Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

Just wanted to let you know I'm following along...just silently.

I had no doubt you would rock you evaluation and am SO glad the December trip is still on :cool1: Hoping that means Ohana for NYE is still a go too :cake: (OK, so I know there's no cake but they don't have a stuff my face smilie)

I don’t get why they bump the prices up for food. I can see the rooms but why the food?
LOL. The Trent story is funny especially the buying the fish buckets.
Congrats on the evaluation.
I loved the Christmas pics.
I agree about Zawadi.
LOL. Love the return to blender shirt.
Thanks for the shopping pics.

Just got caught up again at last - my 3 princess:princess:princess: are keeping me busy and Dis time has been limited!
We're nearly ready to start planning/booking our next trip (Oct 2014) and hoping to use some DVC points at AKL so you're at just the right point in your TR to help me pick up some good ideas. Although we've visited the resort, this would be our first time staying there.

You know, I didn't mind the crowds last Christmas. Now mind you, we had just been there for Thanksgiving, so our circumstances are different. I had nothing that I absolutely had to
do and in the end, ended up doing just about everything! If it was my first trip or my only trip in a bunch of years, it would be a different story.

One of the reasons I enjoy going at T'giving, is the fact that it is all decorated for Christmas. Memom, please breathe in the gingerbread for me at the Grand Floridian! Thank you!!

I do not recommend going at Christmas to those who are going for a once in a lifetime or a once every 5-10 years trip. I tell them when the better times are so that they can enjoy it to its fullest. For most families who 'live in Distown', even a crowded WDW Christmas will be amazing, because we know where to go and not go during the worst hours.

We had one Thanksgiving trip, and we very much enjoyed it. Normally, we don't have a week out for Thanksgiving, but that year we did, so we took advantage of it. Now we are back to the regular three days off, so we haven't done it again. I want to again someday, though, if it works out.

You had more faith than I did about rockin' the evaluation.

As far as I know, 'Ohana is still a go. :thumbsup2 And.....they don't need cake. They have bread pudding that can't be beat! :woohoo:

Kinda hurts when I can feed the whole family breakfast at Cracker Barrel for the price of just me to eat at 1900 Park Fare. ::yes:: But, I am hearing that there are going to be a lot of unexpected characters present the night we are supposed to be there, so I will probably suck it up and go.

If I ever get around to doing a report on the March trip, when the girls weren't with me, there will be many, many, many shopping pictures!

I can empathize. I raised three kids alone, and we were on the go, go, go all the time! Jill is raising three girls, too, and it is exhausting some days. It's quite a blessing, but lots of work, too.

I will take some AKL pictures in December, especially for you to look forward to while you wait. :) Are you planning for Jambo or Kidani?

Rumor has it that Osborne Lights may be moving to Epcot after this year, so if this is the last year for them to be in Hollywood, I'm glad we're getting to see them and get last pictures.
We ARE????? :woohoo: Thanks for the invite!!! ;)

We ARE????? :woohoo: Thanks for the invite!!! ;)

Well, are you planning to be there? My 'we' was my family, but extended DIS family can be in the 'we', if you/they are there. Not sure what night we will see them, since Jill is in charge of the schedule, but when she has it finalized, we'll let you know. :santa:

****************************************************

It was time for us to leave our mini-trip to the outskirts of Animal Kingdom. Jill was taking her family back to the room for rest, and I was going to do some resort hopping.

First, the girls wanted to ride something they had never had the chance to ride.

They have, in the past few trips, become fascinated with.....

the trams.

They were so cute. I waited with them to get a picture as they took off, and then I headed for the bus stop.

So many choices.

My choice.

I always get pictures of the latest and greatest ad posters.

The time.

Other passengers.

Or not.

One of those wonderful purple, red, and turquoise road signs that mean you are in your happy place.

We had intended to go here, but were rained out. Maybe in December or next summer?

Getting close.

One reason to love visiting the Polynesian Resort.

Another rumor - that this is going to be torn down.

I think it is beautiful, but it is very large and space-consuming. If they tear it down, I hope they will have a smaller, just as beautiful water feature, because I don't think this lobby would seem right without a water feature.

I was here to browse and take pictures, as I don't think a trip to WDW is complete without a visit to this resort.

There is plenty of themed merchandise here.

A popular favorite.

DIS friend Doreen sent me a couple of bars of these recently. :goodvibes

Time for a break. Next update: more Poly.

Oh, I love the Poly!! I love resort-hopping with you Memom!

