Had a Bad Day - July 7 to July 20 2006

Breakfast was in the hotel dining room today. We were up and on the road pretty early. Mom wanted to do Kilimanjaro Safari first thing because most of the animals are out in the morning. We got to see quite a few animals, even a few we had never saw before.

After the Safari, on our way to Everest, we saw DeVine. This is actaually one of my favorite things from the trip. We knew about DeVine before we left, but I didn't think taht we would actually get to see her. She was very beautiful and I enjoyed the experience.

The we decided to get Mickey Head ice cream bars :mickeybar , which of course melt at lightening speed in the Florida sun. I think The Boy only got 4 licks off his before it melted off the stick and landed on the ground. Sister and I both offered him ours, but he wanted no part in it.*sigh* Well, the next ride will help him forget about it...

Expedition Everest *insert dramatic music* As we got closer to the loading area, I started to fell more nervous. Maybe this was a bad idea...We board, and I sit with The Boy. Everything is okay to start with. We knew about the backwards part in advance, so none of us were caught off guard by that. The only scary part really was the BIG drop. We plummet down it and as we reach the bottom, I can feel something wet running down the side of my face. My first thought: My brain is hemmoraging and my ears are bleeding. I reach up to the side of my face, trying not to draw The Boy's attention. When I look at my fingers, I see what appears to be water. Then I start to laugh. The night before I had got water in my ears at the pool. :rotfl2: When we did the big drop, my ears popped and the water came out. Yes, ladies and gentleman, I am an idiot. *lol*

After we get off, I tell everyone about the incident. I believe they agreee with my being an idiot. Next was Dinosaur, which The Boy was looking forward to. Yet again, I was shocked at hoe violent of a ride it was. The best part was when the Carnataur tries to eat you, which is also the part where they take your picture. When we looked at the picture after the ride, The Boy looks bored and Sister and I looki like this::scared1:

Next was Kali River Rapids, which Mom had been looking forward to. The ride was awesome. The we did Everest again (Kept my eyes open the whole time this round). The we decided to go have lunch, which was at Resturantsaurus. After eating, Darrin and I stayed in the outside smoking area to have a puff. Sister stayed with us (no, she does not smoke) , and Mom took The Boy to the Bone Yard, I believe. In the smoking area is where we met "Elvis." He looked like Elvis in his later years, and he just kind of made casual conversation with us. Then, he asked where a rise was, and we told him it was in the Africa section. The many instantly lapsed into racial comments, which he said quite loudly:furious: . We quickly finished our smokes quickly and made a hasty exit.

Then we did Kali River once more. I got soaked this time and it felt so good. Today was really hot.

Then we did Primeval Whirl. Sister, The Boy and I went together, and Mom and Darrin went in another car. This was also way more violent than I expected. I really liked it though and would not have minded doing it again. This is also the ride where my water bottle exploded all over me, because it was pinned between my hip and the side of our car. I didn't even really notice at first because I was so wet after Kali River.

After that, we tried to do the Festival of the Lion King. We got really good seats (even though the woman and her daughter behind us were VERY irritating. ) The we sat...and sat....and sat some more. After about 45 minutes they announced that the show was cancelled. So, we left, somewhat cranky. Although, it was nice to get to sit and relax in air conditioning for awhile...:rotfl:

Next up was Tough to Be a Bug, which I loved! Probably up near the top of my favorite 4-D movies. Although, after words Mom said she never felt a lot of the things (Ex: the bees, the roaches, etc.) I really don't know how she missed it...:confused3 nobody else did *lol* Except for the bees...I knew about the bee stings, so I leaned forward so I wouldn't be able too feel them.

Then we went and found a good spot for Mickay's Jammin' Jungle Parade. This one was probably my favorite parade. I loved the jungle music with all the drums and stuff, and the dressed up CM's on the stilts were really neat too.

Then we decided to do Maharajah Jungle Trek. On the way in we were given fast passes for Kali River by a CM. So, we went through the trail, then went to do Kali River one more time. We finished up with the Pangani Exploration Trail and then left and had supper. Supper was at Cici's Pizza Buffet, which was good, but I would not have minded a bit more selection.

