Hakuna Matata - Fall-o our training in September

Good Morning Team!

Good Luck Kim!

The knee is better, the range of motion is really improving - I had a lot of practice walking correctly at DL - ankle is still pretty swollen, but knee doesn't look bad, although it is still really black and blue. I am hoping that I can shortly start training walking again. I have been doing some light weight training and stationary bike riding.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning Team!

Always have such a hard time posting from work. Server issues maybe?

Had a great long weekend at the cottage. Beautiful weather & the leaves are just starting to change.

Saw a wolf on my long run. Made me a little nervous as we were both coming towards each other on the road.

Denise, Congrats on beautiful baby Josie. She is sooooo cute.

Connie, Trust me I have many days that I lack motivation.

Jen & Scott, Congrats on your great races.

Margie Congrats on all the mileage you are doing. :thumbsup2

Kim, Saw your other post about Goofy back to backs. Here is my 2 cents. I will be doing this. I think it's important to train the body on how to handle & recover from the many miles we will be doing both mentally & physically.
More of my 2 cents. I have done the full 2x going for my first Goofy. Both races I have always struggled after leaving AK before getting to
The Studios (miles 18-21). This is the hardest for me so I'm upping my training to a long run of 22 miles. This is just my personal issue. There have been many runners who only do as much as 15 miles in training who complete a marathon.

I'm sure Dave & Scott will have more to add from their previous Goofy
experience.

I've rambled on enough.....make it a great day everyone.......Sue

Hi all,

4.25 miles in 33 minutes plus strength training.

I think it's safe to say I recovered quickly.

Best,
Jennifer

Hello....

Haven't posted in a while - sorry about that. We did the DLR 5K last Saturday, and Sarah and I did the half marathon on Sunday. My time was 3:28, and hers was 2:40. I had a hard time, and can definitely state that my "angels in green" (both virtual and in person) were what got me across that finish line.

I wish I could thank each of you in person, and hopefully I will have the chance soon..... You are amazing.

Terri

Terri the green team is the absolute best!!!!!!! Congrats on your finish and WTG also to Sarah!!!

Good morning team.

I have a 12 hr shift today so today is a rest day. I'm trying to talk the GM into letting us go to 3 12s and a half day on sunday instead of a 5 day work week. I could get more LSD in that way.

I have been having issues with my achillies and yesterday for the first time in a couple of months I was able to do some hard accelerations without pain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's a sign of real improvement. I haven't been able to race well since it started.

Baby is good, he wakes to be fed every 4 hours at night and during the day he enjoys watching the mobile on the swing that Kimmer bought him.

Erica started putting some cereal in the milk so he would go longer between feedings, it worked he was waking every 3 hours.

Have an awesome day y'all.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning everyone! Did my 3 miler this morning. It was quiet and cool out. I also did some speed work yesterday afternoon. I'd been skipping out on those for about a month now and just replacing them with mileage. Boy was I slow :)

Terri - Congrats on your 1/2!

Dave - pixiedust: for your achilles! Hope your day goes by quickly!

Lynn - pixiedust: for your knee!

Kim - I'm pretty much cutting out sugar except for one day a week. It's really hard to give up but so easy to get back into :)

Sue - Yikes! I think the only wildlife I see are squirrels and raccoons. My friend saw a bear when she was camping on the weekend.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

Weather here is :sad2:

Congratulations Terri & Sarah! Way To Go! :cheer2::cheer2:

Sue- A Wolf  but what an awesome sight! You are now our Little Red Riding Hood! ::yes::

:hippie: We have been wondering where you were! Did not know you were having problems again with your Achilles. Glad to hear it is doing better. Did you do the race Labor Day? Can relate to your little Aiden waking every three hours my little Hagen did that for a few months too. Maybe it is a common thing with Preemies-their little tummies are not fully developed. :littleangel: Hang in there it gets better. :cloud9:

Denise & Mark-how's your little Josie? :littleangel:

For our Wounded Road Warriors!
Lynn- Knee pixiedust:
Connie- Back pixiedust:
Dave- Achilles pixiedust:
Jennifer- Glad to hear you have recovered pixiedust:

Good Morning Team!

