Hi Everyone,

We are staying offsite. My mom is going with us but will not be doing as much as we are. There are some days that my family is going to the park but she is not. I was wondering if there was an option where she could drop us off and pick us up kind of like a cab so that she can use the rental car the rest of the day. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there a special lane for guest drop off and pick up?

Thanks for your time.

We use to travel with my parents like you plan to. (They'd be in Florida for the winter and we'd visit.) Some days they were up for the parks, some days not.

They can drop you off at the entrance to most parks. They would tell the parking people they were picking up/dropping off and would wait for us in a special spot. At MK it was outside the TTC. At AK, they could drop us off right in front. If we went to EPCOT or DHS, we'd have them drop us off at Boardwalk and we'd boat or walk to the park. If we'd park hop, we'd use Disney transportation.

Disney made it very easy for drop offs/pick ups.

I've dropped off my teenage girls quite a few times.....

At MK, just tell them at the gate that you want to drop them off and they'll direct you to the side road (which leads towards GF, but follow the signs to MK/TTC). I always drop them at the Lost & Found building...mostly because it makes it easiest to pick them up at the same place because there is parking so you can sit and wait without being in anyone's way. They then walk a few feet and are at the TTC with monorail to MK or EPCOT.

At DHS and AK, you just tell them at the gate, they put a card on your windshield and you drive up to the handicap parking area drop them off and then leave. Pick up is the same routine.

If u drop off at mk do u still get to ride the monorail? Thanks for your responses very helpful!!!!!

Yes at the ticket transportation center, you can use to monrail or the ferry. :goodvibes

The drop off area is outside the TTC, so yes, you would still need to take either the monorail or the boat to MK.

Obviously, the driver would only be dropping you off. The driver could not escort someone on the monorail to deliver them to the MK gate (I'm saying this in case someone with a child is thinking they could deliver their child to the gate and then leave). If you drive in to drop off you can't park and leave your car. When I mentioned I use the Lost & Found for the parking, I meant so that I can park there at the appointed pick up and wait for my always late (LOL) teens. Actually, what WE do is they'll call me to come get them when they've decided to leave the park....by the time they get to the front of the park, take the monorail and walk to L&F I can drive from our condo to meet them....but inevitably I still arrive a few minutes before them.

I suppose you could also drop people off at the Contemporary and they could walk to the gates of MK avoiding the Monorail. While I don't think you want to walk from GF, you could also drop off there and they could have a shorter monorail ride.
