Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Poor Sophie! Glad she was OK. I hate how little ones can just sick literally overnight with respiratory viruses. Nick was always like that. And it always happens on vacation. Glad she was OK! And good to know there is a hospital near the resort (just like at HHI ;)

Too bad you couldn't see the turtles all that well, but I'm glad you went for one last walk on the beach on your last night. Sounds wonderful.

Dust in a jar? What the heck is in there? I want to make one of those. It looks very cool!

As far as the rude people - I would hate that too and its a shame that CM had to put up with that crap. :sad2:

I do love shopping with you. You find such neat stuff.

What a horrid mad and his sons or whoever they were. Why do people have to act like that? It is just so sad?

What fun pixie dust Anita made with the girls. And Mr. Mark is a sweetie!

I'm glad your turtle experience was not a total "nothing to see."

I'm glad it was something easily fixed for Sophie.

The girls had much fun that evening with some honorary 'grands'. :thumbsup2

Yeah, it was cool enough just seeing that big turtle hang out at the water's edge for a few minutes. Maybe one day I will get to see more, but I was thrilled at that.

Poor, Poor Sophie. So hard when a little one seems like they are struggling for air.

What a nice full day you had. Glad you got to see some turtles.

What a fun craft idea for the girls.

Packing up is so sad, except when you're not done!!!!!

Bring on Kidani!!!

Had she eaten ordinary food, I might not have been as quick to say take her to the doctor, but she had about twelve different things at dinner. I was thinking it could have been a spice in the BBQ, maybe.

Then again, it's my little baby, so I would probably have told them to go to the doctor anyway. ;)

Packing up to go to Kidani was pretty fun, actually! :cool1:

Sorry your walk around was messed up with rude people. That would make me mad too.

The pixie dust craft looks so neat. Marc and Anita were great with the girls.

Next time you go you'll see a turtle I just know it.

I'm glad to hear Sophie was okay. Poor dear having to spend the night at the hospital. Rough on the adults too.

They are awesome with the girls. I hope there are trips in the future, like maybe next summer, when Harper gets to hang out with the girls, too.

Jill sent pictures from the hospital. Sophie and her smile were a hit in the emergency room. :cutie:

Man, I can't stand people that feel the need to just be rude in general. You are correct, generally people like that don't have a conscience. Sadly, great places are not always accompanied by class, you are right.

The sweet girls eating ice cream were exactly what you would need to wipe that experience away.

Mmmm, nightly root beer floats?

We didn't get the opportunity to look for turtles when we were there. I'm sorry you didn't get a good glimpse of any.

I'm glad that Sophie didn't have an allergic reaction to anything and that it was handled quickly.

Indeed, nightly root beer floats. Doesn't everyone have those?

My girls and ice cream - two things that make me very, very happy. :)

So glad to know that you did have a little bit of turtle luck on your last night. It wasn't a total wash. Even just those glimpses of turtles and their tracks would have seemed pretty magical to me.

I love, love, love Anita's pixie dust jars! My mind is churning with ideas for fun ways to use them. Looks like Mr. Marc's "craft" was just as fun for the girls.

OK, now for that root beer float you made me want. :drinking1 (Hmm ... Smiley seems to prefer a Guinness.)

I tried to take pictures that night, but they just came out black. I was bummed about not at least being able to get those that night.

So you want a beer float??? Sounds yuck to me, but to each his own.

I know you're not one for photos, MeMom, but I think it'd be TOTALLY worth having many photos of yourself if you were a human that looked a Crocodile topiary. And I'd totally buy that pin set though I already have a Goofy and Mickey Kidani pin. Need to get some more pins from resorts I've visited/stayed in.

Ugh. Cannot stand people who act like that. Get a life people and grow up! And I'm so glad you sniped a photo of them. I have plans. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Oh, that's so cool with the pixie dust in the bottle! What a cool idea, Anita! And I'm really intrigued by the late night Root Beer floats. Probably should start doing that myself. ;)

Glad to hear you got to see a little bit of the turtles! Not all was lost. And I'm sure taking photos might have ruined those little moments when you saw them, don't you think?

