Would appreciate some advice from all you pin experts. I bought a WDW Guest Relations pin on ebay and I am wondering if it is authentic. The description on PinPics (and in the auction) was that it had a jewelry pin clasp. The pin I received has a regular tack style back. Also, there is nothing written on the back - not "cDisney", not "Walt Disney Productions" - nothing at all. Does anyone have any info on this pin? Thanks for your help.

It could be a fake, I hope you didn’t pay to much for it, like in California the ebay world was flooded with Tinkerbell guest relations pins they were very cute, bad part was they were all fake.

There are two that sold on Ebay one was more 3d and very shiny the other looked flat and the color was more like a rough goldish color. I think you will find that one is the fake.

Mine is gold in a more 3d and says Disney on the back it’s older and has the long pin clasp. I believe the new ones say Walt Disney on the back now, but I’m not sure.

I’m afraid to say it may look like you got a fake. But its still a cool pin.

Sounds like it is a bootleg to me. There was one seller at room hopping at the NFFC convention last week in California that had several of those pins and bootleg Disneyland Host and Hostess pins for sale. They were good copies.

I did have a chance to look at the new Tour Guide Pin from Disneyland...the one currently being worn on a CM costume. The jewlery pinback goes up and down not across like the older style pin. But the "D" is the same as the older styles which are on Pin Pics.

Hope you didn't pay too much for it.

Thanks for your replys. Unforturnately I think $50 for a fake pin is way too much. Live & learn :-) I wrote to the seller twice asking for a return/refund based on the fact that the pin had a different back than described in her auction and did not appear authentic since there was no Disney marking on it. She read the first email, stated it came from a Cast Member, and never acknowledged my request for a refund. The second email she won't even open/read. I left my first negative feedback on ebay in 3 years.

Thanks again!
