Guest of Honor Badges!

I'm sooo excited ! I FINALLY got in touch w/ Days of Christmas for my Guest of Honor badges (for my DS3 and nephew3). I spoke with Marina, who is absolutely wonderful . She did say that the anniversary badges are going very quickly and she doesn't think they'll be able to keep them in the store once May 5 arrives. She also went ahead and is making the badges I ordered and holding them until we arrive (June 13). She normally only does this one month out, but was very very accommodating. I'm so happy to get this done!

Anyway, if you want the anniversary name badge, you should probably call and order it as soon as possible, as they are in high demand.

What is a "guest of honor badge?"

Is the red Mickey one that everyone is out of the only one that actually SAYS Guesst of Honor?

And is the gold one the same one that is shown on Laughingplacestore.com? That one on there looks black.

And is the gold one the only 50th anniversary GoH badge? Meaning the rest are regular GoH badges?

and last question... I've read that they engrave the gold one with black letters so it's harder to see. If that's the case, would it be easier just to get a regular one that has white engraving?

I see you have the black engraving, was it harder to see with the black engraving as opposed to the white?

There isn't a black one. The 50th anniv. badges are all gold. Didn't have trouble seeing the name and neither did the CM's that called me by name.

Does anyone have a picture of the regular GoH badges? BTW, how much does Disney charge for these badges and do they deliver to your resort if staying on-site? This will make a great surprise for my kids.

and got 2 badges for the boys, with the names in black. They didn't have the gold mickey hats there, so I just ordered the normal ones and Marina is embroidering the names in gold, to tie into the gold badges. She doesn't think they'll have the red ones until this is all over and she told me they were selling fast, also.

OK, at the risk of sounding like my mother here, I realize that we all have the best intentions of keeping our children close and watched over by family, but weren't we always told not to have your child's name displayed on the outside of anything they wear?

Hats are 9.95 at the Emporium in MK.

I thought I read somewhere that the gold hats are 9.50 or so. Marina commented that I might be able to purchase them elsewhere and have then sent to her for embroidery and she would ship them with my badges, but wasn't sure and I didn't want to deal with it. We paid $7.00 for the regular hat plus $7.00 to embroider the name on the hat, plus I think the badges are $6.00 or so, plus $10.95 shipping. We are leaving until December and I wanted to have these ahead of time. Goofy is going to mail the badges to the boys about a week or so before we leave and then I'm going to get one of the flight attendants to come "find" the boys and say that Mickey Mouse sent them.