Awww, poor Sophie. Good to know, it wasn't anything too bad. That Sophie, she's a trooper. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read about your day at Sea World! :mickeyjum

Can you imagine you and your dad participating in such rudeness? I just cannot fathom a father, if that is what he was, doing that with his own kid.

I tried to get pictures, but the beach was too dark.

I am glad I got that walk, too. I am thankful that the others walked slowly for me. I remember it fondly - and with pain. It hurt like the dickens every step of the way!

There was like netting stuff and opened glow sticks. That was it. They were very cool!

Because we were somewhere different, I felt a little less comfortable about waiting things out with Sophie. It was peace of mind for all of us for her to be seen. ::yes::

This was our last morning to see this beautiful scene.

Sophie, get your sisters moving!

Stitch was the only one cooperating.

We packed the car, said goodbye to the ocean, and made our way back toward Orlando.

Today's activity would be Sea World. The girls had never been. Not sure about John. Jill and I had last been when she was about maybe 6.

Bella wanted nothing to do with Shamu.

Pulling the hair back for a hot, hot day.

Note Bella was 'reading' the map to figure out our game plan. ;)

These guys were first on the list.

Mingos for everyone!

Wanna pet a ray?

Dolphins.

Mr. Squirrel trying to thieve things out of strollers.

Dolphin show.

It was so hot!

I have not read the 'dirty secrets' of the sea animals' conditions. I'd like to think they are well-cared for and happy. I hope that is the case.

Performers.

OH goodness, I remember that hospital episode. Gosh it seems like so long ago but it really wasn't. So glad it turned out ok and that she did get checked out. I am glad at least you got to see (sort of) a turtle, even if it wasn't the full nesting experience.

Fun zoo outing!!!

Of course I finally got caught up on Vero and you are off to Sea World :rotfl: I went to Marine World California as a child (which isn't there anymore) but have never been to the Orlando one, neither have the boys. Lovely pictures!

I haven't read the "dirty secrets" either...have heard a little bit about it on the podcast and think I'll keep on not reading it.

What a cool - I mean hot day at SeaWorld.

I really liked that mingo shirt.

I am sure the girls really enjoyed themselves, and probably the big kids too. ;)

Beautiful last view of the ocean. :)

Why am I not surprised that the youngest is up and the others still snoozing? :rotfl2:

We've not been to Sea World since Andy and Mark were about 8 and 6 is my guess...we really need to go back.

Beautiful flamingos.

Why is Bella holding her ears during the dolphin show?

Everyone looks hot during that show. That sun can be brutal.

I just think something that huge has to be heavily regulated. There are rumors about Disney's Animal Kingdom, too, but then I have read that they get stellar reports from the National Zoological Association, or whatever the official name is, and that animals are very lucky to be in Animal Kingdom.

We were certainly very happy to know Sophie's sickies could be managed with meds. :thumbsup2

We did enjoy the day. It was different for us to have to use a map. It was fun to see different animals and exhibits than we see in WDW. The food situation was awesome! Free food and drink all day - everything you wanted any time you wanted it. They have Disney beat big time in that department. But, in cast members and magic, they are lacking, or they were on that day.

Wasn't that a beautiful scene to gaze upon each morning?!?!?

Jill's girls have had to get up early all their lives, pretty much, since she works. Bella is good with that, as is Sophie. Brooklynn is the one that could sleep in, if she had the chance.

The few pictures I have of Jill and Trent at Sea World - they are drinking out of big SW mugs and their faces are red with heat.

I guess there must have been some loud music at the moment. I'm surprised Brook doesn't have hers covered, too, because she's not so fond of loud noises, either.

As always, I LOVE your shopping pictures! And shame on those "men" for being so rude to the castmember. Karma is a you-know-what.

I'm glad you got to walk down to the beach!

Sea World looks so nice! One of these trips we'll have to wander over there. I do love those dolphin shows - so fun. Your pictures are awesome! :cool1:

Glad you got to take that walk & see some turtles.:thumbsup2

Poor little Sophie. The looked bright eyed the next morning though.:)

Wow cool are Marc & Anita. What a blessing through these boards that such friends have emerged. I just get such a great feeling thinking about it.

