Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Love the shopping...and yes, I can almost smell Basin and can't wait to be there in three weeks.

I love all the Precious Moments. I collect them...and, actually, have over 300 of them. They are all boxed up except for my Disney ones which I am keeping. All the "baby" related ones will go to Alisha and all of the others I am waiting for my goddaughter to pick up (I willed them to her and as we plan to move in three years, I am slowly getting rid of stuff).

I'm not much for cars either...except to get me where I need to be. But my hubby loves them and we go to a place by us called Long Grove every year to see all the old cars.

Sophie is adorable all snuggled with her blanket.

Well, cars are not really my thing either, but I would be happy to see some if I were in Downtown Disney. Congratulations on your job, and good luck with the beginning of school. I hope you get a class full of sweet, well behaved children!

I hope you first day back was smooth transition. I love your reports and can wait as you slowly turn them out. Good luck with your new part time job. You can do like Dory and tell your self "just keep swimming" until that next Disney trip.

Okay, you should have never told me to close my eyes when the shopping pictures were coming up.........I fell asleep and almost missed the CARS!!! :rotfl2: :cool1:

Love those character waffles at the food court, and the omelet looked really good!

Happy to hear about the part time job! Any opportunity to feed the Disney addiction is :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

In my own way I am a little relieved it might slow down your TR a little. Maybe now I can do a better job of keeping up! :rolleyes2

MeMom, I am another of those long-time lurkers who really enjoy reading you and your daughter's trip reports. It is so true what others have said, I feel like I know you through reading them. I love when you talk about Pop Century, or shopping, or seeing a show, and I can picture exactly where you are. Keep entertaining us when you have the time, and good luck on another school year. Take care.

Thanks for chiming in! We always enjoy meeting new Disney friends. You may think you know us, but if you ever meet us in person and hear these country accents, that will open a whole new chapter to what you think about us.

Today has been busy, busy, busy. I am going to leave the building in about an hour, but I needed a break, so I made it a DIS break.

Good luck for the first day back at school! Seems ridiculously early to me considering we have over a month to go!

Anything for extra disney $$ right? Hope it goes well!

I'm always looking forward to your pictures, but I'll try not to hold my breath.

I posted a while back and wanted to let you know I am still here reading, just not really posting cause I have a lot going on. The girls are all so cute though. Everything that you do with them reminds me of things that I used to do with my grandma when I was a kid. I know they will cherish those memories forever. You are starting early and my college is starting the latest it has ever started I don't go back until August 26. Hope you have a good school year and the kids don't give you to many problems.

The trade-off is that we'll get two weeks three times during the year, and we'll get out in late May at the end of the year. I really can't complain about our work schedule.

Summer went by SO FAST!! I can't believe it'll be August this week. Just wild.

I don't know if I've said, but I sold my condo & I'll be moving in the next few weeks so in my free time, I've been packing boxes & doing Goodwill runs. :) I'll live with my parents for a few months while I decide what place I want.

I'm glad you got to see the girls this weekend -- that's nice you're close enough to meet halfway.

Maybe we'll see you on an episode of House Hunters!!! :cool1:

Yes, we meet halfway sometimes when it's going to be longer than two weeks before we cross paths. Three weeks is too long not see those girls!

I haven't used Garden Grocer but here's what I know from CM experience. When Garden Grocer delivers to the resort and the guest isn't in the room, CM will keep cold groceries in a fridge until delivered to the guest.

No chocolate chip pancakes, how sad.

I like the one with the all pink handles.

The snow white shirt is cute.

So sweet of the nameless DISfriend.

I don't know much about cars either but some of those look nice.

I have watched a movie there. It's my favorite AMC theatre. But that was before there was Dine-in theatre options.

I want to do Disney bowling too.

Good luck with the new school year at the PT job.

Maybe we'll have a bowling meet one of these days. You won't laugh at me, will you? Maybe if I use bumper pads, I can hit triple digits. :upsidedow

Drew would know all about the engines and tires and everything. He's got a great memory when it comes to that kind of thing. School work - he didn't have such a wonderful memory.

Maybe you can send us some Basin and other DTD pictures when you go. :goodvibes

I hope I do, too! I had a really good group last year. I would love to have the same this year, but that would be asking a lot. I will find out very soon! :crazy2:

Lots of meetings and paperwork today. Hopefully a bit less tomorrow and more time to work in our rooms. I will have to take a Disney reminder with me to my new job. When my leg feels like it is going to fall off, I will look at it to help me get through until I collect that Disney money! :hyper:

Disney waffles are so good, as is the fruit. Sadly for Bella, there was no breakfast macaroni on the menu. :cutie:

Every dollar I make on the new job is going straight to my Disney needs. ::yes::

It was now time for the turtleful part of our journey. We made our way to Disney's Vero Beach Resort.

Getting close.

And here we are!

Making sure we are legal to be here.

Jill ran in to check us in, and then we parked the car. We first walked to the pool and recreation area.

Creative restroom sign.

Inside.

Beachside by the main lobby. So pretty!

Inside the lobby.

Sitting area.

Our timing was not right to do this.

Did you notice the spelling error?

We weren't sure of our food options, so Jill was checking around.

The only thing we could get at that time was from Bleachers, the pool food stand, so I stayed inside with the girls while she and John went to get food.

