Gut feeling that DH is starting to lose the fight..UPDATE pg. 4

C. Ann, I don't know what to say. I can't make it better but I'll always be here to listen.

I'll continue to lift you, your DH, and the rest of your family (especially DD) up in my prayers. May God give you strength and peace.

 So sorry to here this. If you need to talk we are here for you anytime. Wish there was some magic potion I could give you to help, but all I have is my shoulder for you to lean on. Use it anytime.

So sorry, C. Ann. Hope you can feel the love and support reaching out through this boards.

Thanks again for all of the support.. I've been trying to reach DH's doctor at the VA, but as usual, he can't be reached until Wednesday because that's the only day that the GP Clinic is "open".. What a way to run a medical facility!

DH is not in any distress right now - breathing is a bit more difficult than it should be, but he's not complaining and actually seems to be in a pretty good mood.. Respiratory therapist said his oxygen needs to be cranked up a notch, but he can't do it without approval from the doctor at the GP Clinic.. He also feels that DH should be seen by a cardiologist.. Between the continued swelling in his legs and feet - and some fluid in his lungs - he's convinced that a CHF incident is in the making and he can't understand why they haven't had him seen by a cardiologist before now.. (The simple answer to that is $$$$$) He was VERY annoyed and said if DH started complaining I should just take him to the ER over there and bypass the clinic all together..

I did some research on the VA we use last night on-line and it appears that they provide home health aids to "some" veteran's so I'm going to have to check into that.. It's getting VERY difficult for my DH to take a shower now (because of the breathing problems) and he's so heavy it's hard for me to help him.. I also saw something on there about them providing his healthcare in a home setting (having a PA or someone come here to the house) and I'm going to check into that as well.. I just can't push him in the wheelchair anymore - he's 3 times my measly 95 lbs. - and his feet are so swollen he can't get shoes OR slippers on.. I have a bad feeling that these services are only available to Veteran's who actually have service-related health problems, but it won't hurt to check - right?

Thanks again for the prayers, PD and good thoughts.. Not too many people I can talk to about this.. Don't want to lay it on my DD with what she's been through and my stepkids are less than helpful - to say the least..:(

:grouphug: Prayers and good thoughts go out to you and your dear husband.
