Do both of these resorts offer hairdryers in your room? Have you ever had a problem requesting one, i.e., they ran out?
Is it good quality? I am accustomed to a powerful hairdryer, but I don't want to bring mine on vacation due to packing space.

Thanks for responding to such a silly thread!;)

When staying at PO FQ and PO Riverside have used the hairdryers at each of the resorts. These are not powerful, though. I think, maybe 1200 watts. They are the typical hotel hairdryer and nothing spectacular. If you are used to a powerful one that drys quickly I don't think you would probably be happy.

I've never had a hard time getting one and we have visited in June, July, April, November and December. When you get to the resort and get to your room, simply pick up the phone, dial housekeeping and they will bring it right to your room. You can also request an iron and ironing board as well as coffee maker when you do that. Never had troubles getting any of them.

Never a silly question on the DIS forums.

When were at the CBR last month. They have a hair dryer installed on the wall now. I didn't use it , so I don't know how powerful it was.

They are OK but I prefer to bring my own. I like volume in my hair and the ones at the resorts just don't blow enough air.

I hardly ever wash my hair at WDW, but if I had to, the dryers are fine for me.;)

For years I lugged my hairdryer due to the wimpy powerless hairdryers in hotel rooms, until last year when my hairdryer decided to burn up (oh the horror!) during vacation and I was forced to use the one at CBR. It was a big let down compared to the power of mine (may it rest in peace) however, my DH pointed something out that is so true, we go at the end of August and it is always hot and humid and my hair ends up losing its volume half the time anyway, or I end up getting splashed on Kali River Rapids or Splash Mountain, so who cares anyway? Now I just use the one in the room and am able to bring an extra pair of shoes instead (I have to have something to fill that void) LOL

Safetymom, fellow volume loving CBR fanatic, we are going to have to ween you off that hairdryer and convert you to a....wall mounted. LOL

Just got back from the CBR, and we didn't have a hair dryer in our room. I was expecting one ... saw it listed as an amenity ... but we had three different rooms in our party, and none had a hair dryer. Sounds like some rooms have them, but others don't. I'm sure we could have requested one from housekeeping, but just as an fyi, there wasn't one in any of our rooms.

The moderate resorts do not have dryers, irons, boards or coffee pots in the room. You may call housekeeping and request one or all and they will be provided, free of charge. Refrigerators are also available, but at a rather high fee of $10 per day. The high end resorts have all emenities right in the room. We always stay at DxL (can't teach an old dog new tricks) and have never been unable to acquire whatever we asked for. They seem to have plenty to go around. The hair dryers are rather "lightweight" but I solved that problem by bringing a baseball hat. After one wet ride my hair is flat so the cap solves the problem before it occurs. Florida weather is not condusive to nice hairstyles, in my family, anyway and the hat saves time and frazzled nerves. It also serves as an extra place to carry my tradeable pins........

Hulabird, I used one of those wimpy wall mounted hairdryers for the last 4 days. I forgot mine when I went on a business trip. I am still not impressed. :)

snowgooseltd, CBR has has coffee makers in the rooms for years. I also understand that they are installing hairdryers as well as ironing boards and irons at CBR. CSR has had the irons and boards since it opened. Not sure about POR.