We sat out on the porch and ate, as we were waiting for our cottage to be ready.

After we ate, we still had time to kill, so just walked around the main area and gift shop.

Brooklynn had gift cards she was wanting to spend.

At least they have the necessities of life.

I should have gotten this for my classroom.

Those three books show all the movies that can be rented. You can have two at a time.

Anita got this shirt before she left. It was a kid's shirt.

This was one of the adult shirts.

Brooklynn ended up with one of these after her turtle walk.

Then we walked outside to see the ocean.

That's it for tonight. It won't be long before we get into our awesome cottage. You are going to love it! Just looking through the pictures this weekend made me want to be there again, and I sent Anita another 'Thank you!' message just remembering it and our time there.

Ahhhhh - Vero Beach! It was actually my first DVC stay and I had the most fabulous view of the ocean.

I think the beach cottages look amazing and you were so lucky to be able to stay there. Wowsa! I really can't wait to see what they look like on the inside. I could only covet them from the outside. :rotfl:

Yay! We're at Vero! We visited there in July 2010 just for lunch when we stayed in Cocoa Beach. We didn't know then that we'd be owners there just a few months later!! It was our first DVC contract, and we have yet to stay there. Maybe soon....

Okay, after just that introduction of pictures, you have me seriously considering renting points at Vero Beach after Disney in the next couple of years. All I can say is WOW!

I am loving the last few moments of WDW and DTD as you hop in the car and head to Vero.

I did find the spelling error on the Breakfast sign but I did have to look close since my old eyes find the print so small. Either that or I need a bigger computer screen. :lmao:

Happy Back to School Eve and I hope your year is filled with laughs, giggles and smiles from everyone.

Enjoy that part time job but don't overdo it. I hope it meets your needs and you can put some money in the Disney fund without burning the candle at both ends.

Speling eror? Their coulldn't possiblly be any speling erors on Dizney propurty. Do you think the singmakers would spell so weaklly??? No ma'am......no speling erors around hear.......... :rolleyes1

Lots of great pictures of Vero Beach. Haven't been there yet, but it looks like a relaxing resort. Now I just need to figure out what it's like to actually relax on a trip instead of rushing to make rope drop, a parade or a show. :rotfl2:

I really liked the hatching turtle magnets(?) :thumbsup2

That is such a beautiful place! We go down to that area in March for a month, will have to drive to Vero & check it out.

Wow, school seems to start earlier every year. The first of August is too soon.

Vero beach looks lovely so far! I'm excited to see more of it! My cousin and I have been considering a little family trip there so seeing it through your eyes will be awesome!

Good luck with back to school! Do we get to see pictures of this year's room?

Anita got me a couple of Wilderness Explorer booklets, but she said the cast member was kind of stingy about it and didn't really want to give them to a grown-up. Is that what you told me, Miss Anita Wigd?

When we get groceries, the haul is usually milk, lunch meat, cheese, bread, salad, fruit, breakfast items, and snack things.

When you get inside 30 days, time flies!!!

Finally catching up!
Yes, that's what I told you.
Lana. Be ready to take pictures of Lexi taking the oath when she joins up in the Club. I'm sure they will let her in. They were not nice at all about me joining. The things I do for MeMom.....:rolleyes1
I'm wondering now if there are any youtube videos of folks joining up as well.... Hmmmmmm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHi7P_tDTuU

I was exactly five pages behind!
It sure seems like an eternity....
I can't believe you spent the day in inservices already. I hope you weren't bored to tears or snores.
I can't begin to count the hours I have spent in this new classroom trying to get it to feel right.
It's beginning to take shape but thankfully we don't report for another 8 days. I have plenty to do in the meantime.

Caren, I am so happy that we have finally arrived at Vero. I am missing that place even more than WDW. Rest and relaxation sounds awfully good at the moment...

Oh and those Vero shopping pics, I did get the child's shirt for myself, and Marc and i both both bought the adult shirts. They are kind of a novelty since you don't see them everywhere!
The pins were a whole different story!

Lana, we also have used Garden Grocer many times and have been very happy with their service. One time they made a mistake and missed something on our order, we called them and they came out immediately with the missed item. However, I do prefer to rent a car and do my own grocery shopping.

Of course I won't laugh. I'm not that great at bowling either.

I love that restroom sign!! LOL

I did find the spelling error.

Happy Birthday Memom!!

Vero Beach looks so pretty! I love the theming around the pool, very cool. And the merchandise there is pretty good for an off-property Disney resort. I love the shirts and those tubs of ice cream are making me hungry, not to mention the grub you grabbed on the pool deck. :goodvibes

Can't wait to see the photos of your cottage, I can imagine it must be so pretty! :mickeyjum

Thank you Ms Anita & Dancin_Princess for your comments on Garden Grocer.
It's great to have that service available if I ever decide to use it. :thumbsup2

Ahhhh....the first glimpse of Vero Beach is beautiful!
I love the beach! I would go there in a heartbeat.
I suspect this will not be the last trip you make there.
Cool decor in the store with all the oranges! When I think of Florida, that is the first symbol I think of. :)

Good Luck with your new school year! I hope this bunch of students will be kind to you! :goodvibes

I commend you for taking on an extra job to help fund your Disney trips...wish you well with it and I hope your leg doesn't bother you too much.
