I felt bad about posting GL info on the ATWT thread, so I'm starting a new one! TVGuide spoilers:






Guiding Light
Harley feels heartache because of Gus' growing bond with Natalia. Reva shares a drunken kiss with a handsome Springfield resident. Dinah keeps her health issues hidden from Mallet. Ashlee is ready to compete with Ava for Coop's affections

OOOOO....I wonder who the handsome stanger is! I have to say, I hate Reva's hair these days. But I still love her!!
I can not stand this Josh becoming a minister thing! Give me a break!!! Cassie has got to go! She is soooooooooooo annoying! Have to admit that I have been quite bored with this show lately! Anyone else?!?!?

I watched today for the first time in awhile. Josh a minister? How did that happen? I really wanted to see Dinah. Could someone fill me in. Why is she in the hospital?

When Josh got sprung from prison for "shooting" Alan, he got mugged by this boy, who turned out to be Gus' son, Rafe. Josh went to see him in juvie and found it in his heart to forgive him. Ever since then, he is on a crusade to become a minister....please!!
Dinah jumped in front of a bullett intended for Mallett. Turns out that Mallett used to be a hit man before returning to Springfield. His ex-boss, Griggs, showed up and told him to take out Matt Reardon, who owed big time money. He told Mallett if he refused he would go public with his past and do something to Dinah. Mallett set up a "hit" on Matt but obviously didn't do it. Griggs found out and was going to shoot Mallett but Dinah jumped in front of him instead.

I'm just wondering about the Josh being a minister thing- is GL trying to pay tribute to its origins? Didn't the show begin about a minister and his family? Since this is the 70th anniversary and all, I'm wondering if they're trying to pay some sort of homage.

GL is hit and miss for me- some days I can't bear to miss it. Other days I cannot stand it.

I DO like: Ashley and Coop; anything with Blake; Reva/Josh or Reva and just about anything. Dinah. Buzz and possibly this Lillian thing. The Beth and Rick thing is OK. I like Jeffrey and Reva kind of working together. Doris makes me laugh with her conniving ways...and how Alan plays off of her.

Things I DO NOT like: hate to say it, but I'm sick of Harley right now- she used to be one of my all time faves, but she and Gus just don't do it for me anymore. Nor does their constant drama. Ava is too screechy; Olivia bugs me as well, yet I like to dislike Olivia. I liked it when Buzz called her crap to the table yesterday. And Cassie, oh Cassie.....buh-bye, you bug me big time!

I couldn't agree more! I have never liked Ava. I think she is a horrible character played my a ho-hum actress! I think the Buzz and Lillian romance would be sweet! Although I would love to see him back with Alexandra. The two of them together crack me up! So glad to see Alan-Michael go away!
I would love to see Danny Santos come back....without whiney Michelle!

Thanks for starting this thread. What is up with Reva's hair? I am tired of the Coop and Ava storyline. I hope Ashley gets a chance with Coop.

I agree it is a stretch with Josh as a minister.

I could not agree with you more! Reva's hair is horrible but she is probably still my favorite! Josh is so annoying with the whole minister thing and even worse with Cassie!!! I am tired of her and I hate her with Josh. I am hit or miss with GL. I got mad a few months ago and didn't watch for a few weeks and now I'm back at it again. I forgot to say that I really like Ashlee!

Guiding Light is my favorite soap! I like Rick and Beth because it brings back memories of them as teens (same Rick anyway). I really wish Phillip would come back. Every scene with Cassie I just think about how good it would be with the original actor. I really dislike this one. Josh becoming a minister while living with his girlfriend is disturbing to me. I feel the same about Cassie. I loved the original actress and I have not been able to warm up to this one at all. Plus, I always see her in commercials for Macaroni Grill and it drives me crazy! I really hope Jonathan comes back! I loved him!!!!!

Me too, which is exactly why I Tivo it then I can watch it at my leisure and skip through all the boring parts.

GL use to be so good than it went flat. It has it's up and downs more than my other soaps.

Josh is driving me crazy and dont like this cassy either. Wish Jonathon would also come back. Danny coming back would be great but where would he fit in with this crowd?

I liked the Jonathon and cassys daughter(what was her name again) and wish they did not kill her off.

Thank goodness for Tivo is right.....can fast forward to the boring stuff

Thanks for the spoilers. I want the Josh ministry s/l to be over. I can't take another minute of this self-righteous Josh. Awful. As another poster mentioned, I am sick of Harley too.

I love Reva/Jeffrey/Olivia. Reva is back to her fiesty self and it is just great.

I love the feisty, unapologetic Reva, too. Harley has always been one of my favorites, but she needs a new storyline quick. Everyone knows the quickest way to make 2 kids "love" each other is to forbid them to love each other! And weren't most of these people Catholic until recently (Father Ray). Now Josh is becoming a Protestant minister. It is just not realistic.

I love that Reva and Jeffrey are totally honest with each other. He kinda wants Olivia, and she really wants Josh. No lies-what a concept on a soap.
