Guide question

I was wondering if there is a benefit to referrals for guides? We know one DVC owner - a friend's aunt and uncle- would they get a benefit for referring us to their guide? I'm trying to decide if we should talk to them before buying or just call up DVC and roll with whatever guide we get

There is usually a perk (changes from time to time) if a new member purchases as a result of a referral by an existing member. It can be some credit to dues, a gift card (believe last one I heard about was referring owner getting a $250 or $500 gift card to spend on Disney), or something else. So the referring member will likely get something.

Also, some times (although I do not think it exists right now) there have even been additional perks to the new member buyer if he was referred by an existing member, e.g., for a while, a new buyer who purchased AKV on referral was getting a $500 gift card that other new buyers were not getting.
