Morning TEAM! :wave2:

Oh, my thumbs-old Artie is frantic and giving me fits, after all that raking! :crazy2:

Vicky –yes, mega leaves and thinking even a blower would be nice! One more leaf pick up in December then if they are not all down it's bag them and wait for the spring pick up. ::yes::

Made it to the gym-I am trying to be good and get there early on Wednesday & Fridays. :goodvibes

This Training Schedule for the Goofy is explicit - walking on Tuesday, Thursday, Cross Training on Wednesday & Fridays, and the back-to-backs on Saturday & Sunday. It sure keeps one on task. :sad1:

:hippie: Of course, I can use a hug from a Friend-Everyday!

Jack- Okay, just make sure you are getting in your miles. :goodvibes Finishing, Happy, Uninjured, & Healthy will be Totally Awesome! :cloud9:

Scott- Hummm I'm not sure am I confused or are you! TM in WY-did you move? :confused3

Jennifer-It not just 11-12 yr olds that cause those Horrible, Terrible, No Good Very Bad Days! Sometimes we even unintentionally cause them for others. :flower3:

Later...

I'm happy to report that I did my 5 miles this morning with no trouble. It's cloudy and cold here, so I ran indoors on the track at the gym. Went with a walk 3 min/run 2 min. the entire time, which gave be about a 14.5 minute pace. After being so sick, I am thrilled with that! I felt good after the run too!

Hope everyone here has just as good a day as I have! :cloud9:

Margie, Thanks

Vicky, Only once track season starts. Actually a large part of the problem stems from the fact that they have no recess and only thirty minutes of PE at 8 am 3 times a week.

Today was better.

Have to go to a baby shower, so only got in 3.25 miles in 25 minutes. After the shower going to do some strength training.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning Team!

Rainy morning here. Nothing exciting to report. Actually I'm a slacker this week. Went for a pedicure last night & going to a concert tonight so no running. Didn't even bring my clothes to workout at the gym during lunch.

Mary, Nice job.

Scott, Taking DD7 to her first Jimmy concert tonight. I'm assuming you're a fan from your signature.

Vicky, We are passing on ATB. Pretty sure we are going to do Ottawa instead.

Margie, Hope you are feeling better from all the raking.

Have a great day............Sue

Good Morning, gym was full this morning will go down after it clears out.
In the meantime, for you morning chuckle; just when you thought you've heard it all, a woman called in this morning she is having a domestic please send an officer "who are you having a fight with?" "MY CAT! HE IS 24 YEARS OLD AND HAS JUST STARTED ACTING UP!"
Really you can't make this stuff up.
:goodvibes

Yes it's hard to make up better stories than the things some people do. One Day a man walked in our Lenscrafters store and said I'm here to pick up my glasses. I looked everywhere and couldn't find any information that he had ordered any. Turned out he got his exam next door and the receptionist said that Lenscrafters can have glasses made for him in an hour. So he wandered the mall for an hour and then came in to get his glasses.

Today was rest from training miles but good pilaties and stretching routine.

Hope everyone has a magical day.

Dave:hippie:

Hey everyone! It's a grey and rainy day here like Sue said. I was actually up at 6AM, ready to do my 3 miler (since Thursday evenings I'm at the gym). It was raining so I decided to get some extra shut eye. Will do my 3 miles at the gym after training. I plan on going easy because of the 10K Sunday.

Jack/Dave - Too funny! Thanks for the smile :) those stories remind me of the 911 call from a woman who said she was trapped in her car. Turns out all she needed to do was to unlock the door

Sue - The only thing about ATB is that you can't do packet pick up the day of the race. I thought about getting a hotel room but then maybe I should just make a weekend out of the race and go somewhere like Quebec City. Have you ever done a race there? Have fun at your concert!

Jennifer - I see ... I think I might go a little stir crazy too. How come no recess breaks? Waaaay back when I was in elementary school, we had two 15 minute recess breaks and a 1 hour lunch break. That must be hard on the teachers too, going the whole day without a breather. :(

MaryJ - WTG on your 5 miler!

Margie - WTG! That's one hard core training schedule! I guess with as many miles as the Goofy is, you have to keep up with training.

Kim - How's your heel doing today?

Scott/Lynn - :wave2:

Ok, that's all for now! Have a great day everyone!

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Hummm gift from Canada (?) Dreary Day – rain, dark, and cloudy in Michigan too. :umbrella: Did get my 3.3 miles in and 20-minutes of Pilate’s for Flexibility stretching.

MaryJ-:cheer2: WTG on your 5-miler!

Kim - pixiedust:

Sue-Enjoy the Concert! :rockband: Your training schedule will never notice a 'Slacker Day.' :goodvibes And Thanks but nope, Artie is still complaining about all the extra activity. :thanks: Tylenol Arthritis does help a little.

10K Virtual Turkey Trot – Way To Go - I see some of our Team will be joining me and getting up early to do the 10K early Thanksgiving Morn! ::yes::

:hippie:Well-if she told him you would have them ready in an hour. I see it as it was her fault for not getting you the prescription! :rolleyes1

Jack- Okay how was this :sad2: case of Domestic Disturbance handled? - What was the cat doing anyway? :lmao:
Oh, BTW Tell her Thanks for us, as she does make the rest of us look 'Really Good!' ::yes::

Vicky-No Way - Not thinking my Training Schedule could hold up to yours and Sue's! :worship:

Later...

Wow so far behind again.

THanks all heel is doing OK, I have actually had a pain free walk.
Going out for a 16 miler tonight if the weather is nice or tomorrow morning so that will be a good test for the heel and me;)

Busy at work, have been hitting the TM and am taking this morn off, will be a long day, lots to do, computer server working going on , contactcts, old reports, later kids be good play nice, work hard... and enjoy...

Had a great Gym workout today. Remember it's your overall condition that gets you through events like the goofy challenge.

I'm having a nap now with my princess then it's off to work for me.

7 weeks to princess hugs, can't wait. I need this coming vacation soooo bad.

Dave:hippie:

Sue, Just caught you JB reference, yes I am and good to see you nurturing the little parakeet LOL, I missed it on the Sirus broadcast... bummer.
