Gutter Guard

Does anyone have these? Is it worth the money? Any other thoughts?

We have a house in the woods with no gutters, but we decided to add a few gutters and had gutter helmet installed. It worked great until we had our roof replaced - the roofer did not understand the system and altered the angle on the helmets (we noticed that the gutters were not properly catching the water - we ended up having to have ALL the gutter helmets replaced.

Since it hasn't eained in our area in the last month I can't tell if they are fixed.

My best advice- if you have an older roof which may need replacing you may want to wait, otherwise, get a couple of estimates and check references to make sure the people will do a good job.

Also, I tried to pick up all the gutter screws and nails in the driveway but of course my husband ran over one and punctured a brand new tire.....

I was just checking these out online today and wondering the same thing! Our gutters are loaded with leaves and DH says he doesn't mind cleaning them out, but I have to bug him for months until he'll finally do it. What is the average cost per foot, does anyone know?

I have a smallish Cape Cod house and our gutters weren't that high, maybe $400-600 dollar range.

That was new gutters, gutter guards and attaching the guttters/guards, plus labor.

This was the same roofing company that had just put our roof a few months prior so I think we got a price break.

That's not too bad at all! We have a small ranch. I think I'll have them out for a quote. I wonder if it's more expensive in the fall? I bet there's more of a demand then.

I don't remember what ours cost, but in the last house we lived in, we had them. We had a big problem with pine needles stopping up our gutters. Once we had the gutter helmets installed we were problem free.
