Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Another great update. The girls are just too sweet, and I loved seeing their concentration as they painted their ceramics.

Me, too. I like watching kids as they are drawing or working on crafts. The concentration they show is a part of their growth as they move from scribbling to more recognizable figures to adding details.

As much as I enjoyed watching the girls do their art work, I have to tell you that an added memory for me was the little girl that kept smiling encouragement to Bella :cutie:.......and bewilderment to me. She was a sweetheart.

As some of you already know, Brooklynn is having some minor foot surgery tomorrow. We have faith that it will be quick and simple, and she'll be on her way to a complete and easy recovery. If you are so inclined, we would appreciate your good thoughts and prayers for all to go perfectly, for her to have a pain-free time of it, and for her to adjust quickly to having to be in the casts. We'll hope the six weeks will seem to fly by for everyone. It is out-patient surgery, and the doctor seems to think she will be able to go on with a fairly normal routine. It will most likely be more of a hassle than anything. Brooklynn will have to deal with the unique footwear ;) and Jill will have to adjust and help with the bathing situation to accommodate said footwear. Anyway, thoughts and prayers will be appreciated tomorrow. I will update you during the day as Jill updates me.

You young whippersnappers just can't be controlled, can you??? ;)

I am glad we got to visit Squid Lips, and I would be up for another visit someday, but it wasn't any big thing. We just liked the name, so we wanted to give it a try.

The kids became immediate friends and played as if they did so on a regular basis.

I think I only took about 2-3 pictures at dinner.

Luckily, Jill has some friends who have a shower stool and a wheelchair, should she need them, so that is nice.

She would love getting mail, of course! Yes, prayers for perfection in everything that goes on today are appreciated. :)

Cuteness overload in that update!! :goodvibes. That picture of Bella with the frosting face is so adorable! And Sophie has the sweetest little smile! I love Brooklynn being so focused on her art! I was always like that too! It's too bad the activity was so disorganized, but at least they had fun in the end! Looks like lots of fun was had by all the dis-town kids (and kids at heart ;) ).

I agree. There was definitely some cuteness overload going in your pictures! Those children are all adorable. I am sure Anita and Mark enjoyed every minute (well, almost every minute).

You have me curious about Squid Lips. I think Cynthia ate there and enjoyed it. I've heard a lot about it but we never got there when we visited Vero.

I am keeping sweet Brooklynn in my thoughts for a speedy recovery to her surgery today. Pixie Dust Away!!

Keeping Brooklynn in my thoughts and prayers. Praying for everyone else too. Jill, John, the girls, doctors, nurses and anyone else involved.
Memom a special prayer for you while you are further away than you would like to be at this time.

We are back from Pop and back to the real world all too soon. I got most of my pictures loaded last night so I will probably put up a mini trip report sometime today. I'll keep you posted. It's also time to update my ticker for our September trip.

I am thinking of Brooklyn and Jill today!

Sending good thoughts to Brooklyn and all her family today!

Jill in CO

So many cute kids in that last update :goodvibes

Looks like everyone got to make the most of being able to hang out at the beach, Disney style, without the hustle and bustle of the parks :thumbsup2

Can I hijack your report for a moment? I'm wondering if anyone's got any tips on places to visit/stay in Carolina? :wave2:
My mom and dad are thinking of joining us for our second week in WDW next October (2014), and spending a week somewhere else first. Someone had mentioned Charleston, Middleton, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island but our knowledge of these places is limited to travel brochures and the internet! Hoping there are a few of you here who might have some recommendations of your own?

Hi ClaireW new to posting here so hope I'm doing it correctly. Grew up in S Carolina and know the coast well. I would avoid Myrtle Beach it is not what it used to be!! Love both Charleston and Hilton Head. In Charleston you will find lovely historical homes and tours, wonderful restaurants. If you stay in town parking is at a minimum so always a charge and lots of walking. The beaches are out from town so you either drive into town from the beach or out to the islands from town. You could choose a resort like Kiawah island or Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms, or go completely laid back with only beach and a few restaurants by renting house on Edistio Island. Depending on where you stay your drive to DT Charleston 20-60min. I think everyone should experience Charleston! It's a wonderful city!
Hilton Head is quiet, lots of different resorts and beautiful beaches. Lots of wonderful restaurants! I vacation here at Palmetto Dunes or Island Club. Many of the resorts are not near the beach but focused around golf or tennis. If being close to the beach is what you would like be sure to check how far it is or if there is a shuttle. If you want city and historic you can day trip Charleston (2hrs) or to Savannah,GA. (1hr)
Ive spent lots of time in each and love both, each has its own unique offerings, can't go wrong with either. Hope this helps. And I know they will enjoy SC

Just dropped my kids off at P.E. and called Jill for a report. She messaged that they were being called to talk to the doctor now. I will let you know here, and she will probably have more on FB as the day goes on. Thanks to all of you guys for your good thoughts. :goodvibes

Praying for sweet Brooklyn! I've been thinking about her today & hope she has an easy recovery!