After supper we went to MGM to watch Fantasmic. The show was incredible, but the people in front of us were crazy! I know people get excited and caught up in the Magic, but I was seriously considering throwing something hard and heavy :duck: at the man in front of us,

Tomorrow is a relaxing day of shopping.:cheer2:

I felt the roaches too just not the bees. My theory is that not all seats have the bee stingers.:confused3 WooHoo tomorrow is a relaxing day. Darrin lets me sleep into what 7:30 instead of the usual 6:30 - 7:00. Can't wait for that relaxing extra 1/2 hour.:yay:

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I know it has been far too long since I posted, and I'm suprised no one has shown up at my door yet with torches and pitchforks...

However, here are the long awaited pictures from our first day at Animal Kingdom!

DeVine, once again

Mickey Ice Creams (before The Boy's fell apart)

Ahhh! Freakin' chipmunks get me no matter where I go!!

Easy day today! Darrin let Mom sleep in until 7:30:banana:and The Boy, Sistaer and I got to sleep in until 10. Breakfast was in our room and we went for a swim afterwards. I believe The Boy's favorite thing about Florida is our pool :sad2:

After our swim, we head over to the little town of Celebration in search of a post office to send our postcards. The Boy, Sister and I wandered down the sidewalk while Mom and Darrin were in the post office. We also admired the little cars they all drive in the town. They were having this huge sidewalk sale, and there were balloons and banners and stuff like that evrywhere. Apparently they were having a celebration in Celebration :rotfl2:

After that, it was off to the Everything 99 cents (and up) Store. I can't exactly remember what we bought there...I think I bought some fake license plate things. Regretfully, I gave the really nice one, which had a skull/crossbones and said "The beatings will continue until morale improves" to Cody when I ot home :headache: Hindsight, no such a good plan.

We had lunch at Wendy's at 3 pm. I think I had...a chicken burger maybe? I'm not really sure. It was good though. We have Wendy's back home, so we knew what to expect.

Finally, Darrin got to go to his precious hardware store :confused3 A hardware store is no place for a Pirate!!!pirate: It was called Harbor Freight Tools, and none of us were pleased. He had a list of things he wanted to get, and I did not know what any of them were. However, we set out on a quest to find everything as quickly as possible so we could leave. No dice. Even though we found everything, we stayed for what felt like hours. Also, after being there for a bit, Darrin pulls out a folded up piece of paper from his wallet. It is a picture that Jay (his "buddy from work) gave him. It was a pic of some type of driving light Jay wanted.:rotfl2: We found it, but it was expensive, so Darrin did not buy it. We are still teasing him about it ;)

We also went and had a look at our new hotel, the Tropical Palms Resort. It seemed to be pretty nice, but it is no Palms Suite :guilty:

After that hardware store trauma, we went to K-Mart and the Wal-Mart again. :cool1: LOVE the Wal-Mart! We bought fried chicken, salads and ice cream here, because Darrin wanted to have a "home cooked meal" :lmao: OH!!! We also found...wait for it....pirate: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN CUPCAKESpirate: I am in heaven!:cloud9:

We go back to the hotel and have supper. Guess what is on the TV? PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL! pirate: How lucky can I be? Anyways, we go back down for another swim. When we come back, POTC is still on, and I think we got to finish it. We were in bed by 10:30.

There are just a few pics, so here you go!

Yippie! You're back. I'll tell my kids to put the torches away! We don't have to go to Canada to find you!

That was a close one then, pixie_dust_112! Will your kids be disappointed that they won't get to go burning and pillaging?

Yeah!!!!!!! You're back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: Another great installment and pictures!:thumbsup2 ...Please Don't make us wait so long for the next one!:goodvibes

Please don't leave us hanging for so long! Thanks for the latest. Maybe you are snowed in and had no choice but to post something for us patient subscribers to your TR?;)

We were scheduled for a storm up here Wed night, but there really wasn't anything to speak of. They cancelled school yesterday and everything. The Boy was happy.:cool1: Today it is snowing so bad you can't see across the road and yup they have school. Go figure:confused3 The Boy's school was having a Flex Day anyway so he had no school, but the other schools are open. PiratesFan is still in bed (dreaming of pirates I betpirate: ) but I'll try to force her oops I mean persuade her to write another chapter.