Oh we went to Seaworld once & loved it. We need to get back there soon!!

It did look HOT. I do not do good with hot. My NH blood finds it sickening when it gets so hot. I do not handle it well.

LOVE Dolphins!!

Currently in the train on my way home from Toronto. My brief encounter with Hollywood is now over for another year.:sad1: But I saw 12 great films and got to see some stars so it was a very fun and successful trip!

Speaking of films, if you want the dirty sea world secrets, watch the documentary Blackfish. But be warned, it will 100% break your heart. I cried - a lot.

Anita, that pixie dust in a jar craft looks amazing! Where did you find that?

So did you ride the Manta?

We did not ride anything. The girls rode a little carousel, but that's it. We went for animal encounters and shows. Maybe we'll go back again when they are older and try some more thrilling things, but we were there for different things that day.

It's not right to wish for someone to be treated ugly, but if that guy could be harassed like he did that poor CM, maybe his conscience would be touched for the future.

The dolphin show was good, but there was too much acrobatic activity. They could have cut several minutes of that out.

You got some pretty pictures of the dolphin show. I love the girls matching outfits.

It's not so easy to find things in matching sets from Brooklynn's size down to Sophie's. I think the days of triple matches are about over. Brooklynn and Bella can match, and Bella and Sophie can match, but the span between Brook and Sophie is harder to do.

Glad you got to take that walk & see some turtles.:thumbsup2

Her hospital trip had not been the night before that picture. It was the night of the Pirate dinner. I had just forgotten to write about it, so I threw it in there at the last minute.

I do not do well with cold. I suffer all winter. I go out to the car in the morning and scrape ice, and it just starts my day off badly. :cold:

Many good friendships sure have formed from this place. After a while, the lines blur between people being Disney/DIS/'imaginary'/internet friends and real life friends. :)

I have not seen Blackfish, but I know what it is about. How accurate do you think it is? Was it done by people who had actually worked there? I can't imagine people being cruel to animals they set out to work with. I don't know. I just think there have got to be organizations regulating some things at places as big as Sea World. I will have to read more.

Anita, where did you find your crafts? Pinterest?

Hi (waves) I started reading one of your reports before but I fell behind and lost my place and had a hard time ever finding it again due to the popularity n soooooo many comments, but I'm so glad I found this and can't wait to see what's next for you all.thanks for allowing me to join the party:hyper:

YAY SeaWorld I can't wait to go! Looks so fun! I have only ever been to the San Diego one but I love it. I love marine life!

Blackfish isn't so much about mistreatment (and no it's not made by Seaworld), its more about how whales do not do well when they are in captivity. How their behaviors change and that kind of thing (think Free Willy.) You could find similar docs about other animals (i.e. Project Nim, etc.). I suppose it doesn't offer much in the way of "dirty secrets" of their treatment while in captivity, just more why they shouldn't be captive at all.

That being said, I have been to Seaworld a few times and to Marineland (a smaller scale version of Seaworld in Niagara Falls) repeatedly and have always found it fun and notice that they wanted to educate the public on the dangers they face in the wild so who knows...but it's a powerful documentary and worth a watch if you get the chance.

My daughters favorite commercial- "everyone loooves Marineland" we went to the falls 3 years ago and she still sings the TV jingle!

What great fun at Sea World, but you can see how hot everyone was too. I've never been to the one in Orlando but we did got to the one in San Antonio in 1996. I really want to go back and take Danielle since she has never been.

I would be more interested in the shows than the rides too. I know Brooklynn enjoyed seeing so many new animals. How many stuffed animals did she come home with?

I am so sorry that I haven’t been on! I have been very busy but I finally have the chance to come on.

I love the Pirate character theme! That looks like such a fun meal!

I want those mickey plates!

I could easily spend 100 dollars in the zoo store.

I went to Sea-World this past summer and it was fun ( but Disney is better)
