Do the hairdryers blow with any gusto, or just enough to dry your hair. My 'do requires volume and just need to know if the in-room dryer is sufficient or if I should bring myown.
I was at POP 3 weeks ago and used the room hair dryer. I used it every day and on some days 2 times (at night after using the pool) I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much power it had! If I remember correctly, it had a low setting but also a high setting as well. My hair is semi-long, thick, & has lots of layers and it dried just fine w/ the room dryer. I did bring my own hairdryer just in case and it never made it out of the suitcase. Next time I go, I won't be bringing it! I'll use the room one instead.
Take your own. I sympathize with you in regards to needing a dryer with some power behind it. The ones at the resort are the small, compact WEAK ones and they don't get very hot. If you are anything like me--and it sounds liek you are--you will be better off taking one with some power!
If you're used to using a 1,700-1,800 watt dryer, bring your own. I think the ones at Pop century are about 1,200 watt. It takes three times longer to dry my hair with the Pop Century dryer than it does with my own dryer.
From what I remember, it sounds like your hair should be dry in seconds with all the noise it makes but will take a little longer than our home one. If you have room to pack your own, I would recommend bringing it just so you don't get frustrated.
I have longish hair that's not terribly thick and it took only a little longer than normal to dry mine. My DD13 however, has long, very thick hair and it took almost an hour to dry her hair with it.
