Hacking the Magical Express

One thing you can do is if the bus you take makes multiple stops and one is closer to MK or at the first stop you could get off there and head to the park. They dont check where you get off just that you got on the right bus.

There's still the issue of what to do with your carry-on luggage though.

Not everyone has carryon luggage. Most of the time, I have just what I need on the plane.

Depending on the size of their carry on bags, they could rent a locker(s) to store that which they do not care to carry with them throughout the park.
Be aware that at MK and AK you will go through bag check before you get to lockers. And at the IG entrance to Epcot (I think). Epcot has very large luggage lockers outside the park entrance (we use these on our last day for our carry on storage) and HS has smaller ones outside the park so no bag check first. Could be a pain to do bag check with a carry on suit case.

This is us most of the time. Though really depends on what we plan to do that day. If it's parks, just stuff for plane. If we swim, we have more.

I expect the "don't hate" was because he/she was trying to break the rules which tends to get trashed on here. That said, it's unlikely to be successful anyway with the way Disney sets this up.

Ya'll are funny.

I said don't hate because I had been commenting or helping with flight times and realized that most people have REALLY bad flight times. To be able to sleep a normal night...drive leisurely and hop on a direct flight is really common for me because I draw from four very busy airports that are all the same distance from my house.

SO back to the regularly scheduled program.

Perfect information. We will reduce our carry on luggage, but I would like to have my iPad with me (and definitely not check it) But I am not about to lug a $1200 computer through the MK or stick it in a stroller. I honestly hadn't thought about lockers.

Also, AngiTN weren't you on the drinking around Epcot episode of the DIS?

I like this idea. I suppose that all the stops will be AK and value resorts based on where we are staying. But that is great to know.

I don't drink at all ever but there was fallout from that?
Not beyond the discussion of folks being upset to see adults drinking. I guess some folks can't tolerate children witnessing adults with alcohol.

Cool. I can skip my reality shows and stay here AND talk Disney :D :D :D :D

I think with Magic Bands it would be great if DME offered direct to park busses or maybe to the TTC.

It's all part of the way the contract with the bus company is written. They are by contract only able to go to the resorts. The ME contract is not the same bus system that runs on property.

If you're staying in the AK area (AKL, CSR, or an All-Star Resort), I would say the chances are zero that you'll make a stop at an MK resort. Typically, the buses that head to that area service GF, Poly, CR, and WL.

Huh. Well that made sense to you, but did require the context of people having read all your recent posts on that subject to understand. Thanks for explaining.

It's also a matter of your geography. I can get a flight to MCO that's good for leaving or for arriving but not really both. That's what I get for living with Rainier in driving distance. But when I go to Disneyland, I can get great flight times.

You are going to be amazed at the number of people who use theirs as a camera. Right in front of you, screen on blast, during nighttime parades.

Not sure it's really breaking rules. (I tend to think of these restrictions being rules for the drivers not really for us, or we would be given more explicit rules in paperwork) It's just going to be difficult and require being magically put on a bus that's going to a MK resort. And now that I hear about a stroller, unless they are renting one, that's going underneath the coach and I doubt the driver (who knows of the restrictions) will retrieve it at the wrong resort.

I am a wedding (and portrait) photographer....nothing surprises me anymore...That being said...can't wait to find out the camera upgrades to the new iPhone tomorrow. That is our travel camera.

Well I travel with medical equipment that goes under the bus and I have yet to have a driver that remembers which resort I am going to. LOL
Another DME employee scans your paper/MB while the driver is busy putting luggage and such under the bus. At least that is the way it has been every time I have used DME which is dozens of times. The Driver is clueless as to which resort a guest is going to as long as it is on his current run. The only time the Driver has ever scanned our paper is when he is taking us BACK to the airport.
Invariably at least once en route, the driver will ask me where I am going. I sit in the first row close to the driver.
