Guess who?

Bigger than a vehicle?????? A building then? But not a rental house. Hmmm .... you bought a hotel!

I just said it wasn't me, not that it wasn't a rental house! hehe

It's not ME that bought it! Whatever it might be...

:rolleyes1

Oh, I got it ... someone from this Board bought a house at Disney, but not you. Am I close?

Now who could that be? And how did you know about it?

And congrats to 2XDisneyDad (Steve) on his big new purchase! :thumbsup2 A new Windsor Hills townhome! Welcome to the "club"!

He just "closed" on it last week, so I figured it was about time I congratulated him! See what happens when you visit Disney and lurk around the DIS too much!?

I also thought it would be more fun to make everyone guess and leave the answer right out there "hidden" for someone to go and find! :)

I thought it was the person from IceLand that was on this forum asking about homes.

I forgot he was on for a while and was asking a lot of questions.

Good luck Steve and I started a thread just for you so you can have a good start.

I think I had more fun with George's scavenger hunt then anyone else and I even knew the answer.:rotfl2:

Well they say you only live once so down we went to WH and wouldn't you know it we pulled a...lets see, I think it would be best put as we pulled a George.

I thought my 2 kids would be the most expensive souvenir from a trip, this one is definitely up there. We are thrilled, and I want to say thanks to everyone for all the great help and support they provide to people like myself. I felt that we really had a good handle on things and were pretty well versed on the idea of getting into the STR "business". I hate to use that word because it really does not feel that way. We are looking forward to many years of great memories with our kids, their 3 and 5, and hopefully giving many families the same positive experience (and I can always say we did it all for the kids, but I think we all know the truth;) ). Like I have said in the past its not about investing in a apartment building or tenement, but investing in your and others families...it is Disney after all.:goodvibes

As you can all see we have become part of George's "family" as I truly believe he has the perfect attitude and shares our ideas as to what we believe a vacation "experience" should be from beginning to end. He has also become a friend and shared a lot of information throughout this process, well before we entertained the idea of coming on board with him. I have had similar experiences with many of you on the DIS, whether home owner or not, and again much thanks.

So stay tuned, as you can imagine we are getting very busy and the Uhaul trailer that we are bringing down keeps growing and growing, but it is a lot of fun. Thanks for the comments on the furnishings we are going high end, but feel the investment will be worth it in the end.

Oh...the name...

My wife got the final word on this one, how could I not when she bared with me buying 3 flat panel Plasma/LCD TV's, God I love  that woman.

The name is...Enchanted

I though it was catchy and encapsulated how we feel going through this.

Hey George, just an idle question....isn't all of WH less than about 5 years old? It seems early to be doing a major renovation, what's the story? Just wondering how much abuse these rental homes take...

It's all 2005 construction...so yes. It's not a question of abuse, it's a question of decorating, taste, quality of furniture, electronics, that sort of thing. This home had very very cheap bottom of the line everything throughout I believe, they're basically throwing it all out and starting over with furniture and electronics, that sort of thing, not because of abuse or wear and tear though. It was also never painted since construction, so it's plain builder grade white walls everywhere still, as built.

But, a rental home in general definitely gets more wear and tear than your average home, just not the case here.

If you bought a home somewhere wouldn't you want to decorate and make it your "own"!? :) That's kind of the fun part, as least for my DW it was her faaavorite part of the whole thing!

Ok yes, it was the word "renovation" that threw me....to me that means construction, drywall etc. more than new carpet and furniture (decorating). Thanks.

George just about summed it up. I guess there was nothing "wrong" with the place, it is technically fully furnished, but it definitely came from one of these house in a box stores where they will furnish an entire home for 5-10 thousand bucks...it definitely shows. This is one of the few times where we remembered to take the before pictures, and I think everyone will be impressed with the transformation.:thumbsup2

Thanks again for all the laughs and support from this thread,

Steve

George you were just looking for an excuse to use the:darth: weren't you:goodvibes
