Guest Room Frustrations!

I do not mean to be petty, but I think people should have to abide by the description that they use on their game rooms!

There is nothing worse than waiting for a game, taking forever to play the game, and then when you win they say sorry no prizes (even though it says prizes in the description). Or when you go into a room that says "Free Stuff", and then they say no free stuff. Or when you are playing a game like falling chairs, and you are close to winning they keep letting more people in and you have wasted your time cause no one will ever win.

I have learned that Dis members are the greatest when it comes to guest rooms with games, and CL_Mickey's Buddy has the best game of "Hit the Floor Out the Door"

I agree with you.

But -- be aware of a long-standing bug in room titles on VMK. (What, a bug on VMK? No way?!?) Basically, when you change a room name and description, it might not get updated immediately. The popular room list seems to be pretty slow to get updated. So, the description you see might be an old one.

Right, Be. And another problem could be the guests in the room can take it over, if you're not willing to Boot. It can get a little insane sometimes, which is why I will probably never host a game room! Hard enough trying to use my room as an away from keyboard hideaway! LOL

A friend of mine was playing yesterday (10/24/05) and he was in a line for a room that said "free stuff". When he got into the room there were a bunch of mean girls in there and they said "no free stuff you have to trade". My friend clicked on the room description and then clicked on the "report" button and sent in the problem. Then the room owner came back on and was real upset that someone had reported her. He noticed that a VMK Staff member had appeared in the room and he was wearing green ears. He noticed after that that the room name had been changed to "Unacceptable room name".

So sometimes it pays to report people. But my friend did not get any free stuff from that room.