I like to go hang out there whether we are eating there or not. We pool hopped there last year and had a blast! I might be one of the few who are looking forward to DVC coming there. I just hope I have enough points for a night or two some year!

That picture of Bella on the bench with the Rainforest frog was TOO CUTE!!

My favorite Poly. I'm a bit sad but more excited for the changes coming. I can't wait to see your Contemporary pictures. We are thinking about a stay there next year. Congrats on your evaluation :cheer2::cheer2:

Let's see, we are leaving on the 3rd. The un-magical depress will pick us up about 12:30 from Kidani. We have decided to be without a car for our last day. Oh I know, the horror of it! :scared: We will have a town car bring us back from the cruise so we can stop off and pick up anything that we think we need for just one night, which will more than likely be nothing.

Love the t shirt pics. Now that I am losing weight I think I want one from every resort. LOL
Loved the photos.

I can't imagine a trip to Disney World without visiting the Polynesian. It wouldn't feel complete.

Bella calls that frog Cafe. We see him occasionally at the Rainforest Cafe here. The first time she saw him, since we had been saying we were going to RFC, she remembered the Cafe part and said, "There's Cafe!"

Life is better post-evaluation. :thumbsup2

I didn't go to the Contemporary on that trp, but I'll be visiting for Christmas pictures next month. Anything in particular you want pictures of?

I think you should treat yourself to some shirts. ::yes::

Not much DIS time lately, friends. Not much down time period. Hope everyone is doing well. We are keeping many in our thoughts and prayers as they go through health issues. We welcome new babies to Distown to bring so much love and happiness to so many. Some have been in the process of moving houses or changing jobs. We think of you often and enjoy 'seeing' you here when you can and we can be here. Have a great day, everyone!

I want Brandi to see as many resorts as we can get her to. I want to see every resort's Christmas tree. That is my goal. I will be probably be doing some early morning and late night solo jaunts to accomplish that. I'll let you know as the plans unfold, if you want to hit some of those with me.

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 I'd love to!

Oh I like that Poly mug! Haven't seen that one yet...it may have to come home with me.

:thumbsup2

Caren, I am behind yet again.

I have to agree with you. Zawadi is THE best gift shop in all of the Disney resorts and parks...I just love it there.

I love your holiday decoration photos.

I'm not sure I could be THAT close to a park and not go in. You have more willpower than me.

The Poly!!! I love that place (just not the price tag). I'm not sure how I feel about them making that DVC and taking away the waterfall. I hope, like you, that they put a smaller one in the lobby; otherwise, it won't be the same.

The closest I've been to the Poly is when I'm on a bus and we are dropping off and picking up people...

Oh Memom. Christmas Contemporary pictures would be awesome! It looks like our Oct trip will be moving to week after Thanksgiving now:thumbsup2

I would love to see the areas besides Chef Mickeys... like the other restaurants and pool/hot tub area. And of course thier tree:love:

I hope being so busy means you are adding money to your Disney pot. :thumbsup2

Yes, I am happy to say that I am! :cool1:

Absolutely! I'd love to!

Okay, then, if there is a night when the others are heading back to the room for sleep and my legs have it in me to do some hopping, I will text you. Don't feel obligated, but if you are in a hopping mood, too, at that time, we will hook up. :thumbsup2

Oh I like that Poly mug! Haven't seen that one yet...it may have to come home with me.

Poly had plenty of resort merchandise. Pop used to have cups, mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, stationery, etc., but not any more.

I would think they would keep some kind of water feature, as that is such a huge part of that decor. Ill be disappointed if they don't, I think.

I have stayed on WDW property without going into parks for several days. There is a lot to do outside the parks. I have ridden the rides enough that I can take them or leave them now. Plus, I did still have my AP. I went into MK the night before we left just to pick up some Vero pins and went right back out, and I went into the back gate of Epcot to get pictures of the bakery in France - and again, right back out. So, technically, I did enter two parks for a few minutes. ;)

I am looking forward to getting Jingle Jungle Cruise pictures on this trip and seeing the AoA Christmas decorations.

The closest I've been to the Poly is when I'm on a bus and we are dropping off and picking up people...

:faint: You need to make a visit! :)

I have a lot to get caught up on but I just wanted to drop in and say hi. :wave2:

Hello back to you!
Things are going slowly here, so you have plenty of time to catch up. I am going to put up more pictures in a little while.

Okay, I shall take care of that for you. We like to have the girls take pictures in the big Mickey ears sculpture out back, so maybe we will get over there as a group. If not, it will be on my solo hopping list. :)
