Hakuna Matata - Fall-o our training in September

Hi everyone! I was suppose to run a 10K race according to my training schedule but I was too cheap to sign up for one so I just ran around my neighbourhood. Like most weekends though, I got out late so I was running in a lot of sunshine and heat. Managed to finish in 1:05 but that was with a lot of walking and I think if I had gotten out earlier, I could have been a little faster.

Margie - The cheek is better! I had a tea today so it looks like hot foods are okay now. I'm going back to the dentist for a check up on Wednesday.

Sue - How was your 20 miler?

Dave/Jennifer - Can't wait to hear about your races!

Have a great day everyone!

Jack don't have too much fun ok well have a bunch o fun, OK

1/2 went wellI always wish I was faster but an happy with my 13 min pace.

Doing a DVC thing tonight for members we wil see, I ma sure it will be abuy more poits etc etc...

Hey gang, just stopping by for a quick hey!!!

Set up my training on Active.com so will be able to easier keep track of my training.....thanks Connie!!!!!

Got a 10K in yesterday, felt pretty good, about 4 mins slower then we where aiming for but I was dealing with a shin splint again so had to slow it down for a K or 2 and stopped to stretch it out 2 or 3 times so I think that easier ate up the 4min so not going to beat myself up about it.

How is everyone doing?

Heading home today Oh well just acouple of weekstill we are on the road again....

1/2 was fun, got a pinch hot towrds the end.

Good Morning Team!

Yes, we have to head home today - we had a great time and saw lots of friends!

Jack - have a great vacation!

Time to go pack! Have a great day all!

Hey Team!

It's a rest day. That means it's a dig in and get some housekeeping done day. I will go ahead and pay bills today, too!

Take care coming home Scott and Lynn!

Kim, your welcome! It's really easy to use Active. The best part is that it does all the adding for you!

Well, I'm out of here. I hope everyone is having a great time. Watch how many hot dogs and burgers you eat!

See ya - Connie

Hi everyone! Went to the gym this morning and worked out with a different trainer since my PT took the day off today. Did some ladder exercises - I think that's what they're called. Lots of hopping and jumping around on a "ladder" like grid on the ground. Nice change from the weight routine :)

I noticed I had a black toenail yesterday after I removed my pedicure. It doesn't hurt and I'm not sure where it came from but I guess I'll have to put the polish back on. Is there anyway to make it go away quickly or do I just have to wait for it to grow out?

Scott/Lynn - Safe travels! I saw your pic on Deb's blog :)

Connie - Enjoy your rest day!

Kim - I usually ask my PT to get rid of my shin splints. Not very pleasant though. Did you ice after your 10K?

Take care everyone!

Quick race report...
Hi everyone!
14.2 miles in 1 hr 52 minutes; 1st in age group (29 & under); 4th female overall

Slightly more detailed:
Started the race a little to fast and was pacing the first 10 miles at about 7:35 each. Was also the women's leader until mile 8 or 9. After that started hitting hills and the fast start hurt my ability to deal with them. Dropped from 2nd to 3rd somewhere around mile 11. At mile 13 was in 3rd overall, but could out kick at the finish.

Overall, I'm relatively happy. I knew I wasn't in my best shape, but I still managed decent. Now it's time to move on to the full and shoot for that BQ. I'm planning to meet with a coach soon because this is two races in a row where not being able to kick at the end has cost me.

Best,
Jennifer

Leaving this morning to go to my DD's in Indy. She is expecting her second baby (tomorrow is her due date) so I am going up to wait and to take care of my granddaughter while she is in the hospital. They have a TM so hopefully I'll be able to carve out some time to use it. Otherwise, my main form of exercise will be chasing after my granddaughter!

Have a great week everyone! I'll try to post when I have some news!

Good morning everyone! Back to work and school today - I thought there would be more people out and about but the trains were practically empty this morning. Go figure! Maybe some people were seeing their kids off to school.

Did my 5 miler this morning. I had to wake up at 5:45AM which was kind of pushing it anyway. Shouldn't the sun be out around that time? I think if I keep running in the morning through the fall and winter, I'll have to get a light of some kind.

Lots of runners and walkers out this morning. I usually see an older gentleman on my route but we go in opposite directions. The first time I saw him this morning, I said "Good morning!" ... the second time we passed, he said to me "Lookin' good!!". Made me smile all the way home :upsidedow

Jennifer - Congrats on your race! Fantastic time as always :)

Margie - That's a fun bike ride?! Plus you did a 6 miler on the same day! You are in great shape :worship:

Mary - Safe travels! Hope everything goes well with DD and your new granddaughter :)

Scott - Do you have any pictures of your new DL bling?

Have a great day everyone!

I can't believe I wrote up a whole report over the weekend and it's gone!!! I;m not sure if it's the server, my computer or what but I'll try again!

Princess Josie was born on Saturday night at 9:12 PM by c-section. Miranda worked hard for 2 days but it was just not meant to be. Josie came in at 7.8 lbs and 19 inches. A pretty princess for sure. She has already melted my heart and now let me introduce you to our newest Disney family member and hopefully we can get her into a walking program, at least Mom in a walking program and Josie in her stroller!

Show us the bling!! Way to go on the DL race. Sucks to be back to work, I go back tomorrow.

A beauty here in NH. So happy to be in the "normal" temps of low 70's for a high and 40's for the lows. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I am trying to get back to a regular schedule, picked up dogs from kennel this morning, so breakfast is a little late today, currently icing the knee then will have to get back to exercises 3 X a day (it was only once a day for the last few days).

Have a great day all!

Will try to get some pics up tonight

Hi TEAM!

Congratulations, Denise & Mark! Josie is Precious! :littleangel: PTL Mommy & Josie are doing good.

Vicky & Lynn– :thanks:Thank You but…I did the 6-miler on Sunday evening and the 28-mile bike ride on my Rest Day, Monday afternoon. I love to ride bike and the weather was just too nice not to do it. Too soon there will be no out door cycling here. :upsidedow

Lynn- how is your knee? :flower3:

The temperature in Michigan is great at 68 degrees- but the humidity is 90% and the dew point is 62% … Cloudy with sprinkles, it feels like you are breathing water-Nasty!

I did get in my easy 3.25-mile walk this morning. I have to report to Connie so it keeps me moving even when I don’t wan-ta ::yes::

Denise and Mark, Josie is gorgeous! Congrats! She almost shares a birthday with my cousin's baby girl who is being born tomorrow by c-section!

First post-race run today. 6.2 miles (10k) in 54 minutes. Not bad for 48 hours of recovery.
I'm meeting with a coach next Wednesday and I'll let you know how that goes.

Best,
Jennifer

Denise and Mark, congrats she is beautiful!!!!!!

I am so far behind in the posting again...I don't know how that happens. I am keeping up with my training and keeping track so I will have plenty to report at the end of the month:woohoo:

This is day 2 of no pop or sugar....should get ugly.....My name is Kim and I am a pepsi oholic.
