Guess on Homeschool Day 2014

I had been looking at the Homeschool Days and couldn't find it on the Disneyyouth.com website. Just noticed that it is listed under Student Seminars, not Homeschool Days. So those looking for the fall dates look under student seminars sometime after 2/27.

Individuals attending YES classes can have only one parent attend the class. Are the rules the same for homeschoolers attending YES classes in the week before/after homeschool day? I think my child would love some of these classes, but that means either me or my husband will be alone during those hours.:confused3

I can't even fathom that as a bad thing! Do you know how much fun it is to be at Disneyworld??!! Without having to worry about keeping everyone in the family happy and just enjoying YOURSELF? It's not a week - it's a few hours! ENJOY IT!!! Everyone deserves a little alone time!!!

do you have to provide any proof that you homeschool? I am looking into going for homeschool days in winter 2015, but my oldest child will only be 6 at that time. We do homeschool, but in our state we do not register until the oldest child in the family is 7 so we will not have any official proof we homeschool

Call me strange, but I enjoy spending time with my family. Plus both DH and I would like to be the one going to the class to see the behind the scenes stuff.

Nope, you don't have to provide proof at all.:thumbsup2

The winter date has passed. Checked the website this morning to see if they put up the date for October. Nothing yet! :badpc:

They don't usually post it right after the HOMESCHOOL date passes, but after all the currently scheduled YES CLASSES have passed.

Do you know when the homeschool yes dates end? The individual yes dates go until September, so I assume that's not what you mean.
:goodvibes

I have been homeschooling my kids for 6 years and I didn't know that WDW had homeschool days. It's been over 3 years since our last trip to WDW and we used the YES program. I've read that it's not as great of a deal anymore. I was wondering if someone would mind posting the homeschool tickets prices if we go on a homeschool day and do the class. Or, if you can post a link. Thank you!

I should point out my kids current ages: 12, 10, 8, 7, 3, 1. Thanks!

We just went to Homeschool Days in Feb. we bought the 8 day hopper w/ waterparks for $276.24 (that was the biggest ticket you could get) not sure what the other prices were.

Thanks! We will also want to purchase an 8 day ticket with hopper and waterparks, so that gives me a great idea of how much it will cost us. I wasn't sure if 8 days was an option. That's what we did with the YES program 3 years ago and it worked out great!

Do the tickets need to be used within 14 days like the regular tickets? When we bought the YES tickets 3 years ago they were valid or our entire stay (which was 3 weeks). It was nice to spread it out and have plenty of days in between to relax :).

Yes, Homeschool day was on 2/27, the tickets were valid starting from 2/23 and had to be used by 3/8 (I think that was the day)...

What do you think the chances are that Disney will change the Homeschool days like they did the YES program? We're probably going to go this fall for the homeschool day, but I'm worried if we decide to put it off, they might change the program. With 6 kids, it will make a huge difference in our overall cost. If we get the 8 day premium ticket at approx $270 each for 7 tickets (my youngest will be 2 in the fall so she doesn't need a ticket) our total ticket price will be $1890. If we buy the same 8 day option but with regular tickets (not homeschool), for 4 adult and 3 children it would be almost $3100. And if we wait a year, we'll need 5 adult tickets and 3 child tickets which would be over $3500. Almost double w/o the homeschool option. So I'm feeling pressured (within myself lol) to go this fall, when I actually think next fall would be a better time for my little girls since they will be 3.5 & 5 instead of 2.5 & 4. It's a big decision because we only go every 3-4 years. I know they'll have fun either way, I just think they would get more out the trip if they were a year older. Also, most likely my current 3 yo would reach that magical height of 40" by the time she's 5 if we wait until fall 2015.