Thanks to all for the pixie dust!

Sue - it seems that everyone has trouble with the marathon leaving AK! I hear that comment constantly!

I got the OK from PT yesterday to start walking again, as long as I took it slowly - so yesterday after PT I walked to the mailbox and back - .89 miles at a pace of 20.45! Today I will do the mailbox and back again, then tomorrow do the "loop" (1.25 miles). The knee did hurt yesterday, but it was after PT, and I rode the stationary bike at the gym for 20 min before going to PT. I need to get back in shape for the RFTT!

Have a great day all!

I was exhausted today.

A very long day at work. Sent 8 kids to the principal's office.

Still managed 5.1 miles but slow as it took 45 minutes.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning Team!

Jennifer - pixiedust: for today being better than yesterday!

My pace to the mailbox was better yesterday - 19:45! If I keep that up, I may just get back to a Disney race pace (16) before RFTT!

Have a great day all!

Happy Friday everyone! It's a rest day for me today but I still may do a few core exercises after work. I have my 11 miler this weekend but will try to get it done tomorrow.

Jennifer - Yikes! I'll bet there's a story there. Were all the kids colluding to make trouble for you? Hopefully today goes better for you.

Lynn - Glad to hear your pace is improving!

Margie - Here's hoping you have some better weather for the weekend! How's DD?

Have a great weekend everyone! :wave2:

A cold morning here in Wyoming, Lynn said 48 but it felt cooler to me, busy week at work and I only got a couple runs in. Got a fast 5K (fast for me) this morn, off to farmer mkt and then pack for our trip next weekend. That is when we get to do some real altitude training.....

Might help one of my guys hang some drywall if our weather turns cruddy..

Have a great one and enjoy.

Hi all,

Friday was beter in part because I got to spend half the day away from my students at professional development.

Yesterday was off and today I did 8.25 miles in 70 minutes.
Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning Team!

Great time Jennifer!

I had a good walk yesterday, made it 1.25 miles with a pace of 18:47 - getting there.

Have a great day!

Good morning friends,

I have been having back issues. Darn it. But it is getting better now. I managed a 4 mile walk yesterday, but don't know if I will get out today. It is raining and muddy and I only have dirt roads to walk on. I will probably try to do TM later.

Jennifer - Good luck. You can beat these kids, just don't let up! Good job on the runs!

Scott and Lynn - Welcome back! Lynn you will see improvement by leaps and bounds now. I am betting on you for finishing RFTT!

Sue - I have also heard that the stretch after leaving AK is the hardest. Is it the course or the miles or just what it is? A wolf! Kewl! I saw a skunk...not so kewl.

Dave - Good luck with the achilles.

Terri - welcome back! teehee!

Kim - Quit worrying. You will be fine! I will, you will, we all will. Just follow the plan!

Vickie - How did that 11 miler go?

Welcome to the World Josie! I hope you had a great birth day! Congrats to Denise and Mark and mom and dad.

Margie! See you in 2 sleeps!

To the rest of the team: Come back, come back we miss you....if you can't come back, take us with!!!!

See you all - Connie

Connie and Lynn, Thanks!

I did 15 miles in 2 hours 15 minutes in the rain. I'm soaked and going to take a nice hot bath.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Morning, team!

Getting out for a walk today. Wish me luck - my feet are really bothering me! But we've got another half coming up on October 3rd (:scared1:)

Have a good day -

Terri

Hey team!

Well, I took a rest day yesterday. I was still having hip pain, so I guess it's just as well. But it's all better today.

I am paying bills and packing and straightening up the house and generally getting ready to travel tomorrow! See you tomorrow Margie!

Good Morning Team!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

We had beautiful weather & I got out for a nice 12 miler on Sat. It was race weekend for DH. I must send congrats out to him for doing an outstanding job. He is now an "Ironman" :thumbsup2

Connie, I know the course is relatively flat but there's an overpass on the Osceola Parkway where you go by the big McDonalds. Killer at mile 20 & then it's onto the out & back to WWoS.

Cross training tonight with either pilates or yoga.

Enjoy your Monday........Sue
