Haven't stayed onsite for a few years but just got my yellow envelope in mail and it shows that i put down my deposit and says the remainder is due by Dec. 20th.

While this is not a huge problem for me i didn't know about it and thought that it was due when we got there. I am almost positive that is how it was in the past. This is what happens when you don't stay onsite for 3 years, things change i guess.

Yeah, most ressies are being made through the Walt Disney Travel Company and not through the old CRO. Even if you're booking room-only and not a package, they they still require the payment in full in ADVANCE. It's getting harder and harder to get through to CRO these days for a room-only "traditional" reservation.

Hi LisaRay, I booked with the code also, and when my confirmation came in it said that it was due on 1/11, we will be there on 2/1. I called and asked, because with a room only reservation you are supposed to be able to pay the remainder when you check in. I was afraid they may have made my reservation some kind of package or something. I called and she told me that I do not have to pay it by then, I can pay when I check in.

I would call to ask. The last three changes I have made to my ressies told me that I had to pay prior to arrival. I called each time and they told me not to worry about it that my ressies would stand and I can pay the balance upon arrival to the resort.

You can always call back and have them transfer the ressie from WDTC to CRO. That way you get the benefits. I have recently even gotten that line about paying in full also through CRO and called to find out about it. The CM from CRO took that part off the ressie for me so I didn't have to worry about it.

Yes, you have to book through CRO for the room only package. On our latest reesie, the CM made the point in telling me that it is 1st night up front with a 5 day cancellation policy, with remainder due at check-in.

I always ask for a room-only reesie 1st thing, no matter what.

In my opinion CRO is the way to go.

I had the same experience when I switched my rack rate ressie to the AP rate for our upcoming trip. While my modified confirmation said the balance was due 3 weeks prior to arrival, when the CM pulled up our ressie on their computer it said it wasn't due until the day we arrive. I was told it had something to do with the way they have to enter the codes, but it seems that if they can have the correct information on their screen, they should be able to have the correct information on the paperwork.

We tend to pay in advance anyway, which I did, but still received yet another notice saying payment was due immediately (even though they say no other notice will be sent).

I just called and to use the CTH code on existing ressies @ Pop Century. Took 45 minutes and 3 CM's. Paid the deposit and was told the rest was due at check-in.
