Just got back. What a nice resort. I was nervous about staying there after reading some of the posts here.

I requested a king nonsmoking quiet river view room on an upper floor and received all of my requests. Room 5326.
We were close to the food court, pool, buses, and the boats to DTD. The resort really does not have a bad location due to the compactness of it.

We did the boat ride to DTD several times. It would go to Riverside first and then pick us up at FQ. It was a very pleasant trip that took about 15-20 minutes. It was a little chilly once the sun went down however. Be sure to bring a sweatshirt.

We used Disney transportation and thought the bus service was great. It is a very central location and close to all of the parks. It took about 10 minutes to get to MK or to Epcot. MGM seemed very close too, but I can't remember how long it took.
Surprisingly, even the ride to AK only took about 15 minutes or so. We never waited long for a bus. Pickup was at FQ first and then over to Riverside. But it did not seem to take long. Several times the bus would only go to one Riverside bus stop and then on to MK.

On the return trip, the bus would drop off at FQ first which was very nice!

We went to the pool one day and the water was very warm. Their were towels poolside and lots of chairs open. The kiddie pool is close to the main pool with chairs around it also.

The hot tub is separate from the main pool and secluded with shrubbery around it. It did seem to need about another foot of water in the hot tub. You froze when you sat up on the seat, so we just sat lower in the tub.

We did not eat at the food court much but it looked like it had a nice selection. The beignets were good. The food court was a little crowded at peak breakfast time about 8 AM.

We requested a coffee maker and an iron at check in, and had both delivered in about 20 minutes.

Our mousekeeper was very good and we received two towel animals during our 4 nite stay. A duck and a gingerbread man.
We tipped every day.

The room was a large corner room with a king bed. It had wooden blinds and privacy curtains which were somewhat ripped and didn't close all the way. The room and bathroom were clean although you could tell it was not a new resort.

We were very pleased with this resort and the location.
From the pictures, I thought it would look very tacky, but we were surprised. It really is a beautiful place. I'm sure it is gorgeous in the spring when flowers are blooming.

I'll try to answer any questions.

Hi Donna,
First how much did you tip your mouskeeper per day?
we will be spending 9 nights at this resort in June, and I am a little apprehensive about spending so much time in one resort if it is not a plesant place to be. Did you have to use the air conditioner? In some of the old hotels that unit can be very noisy. Was it? And did they charge you for the coffee maker in your room? We have reqested joining rooms, with 3 adults and 3 children we need all the room we can get. so how were the room sizes? And how did the CM's takecare of you ok?

Do you remember if there was a hairdryer in the room. We leave for this resort on Sat.

KGM,
No hairdryers in the room, but you can request them from housekeeping also. (I brought my own because I remember reading here that things like coffeemakers, hairdryers etc were only available first come first serve)

Steve,
We tipped $2-3.00 per day. I also read here that most people tip $1.00 per person in the room per night.
As for the air conditioner, I do not think it was overly noisy. We alternated between air and heat. You could choose low heat, high heat, low AC and high AC and then you could adjust the numbers 1-10 for degree of coolness. It worked well. Im sure in June you will need lots of AC!
The coffeemaker was free. We brought our own coffee from home and our own filters. We received 4 hot cups but they never refilled them. (We just rinsed them out).
We did not have much CM interaction as we were at the parks most of the time, but everyone we met was pleasant and helpful.

You will enjoy this resort. I would have liked to have more time to explore it a little more and also to explore Riverside more.
The boat to DTD also goes to Riverside and it looked beautiful over there.

Our room seemed quite large, but it was a king bed room. I think you will have plenty of room with two rooms.

I'd be happy to answer any more questions.

Hi Donna, welcome back! So nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay at FQ. We will be staying there in 86 days. We can't wait. You said you went to the pool one day. I was wondering if you could tell me about the chairs around the pool. I have a knee injury and the loungers would be difficult to get in and out of without alot of bending. Did you notice by chance if there were any regular chairs around the pool? Thank you for all the cool information you posted. It really helps and also makes me even more excited!

they had both lounge chairs and regular chair by the pool.
The regular chair were by the slide but people were moving chairs around.
We were all trying to get into the sun because it was cold when you came out of the water!!
Wish I had the problem now!

Thanks for the report. We are going to be there in just over a month, and its always reassuring to hear a good report from someone who has just been there.

Hi Donna,

Did you notice any elevators to the top floor? Would you request that room location again? Thanks.

Hi.
Yes. Each building has elevators in the middle of it. They were close to the vending and ice machines.
I would request that room location again because it was very quiet. It was at the back of bldg 5 and I don't think you hear the toilets flushing as much when you are on an upper floor. They are loud and we could hear the room next to us a couple of times.

Thanks for the report! We will be there two weeks from tommorow, and you answered many of my questions!
