We are staying at AKV - Kidani village and found out some friends will be in Orlando at the same time - not staying on property. Can I invite them to come to the pool for the day if we are staying there? What are the rules regarding that?

That's a fairly controvercial topic, but I think the way to understand it is that SOME resort pools require wrist bands for people to swim there. That means that anyone who does not have a room key with their name on it can not get a wrist band unless they are able to pool hop as a member. Not all pools have those wrist bands, but I take that to mean that if you are not staying at a resort, you can not use the pools there...even as a day guest.

Technically, no. The pools are for resort guests only. Of course, you can always ask at the resort that day and they could give you special permission.

However, the AKV pools are off limits to pool hopping so they may be more stringent in enforcing this rule than at some of the other resorts.

It's too bad your friends aren't staying on the property. Then your family could pool hop to their resort (as long as it wasn't one of the ones you can't pool hop to).

You could all meet up at the water park.

AKV - Kidiani pool has 2 gates both of which need to be opened by a room key to get into the area. On some occasions we have even had people at the gates checking everyone for room keys to get into the pool area.

When in Nov are you going? We were there mid Nov this past year and it wasn't really warm enough to swim. It was beautiful weather for the parks though. We had a great time.

There are signs at the pools saying pool use is for resort guests only.

Could someone "check" the friends in for a night? For example, if you have 5 people in a 2 BR that sleeps 9, could your friends be "checked-in" as guests for the night with pool privileges? Or do they have to be reserved in advance?

We were just in Kidani Village and my son met three kids who were playing in all the games with and at the end of the day we were having drinks with there parents, very nice people, when we found out that they were not staying there and that they were visiting friends who were staying there. There is no gate for the pool that needs a room key. I would say if the pool is not crowded there wouldn't be a problem but if it is peak season. i would say no
