Good Afternoon, Team!
It has taken me awhile to get to chores caught up, Jon and I both took a brief vacation.
Had some great workouts at Margie's. She will tell you that Michigan and especially Celery Flats are flat. Don't believe it! It should be named Celery Hills! And on top of that, she's fast in them there hills! I have become a true flat lander over the years. I guess I will have to go back to Colorado and do training before I try to keep up with Margie on her "Flats"!
We went to the gym and we did Pilates at Margie's and we used her weight equipment in her house. We managed 20.4 miles for the week. it was some serious work and a lot of fun. We managed a trip to Lake Michigan which looks like an ocean, has the piers like an ocean, has fishermen on the docks, has huge ships floating around and even has sandy beaches, but it doesn't smell like an ocean and it doesn't have salt! Amazing!
Sara, Rodney and Hagen are delightful people. Hagen has officially nominated me as one of the family! A priviledge to be sure. Meema Connie, is happy to carry that distinction!
For this week, I got the bare minimum of training in. But I am on a roll!
Jennifer - the name of your future cat reminded me of a funny story from several years ago. We were camping on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. There were some students who had just come from the bottom and they were taking up the showers. I stood patiently in line and listened and watched as all the other girls were yelling at Hortensia to get them things. Keep in mind that Hortensia was a dark haired, dark eyed, olive complected young woman and the others calling for things were blondes. Not one of them said thank you to poor Hortensia who was running up and down the shower lines with more quarters (to get the water running again), more shampoo, extra towels, more body wash, extra conditioner, etc. Finally, I got a shower stall and I was still hearing these girls shouting at Hortensia to get them stuff (most of which was HER stuff they were "borrowing"). I finally got tired of the way they were treating her and I called out, "Hortensia, I am so glad you came with us, I don't know what we would have done without you!" All of sudden, there were thank yous and promises to pay Hortensia back. As I walked out of the shower, Hortensia smiled at me really big, but the blondes all didn't!
Enjoy the kitty!
FluPanda - Get well soon.
